Hey how are you doing?! I had a question for you about that gold plated half dollar. I found a 1990 D gold plated in absolutely stunning condition. I have no idea what it is or even what it’s worth. Gold plated coins are fun to find and interesting as to why they were plated I have acquired three in my years of collecting A Kennedy half a walking liberty half and a Jefferson nickel

the toned bicentennial is silver they made a few that year....u can tell not only by the toning but there is no copper on the ridge

These are real, gold plated, but of no extra value. The plating is not significant enough to increase it's worth. I have found several of these coins, and had them examined by a jeweler. Nice for a collection though.

I've gotten the same answer from jewelers- no silver value/ gold insignificant amount. Is there a difference between mint marks of some type in plating worth?

Not to my knowledge. I believe they are a random choice, but who knows except the ones doing the plating.
