Thank you Tom's gold dirt for sending it it looks a lot like the paydirt you get fromTom only Tom's has a lot more garnet and Black Sand In it Tom's is challenging but fun. Garnet dust is also used in high pressure water jet cutting of metal and other materials. I find garnets on my property from time to time. Cheers! Chris.

@@insanity3200 And pay the 10% ebay fees and 2% paypal fees also. It's a wash unless you have a huge or very unique nugget that you can get a large premium for. Better off finding someone to sell to in person, and melting all the small stuff for scrap price.

I found a big piece of jasper laying on the top of one of the cross beams for our fence in our garden today... I have no clue how it got there but it was just a light green stone sitting there waiting to be picked up :D Once I get my new car (it's only been 6 months without one -.-) I'm going to go somewhere and try to find some cool stones/gems. I really want to get a cutting station but welcome to being perpetually broke/unemployed/disabled. With all the flour gold you find, you should make yourself a little Miller table. You really need to lay a tarp under your panning station.

You can heat up the bit you think is mercury covered gold with a piezo lighter and the mercurry will evaporate. Don't breathe the toxic fumes!

I can’t get into panning because I have the patience of a child at times but I appreciate the video because my wife wants to try panning. I literally just got home from Dahlonega Georgia prospecting all the dirt I found looks very similar even have a couple buckets to pan out did not find very much gold did find a decent amount of black sand there is a lot of mica everywhere

I saw a gold panning hack recently you probably already know. Find a big culvert in a gold rich river and pan the dirt trapped in the culverts riffles. Instant sluice!

Ebay fees, paypal fees, shipping, and income tax.. that guy is losing money selling it (vs current value of holding it). I'd have to guess its a prospector that found a way to sell off his/her collected gold. Pretty smart in that aspect, and certainly good for the buyer!

Off topic question, I was panning in a local creek, i was down to a small amount of black sands, some amber sand( not blond but a darker amber color) crystals and tiny silver particles ( about the same size as the sand grains) I couldn’t get the silver stuff to separate from the black sands( used the tap method)since silver doesn’t look that way in nature, the only conclusion i could come up with was that it was very fine mercury. it that possible? I started finding this stuff about a foot/foot and a half down, behind a boulder in a glacier sediment area.A m i just spending too much time staring in a pan and seeing things? ( so far i have found a musket ball and a horse shoe so finding strange things isn’t all that unusual) Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I find mercury once in a while, it was used for years in the separation of gold and mercury right in the rivers, so there's lots of mercury out there.

Why when at home do you use classification pans, and on the river use the thing that looks like a slide? Sorry I know nothing about gold prospecting, but do binge your videos.

I use both on the river. Classify and Sluice box (that's the slide thing). No running water or room to do that at home, so just pan it out. A sluice box is normally used to run many buckets of material. These paydirt videos are usually only 1 pound of dirt per video.
