As a combat veteran with PTSD, gold panning and the act of searching for it saved my life. Just watching panning helps! Keep on keeping on with the great videos Brother!
I have a question for you War veteran with ptsd. Do you still love war and army as much as you loved before getting ptsd? Because in my mind, yeah i get that you serve the country and do this for good, but i know some peole swear war is ''the shit'', but on my side, i do dislike everything relating to hate/crime/war/bad. What's your opinion on it?
@@franky4000 Dude why are you being so rude hes a war veteran also no one likes war its called fighting for YOUR freedom he is sacrificing his life for you so you dont have the fear of having a bomb blowing up by your house
@@jerry1319 being rude was not my intention, sorry, I just want to know the why and how would someone would do that, and thanks for your input, i did not think of it that way, as in a sacrifice, i only saw people around me saying going to war was nice, not that they were sacrificing their life for us.
You are absolutely correct I use this and coin collecting to keep my PTSD and high anxiety levels under control and it helps immensely no medicines. Worked engine rooms of naval ships for over 20 years civilian engine rooms for over 15 years gave me bad anxiety levels
I'm only watching your videos as a relaxing experience, and I almost exclusively watch the paydirt reviews for that exact same reason. This is similar to ASMR, it's hard to tell why it is so enjoyable, but it is.
I've bought 3 bags of his paydirt, beginner, mid, and expert, ALL OF WHICH had more gold than advertised! Not to mention, he tosses added bonuses too! Crystals, wheat back pennies, and his patented guitar picks. He delivers what he says, and I encourage you to give him a try if your skeptical. WARNING!!! The expert bag has ALOT of flour gold and is HARD to separate. But def fun and worth it!
I have debilitating anxiety. Like i can't even work or ANYTHING right now. I literally enjoy nothing but prospecting related activities. Paydirt is SO much fun. The weekly subscription keeps me excited for the future😊
Impossible paydirt took me 6 hours straight in panning. My roomates are also watching me patiently while doing it and now they understand why I always ordered paydirt instead of buying gold in jewelry store.. Thank you Shane for sharing this idea.
I’ve done 6 of your bags so far. 4 beginner bags with my young daughter and 2 Gold Strike bags for myself. You’re 💯% right, panning them is definitely a great escape from whatever is going on in our lives. Thank you for putting out a great and honest product. I definitely plan to order more bags!
Restoration videos of old tools or worn down tools and gold panning videos are my go to for de-stressing and chilling out really. Watching yourself and some of Dan Hurd Prospecting helps me to relax and I find it rather enjoyable as well. Keep up the good work bud!
Just got the gold strike bag the other day. Ive been through it three times and keep finding gold. Two pieces looked half covered in mercury, really cool looking. The flour gold is beyond me at the moment, but im keeping everything. All in all im really pleased with it. Been loads of fun. I would definitely recommend doing this.
So glad I found your videos. Since I got into panning back in March I’m already around 2 grams from Paydirt’s that you’ve reviewed. Thanks for all your pro tips really helped me get started!
I am a precious metals refiner in Denver, and I totally agree that heading something to focus on, especially when it involves such expensive metals is like a form of meditation. It definitely keeps my anxiety and general stress down. Love the vid, Shane! Keep it up man.
I haven't done anything close to gold panning. I do enjoy your videos. In lockdown through March to July. I spent time sorting our front and back garden. Put a few podcasts on and got on with it.
I have had anxiety and depression for the best part of 20 years. I started panning about 5 years ago along with photography and it has helped me immensely.
In this vid you talk about it helping your anxiety, I watch your videos to help me relax after a long day at work, so relaxing, only found you about a month ago, so glad I did! Thank you for making these videos!
This has helped my anxiety a lot. We don't really have any here where i live (that i know of) so I order in some pay dirt every now and then to do. Happy I found this hobby.
Another awesome video brother!!! Gold panning is for sure my get away! And gold panning while watching your video's is even better for the anxiety. Have had two heart attacks and always need the calming effect. Thank you!!!!
Been watching your videos and wanted to thank you for taking the time to make these. As a beginner and hopefully working towards pan I h and maybe sluicing some of the creeks in my area. Your videos have given me an idea of what gold panning is. Biggest challenge now is determining what type of sluice to purchase or make. So many different brands and matting / riffle types. We have glacier deposits in this area and always wanted to be able to find a little. Your videos are always a relief to the everyday grind. You have my gratitude and thanks. Take Care and Stay Safe..!
I do ASMR on you tube for anxiety and relaxation and many people benefit from my videos, but it’s with chalk crushing and powder play. Everyone has their own escape. Glad you found yours x
Im from Argentina and have been watching your videos for a while now, cant wait till the day i get some of your paydirt to start practicing, and hopefully one day go looking for actual gold on the patagonian Andes! Your videos are always super relaxing to watch, thank you
I was so thinking about buying one of your bags then sending it to you to pan out, that's werid that I was thinking that then you post a bag of your own, love it!!!
I'm actually just getting into panning. I just got your full experience in the mail yesterday! I'm making videos of my journey into prospecting and one of the main reasons is because it's therapy for me. Dealing with ptsd and it's many associated side affects and this helps bring me back to my center. Thanks for the awesome videos
It does help with anxiety for sure. Got laid off last October not covid related just corporate greed. Always interested in prospecting never had time. Been watching your channel and Dan and Pauly too. Got me through a tough time. Thanks for the video and for your service. :)
You are correct on panning helping with anxiety and depression. It’s my happy place for sure . I also carve Diamond Willow walking sticks and that helps a lot also . Keep the great videos coming Shane . Love your adventures.
I don't live in an area with much gold (Indy area), so panning isn't an option unless I want to spend a fortune buying pay dirt. I sharpen knives to help relieve anxiety. I got a "fixed angle" system that is easier than plain stones and it really lets me drift away while I use it. Then, I have a razor sharp knife on the other side of it too. Win-win. I'm working on some sharpening content to kick off my channel soon, hopefully. Stay well, Shane.
Interesting you brought up the anxiety thing. I'm also a veteran but in the 1970's I went panning up Clear Creek to get away from the mother in law from hell. So relaxing! I wanna add that back then I never heard of things like flower gold, it was either gold dust or nuggets. We never worried about black sand, we just panned and panned it away.
Hello Shane :) It's just too cool to see your name on gold paydirt bags! Congrats on that. After all these years I still haven't got myself a gold pan but plan to. I've learned a lot about panning but lack the personal experience. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you! Much Love and respect.
I spin yarn...it's basically meditation, just like panning can be. Panning out in the sun is a help, too -- ups your Vit D and all that other good stuff. :) Doing fiber stuff though....that's awesome for in or outdoor, can do it anywhere, not something you can do with gold panning. :)
Thanks so much for making your videos! Watching you collect gold has helped with my anxiety immensely! I'm actually hoping to get panning equipment and some paydirt from you for Christmas from my fiancée!
Hey Boss Just finished The paydirt I picked up from you. I have to give you credit, I have enjoyed the anticipation and panning it out more than anything in a long time! The value is terrific, never get tired of seeing the golden smile looking back at me from the pan. The crystals ,coin and the guitar pick are an excellent touch. .7 grams and 4 pickers was awesome ,definitely a bonus bag Thanks Happy to do business with you, Hope to meet you on the Goldfields some time! P.S. flower gold is tough. Watch out for Jason and Rigby
I started about a year ago prospecting the Molalla river just SE of Molalla Oregon. I started so I had something to do while rehabilitating from 3 botched back surgery's, 2ND surgery went in walking came out paralyzed. For nearly a week I had no response by front any region of my lower self. Just after that I lost my mom to liver cancer. She was my best friend. Today, I still suffer physical limitations and very emotional about losing my mom literally months before covid-19, but panning has helped me stay somewhat sane through it all. If you are interested in prospecting the Molalla river please let me know I'd love to show you around my back yard. I grew up in this small one horse town ad I pretty much know these cascade hills like the back of my hand.
Just recently subscribed after I saw your video and I can’t resist to keep on watching of it. I had ordered and panned Gold Strike & Impossible Pay. More videos to come
I also have a question for you. When did you start panning And if you had to guess, how much gold do you think you've panned in grams, ounces, or even pounds?
Strted in 2016, and almost 100% of the gold I’ve panned is on video so I suppose you could get a very accurate number if you added up the amounts for each video 👍
Yup looks like clear creek material hahaha. Going back on Saturday to work some ground we found last weekend, its got the best gold I have come across so far. You gotta join us sometime Shane!
great tutorial, i`ve been panning for about a decade and it`s always interesting to find tweaks to my technique. thanks, man. btw, just ordered and anxiously awaiting a bag of gold strike paydirt...gonna give the pick to my son, he plays and we prospect here in Maine
Yea, a lot of black sand. I have been seeing what looks like silver, crystal tint to it. Is that the Mica. ? I ordered the complete kit. I am curious to see if I can get that 1/2 gram at expert level. It may take a while to get there. Just got going this week and no trouble with beginner, but starting to step it up a bit, that black sand and Mica, or silver, does not want to separate from the fine gold easily. These videos help. I have been going back through past shows, picking up some tips. Having fun. Thanks Shane. Be well.
I did my first panning on my channel and wanted to get better so I have been doing home Depot sand for practice after work and find I have been sleeping better even though I have not found gold in it yet 😊
Shane, while using that magnet and silver dollar tube, maybe try using a rubber ban, hair tie or a tight stretched O ring on the outside of the tube to better detach the magnetics when you pull the magnet out of the tube. Maybe patent it then? Lol greets from Pennsylvania!
I think you put it very well, find something that concentrates the mind and uses all the senses so there is no room for bad thoughts to come in. I find motorcycles work for me. Your Colorado mountains look really beautiful territory as a backdrop too
Been a subscriber for a while. Just watching your videos helps my anxiety. Ill be buying a bag of this expert and try my hand at what ive learned watching you and other prospectors. Might even try my hand at making a video haha. We'll see.
I really enjoy your videos. I have anxiety too, caused me some problems in school, but gold panning helps me calm down too considering there's gold in my pan lol. It's tuff where I am in south carolina.. I'd like to see you pan some of the river sands around here. Would help me know if I'm doing it right.
Thanks for the video! I'm learning about gold panning and mining here in Southern California, and i've been watching your videos for awhile now. I like your matter-of-fact analysis of pay dirts. To pay it forward, I will be purchasing from you in the future (going to start with the beginner package!! One quick question: Do you ever worry about blowing out the flour gold when you dry it with a heat gun?
I have anxiety also. Due to carple tunnel it is really difficult to pan now. So, i paint warhammer minis. Well lets say i give it my best. Putting them together and painting is relaxing to me. I also read a lot. Also relaxing as I can get so into a good book I can tune the world out. Speaking of minis. Do you sell your tailings and black sand? I was thinking they would make awesome basing materials.
I watch for my anxiety lol ive never done anything that pertains to this video i dont even own any gold yet i watch this type of material constantly. Fishing and yard work are my other go toos
Me and my son with autism travel the country looking for adventures. This summer we was in Colorado climbing elbert and great sanddunes. We tried panning but didn't find a single piece. This summer coming up we are driving to zion grand canyon and climbing whitney in ca. You should show us a spot to pan a few hours and actually find something. Im from ohio so it is all new to me!
Yes mindful exercises like panning gold are good for anxiety...except when you get the bug in December in Northern British Columbia. Another valid reason for buying pay dirt online maybe??? I also supplement for dopamine with L-tyrosine and Ashwaganda root extract aka the cortisol killer.
@@Klesh well too bad you didn't come further south man. I'm coming up to Arapahoe bar November 4th with some people to hit it hard. Welcome to join us that weekend if you want
Hey there Shane! I just wanted to say that your videos make me forget about all the problems in the world and help me relax and they really up my mood! I also have a question for you. Do you still have your 1st nugget or piece of gold with you? Also I have checked 1,000,001 times on your treasure hunting the states Playlist and I couldn't find a video in Texas. Do you think you would ever come down here? There is supposedly really good gold in Llano which is really close to Austin.
I practice drums. I also narrate horror stories on my small channel. It’s nice to get into a character and just be locked into another world for a few hours.
I build Gunpla. After a rough day, i can happily sit there for a good 5-6 hours. Clipping out and clipping together little bits of plastic and not think about anything other than that.
Hey Klesh always enjoy content. I watch from my tv and can't comment unless I go to my phone. Brother everyday is a battle for me but love to know more tools to use for anxiety. I hate the whole pill thing but would love to pick up more coping tools. Again man thanks for all your content wish myself I could do some panning.
Thank you for your videos, I too have PTSD and it really helps doing the panning thing. I did the sidewinder paydirt and now working on miners depot paydirt.I will post what I have found in it, thank you again I will try your paydirt next. my name is mike not marty.
Ive gone to old mining sites along some rivers and used metal dector and found some large chunks of gold that was missed because their dredge machine was set at a certain size so some of the bigger stuff was spewed out
Found your channel recently, watched a few, but didn't know you were from CO; I'm born and raised there but now in NM. I did my first bag the other day, it's sure harder than it looks, needs more practice.
Jay/Klesh, I’m a combat veteran and retired USAF and I’m trying to find something to do to relax me. High stress and anxiety is a normal for military but the civilian life just isn’t the same as the military. I hope this is going to help Thanks for the encouragement
