I hate the bunker. I think if it’s referred by the ref it’s ok, but this calling things back for infringements not seen by the ref or the touchies is a game killer.

@@shanewilson199 The problem with that is that if you just went back to on-field decisions, it would just go back to the old days where the minute the referee makes a mistake the media would go ballistic. Rugby League is a great game, but gee the media that covers it is terrible. All they ever talk about is refereeing decisions. The reality is that any game refereed by humans is going to have the occasional mistake and we should just get on with it. But the media would have no idea what to talk about.

@@daleviker5884 i also think the coaches also have a responsibility vis a vis ref decisions. It’s a hard job, and mistakes get made, but if their honest mistakes then that’s just life. I think there have been bunker decisions that have been wrong too. I think Phil Gould is far too influential given he’s position in club administration and commentary.

@@shanewilson199 You've got the perfect attitude Shane. Annoys me that coaches can just whinge about a mistake to deflect from their own performance, knowing that the media will make it the main story. Refs will always get some things wrong, and the bunker catches most of them but still some mistakes will slip through. Everyone from fans, coaches and media should just accept them and know that over a season they will even out. I watch soccer in England as my second sport, and there are way more ref howlers in that sport, but the media pretty much ignore them and promote the game. And I agree with you about Gould. I haven't watched a Channel 9 game for years because of him, except the GF where there's no choice. He almost made last year's GF unwatchable for me.
