I think someone wanted to be part of a mudlarking video and planted their shell collection to see if anyone would feature it.

Si I think the first shell you found is a Welk shell, the second shell is sometimes called a turbo shell its worth about £20

That first shell was lovely!

At first glance Jules looked like Nicola due to her stripe shirt! Lol thought that it might be a mudlarking women's uniform. Great day, glad to come along.

The ribbed looking shield creature as you call it, Is the bottom of a crab it's called the apron. And that's how you can tell if it's a male or female crab by the shape of the apron. 🦀

That shell is absolutely gorgeous! And her ring find was amazing, I love the old gold!❤Not a bad trader's token either!☺️

I always loved the thrill of finding everyday forgotten treasure from the past when I was younger. Yesterday we took our puppy for his first splash in the sea and in the shingle was a broken glass bottle. I was going to put it in the bin when we went back to the car but then I realised it was a fab peice of an Aqua coloured bottle. No markings but plenty of air bubbles. It has a convexed panel on three sides . The forth side is straight.

That chap walking along I was looking for his lost scraper. 😂

The movie there filming is "Si-finds the movie" and that seen is when Si makes his millions and he comes back to where it all started to relive his memories

Random Hedge Hog finds large pile of cat food on the fore garden. Luck in the muck.

I agree with some of the others here. I don't think those shells that you guys found at night were from ballast. Sand dollars of that size are extremely hard to find intact. The shell with the spines (a snail called a lambis), the spines would have broken off if it had been used as ballast. The "creature from the deep" is part of the underside of a crab carapace know as the Pleon.

The gold ring was gorgeous. Loved it all.

As far as the shells are concerned, I have my doubts as to them being ballast. Those particular shells are hard to find - the sand dollar isn't rare, but hard to find intact - so I suspect someone got rid of a shell collection. Enjoyed this video, as always!

@ 16:35 I'm pretty sure that was a parasite... One of those things that attaches to the fishes tongue but idk for certain.

The clarity of the Thames water was amazing! It took me a few seconds to realize that you were filming through it. I always love your videos; there's so much to see, and then so much to think about. Those ever-appearing garnets, with the mystery of the holes through them? What's the true story behind them? And, just beads in general. Clay pipes, wig curlers, coins, and tokens. They are fascinating because we can date them. We can understand where they came from and what they were used for. But the beads (including the garnets)? Roman? Maybe, but maybe not. The garnets especially seem really old to me. Could they even be PRE-Roman? NOT knowing is what fascinates me about them.

OMG! What a terrific video! I can't believe Vick's luck finding that gold ring - and thought it so funny that it wasn't in the review at the end because it was still firmly on her finger. It's not going anywhere!!! Those seashells were totally awesome. I can't believe they were simply ship's ballast, because they are so beautiful. You'd pay upwards of £30 for each of those in a home decor store! The trader's token was such a great find - loved how you explained the mis-spelling on it. And as for that gorgeous necklace you've made - think I'll be making a bid! I loved seeing that you put food out for your hedgehog - a man after my own heart :) Thanks Si - I just love your channel!

Hi Si, I think the 'creature from the deep', is actually the flap from the underside of a crab shell. Some unusual finds for you all on this hunt, but the traders token is a beauty, well done guys 👍

it's a bit funny that shell ballast from tropical ports are found on the Thames..and at tropical ports one can find stone ballast from Europe along the shores there..indeed at Havana there were ballast merchants that would gather these stones and supply vessels with them..ive several in my garden that I've found

Crustacean shell at 16:30 is the “apron” of a female crab. It’s a movable part on the underside that protects the eggs.

Your shell beside the sand dollar is a spider conch.....native to the tropics...warmer waters

That big shell has been partially polished to bring out the iridescence. The one with the sand dollar is a spider conch. Smaller one looks like a murex.

When I was in South Carolina in Myrtle absolutely hundreds of the sand dollars and the best part about is if you open them up very gently there looks to be like hundreds of little Angels inside

I live in Florida and even here finding conch shells in that beautiful condition and a sand dollar that big is pretty rare. I couldnt speculate to how they got in the Thames but they are a rare find anywhere imo.

Definitely I think someone just dumped all their shells down in the water just because it's not the way they're designing their home anymore. I went to a thrift store and picked up two big bags, full of shells like that and turned my bathroom into a little Sea Haven. They look like wood bugs.

Loved your friends’ finds of that gorgeous ring, pipe and pottery pieces. You’re right - the shard with the cathedral is so perfect! And I like the marbleized pattern piece as well. I’m fairly certain that the giant ring, with only 1 stone left in, is a napkin ring. Loved your jewelry upcycle project! Such a pretty necklace and somebody will be very lucky to be wearing that! Thanks for sharing what’s going on around you on the foreshore. I enjoyed seeing the TV crew at work and it’s always such a treat to see the birds just going about their day. The one with the eel won’t be hungry for a day or two, I’d think! 😂
