Great video - love how the delusional hard-stuck 3.5 players come out of the wood work saying this is lower level even though this is literally a very recent event in a major tournament and these teams beat out plenty of high DUPR teams of various ages in this bracket to arrive to the gold medal matches. Don't entertain these trolls - everyone of them is a 5.5 in their mind but a 3.5 in reality. Recordings often look way slower especially when compared to pro play - pro play is insanely fast IRL vs. what the videos look like.
It must depend where you play, in that where I played for a 3 month stint, the 4.5's where much better than this, not to knock these guys, but it's fairly easy to see the differences, after watching 4.5 & 5.0's in tournaments of which I volunteered at.
Young guys put it together. Opponents each had solid cut spin returns. Young guy in white handled them fantastically with great drops, and his cross court, back hand dinking was near perfect.
What set the two apart was consistency: Lil man has the drop, cross court and body shot, while big brother has the deep serve/ deep return and soft touch in sneaky shots. I even saw that lob 👀 I’m sure the other team was wore out, I saw good shots too. They were just too readable!
Good example of "Don't change a winning strategy." The TX team started out picking on the younger brother, and they were (more or less) in charge of the match. Then they started spreading around their shots and the older brother came alive ... which seemed to also energize the younger brother. (Also, the TX guy in the tank top seemed to run out of steam about 2/3 through the first game. Tournaments can wear you out!) Good win for the brothers. Congratulations! Team Hanlon's videos are easy to watch as TH almost always lets us know the score. It's often difficult to hear the Ref.
@335 young guy on right was snoozing. Wasn't moving with his partner which opened up the middle. @1628 guy in black hat looks at camera with that, I can't believe these young guys are kicking our ass on film, look. That was satisfying to watch.
Sorry, but those older guys got their asses handed to them by a couple of super talented young boys. Imagine what those brothers will be in years to come!
When the ball on court obviously didn’t affect your chances of surviving the overhead slam , it’s a point of honor to intentionally hit the redo serve into the net
