Me and Gary ‪@TwoToes‬ locate some Tertiary Gravels of the Sierra Nevada see how much Placer Gold is mixed in with the Blue lead deposits and how much Clay is mixed in to. The Ancestral Yuba River Placer Gold Deposits have historically been very rich I hope this is the case with this deposit. I always enjoy Exploring new spots in search of Placer Gold nuggets makes me think of the old timer's back in 1848 and there search for riches !!! On this trip we have two Metal Detectors to aid us in our search a Minelab SDC 2300 and a White's TDI .
The Alternate Title for this video was Mountain Goat Prospecting !!!!!!

@@Smithsgold No nuggets. Just some small gold. However, there was quite a bit of spidermaning along slippery bedrock cliffs and the SDC's ability to fold up and fit in a backpack was a literal lifesaver

I lost my only sibling and brother this past December 19 i miss him,my parents in their mid 80’s buried their oldest son not right.You always remind me of him the hat,moustache and quiet but also a joker. Your a good man ik just by seeing you on here thank you for your uploads makes my day.

I didn't hangout any longer than need be I didn't like the looks of it either. I think the next sample will be from a little to the right of it. I was hoping that the last rain moved it on down the hill but no luck as of yet !!!

When i see that blue / grey clay in the creek on my shovel i get excited , it tells me it hasn't been disturbed for a very very long time , and there's usually gold in it . Nice job on the hillside walking backwards , it's tricky , 😂👍✔ good job Jeff , cheers Ned .

You two always have fun together and there is always Gold. It goes to show that gold just isn’t in the creeks and rivers so branch out and explore the banks and areas most don’t think of trying. Have to admit I'm a little jealous, I'm two and a half hours south of you in Calaveras county, I live in in the high country but the gold stops just past Murphys at 2000ft elevation, most of the year here you battle heat, stickers, thorns, poison oak,, nasty chaparral, snakes, mosquitos, more heat and steep dry hills. I love my hobbies and nothing could stop me, but it would be nice to work under the tall cool conifers with a nice breeze once in a while.

Last year, at the end of the summer, when the ground was real dry I classified clay thru a #4. It was real powdery when it was dry. I ran the material thru my box slowly. It worked well. I got .4g out of 50 gallons of material. It looks you guys could be getting well over a gram out of 50 gallons of classified dirt.

The place you were gathering material high on the bank, was that the bed of the Yuba long time ago, is the clay the sign that you were at the bottom of the heavies in that particular layer?`

it was the bed of the river a long long time ago. The clay layers could be from ancient Floods. Hard to tell if its the bottom with all the material moving down the slope as each layer will have a different amount of gold in it
