We are over at a mining site and we did not expect to hit the gold this big, was just trying out a new area up in the bush, only to as we were coming downstream find a nugget just sitting in the bedrock, from there on we realised it was a gold motherlode and got target after target with the metal detector and nuggets and pickers galore! And best of all there is still ground to cover! As your watching this video we are/have been over there hopefully getting more nuggets!

Cheers, it was aye! Yeah I think all those visible pieces everywhere was thanks to some floods we had over here just before this trip and there hadn’t been anymore since, so I think those pieces were just washed straight down!

Thanks a lot, yeah it is super exciting when you get those sharp targets to then pull out a nice piece of gold! We used to never use ours either and never had any luck as we mostly prospected clay bottom rivers which are not as good for detecting, but infer we moved onto the bedrock rivers more often and got the hang of it we realised how great it can be and how it can pick up those awesome nuggets and pickers! @@nedonrockadventures590 Yeah for sure. The gold monster is bloody good for its cost, it’s on par if not outperforms almost all other higher up detectors, the two next up detectors I know of would be the Sdc2300 or the GPZ, but even those from what I have seen are only about on par for that smaller gold, they just have a bit more depth for those big nuggets, but for the price we are probably just going to stick with the gold monster for creeks and equinox for parks or if we both want to detect .

Thanks a lot! Yeah that could be a strategy actually as it would make a it possibly a tiny bit easier to hear those targets, however may be a pain carrying a good pair up safely into the bush, next time will definitley try to though, thanks for the advice!

This detector here is a Gold Monster 1000, it costs a bit over $1000. It really depends on what sort of target you have, a lot of detectors could pick up a car at 3M, in terms of the highest depth detector I know of, I think the GPZ7000 is a contendor, the GPZ cost about $10000. Cheers

The flow was a bit much yeah, I still appeared to be catching everything nicely though, we just decided it wasn't worth the time to spend ages decreasing the flow as it was still an adequete test. Cheers

we don't seem to understand what size graduation is ............ all of that stuff is flour or pickers........... i can's say much of any of it is an actual nugget............. they must have ran out of gold in aussieland......... and rewrote the rules of what size is what............ it looks like you got 1 nugget and 5 pickers and the rest is all flour gold .................... just like Vo-Gus prospecting.............

There is no official definition for a nugget, some people call pieces we wouldn’t even call pickers nuggets, by our standards most things over 1/5th of a gram we call nuggets, they are far from flour gold, like how can those 1/4 gram pieces be flour gold which is generally the term used for pieces smaller then flakes. Flour gold is the tiniest tier of gold. And trust me if you normally only find pieces 1/10th of a gram biggest on average you would be calling those nuggets too. And does the size of the gold really matter? Like New Zealand’s biggest nuggets ever are only around 100ozs, however it has still produced the most gold out of any country in the world per land area , I would much rather be finding the smaller gold here and it be twice as much and smaller then bigger pieces but only 1/2 as much overall. Cheers

I must admit though, 25 may be pushing it, but I thought it would make a much nicer title then 17 or 22, and as I said many people would still call those nuggets by miles, just depends what your used too. Cheers
