Bulldog is a hood ornament. sometimes you get a bad unit, trick is to get more good than bad ones. I don't care what business you are in, you are going to have a bad day once in a while. I just look at it like the first unit, you had a breakdown so it cost you money that day but it was only a $20 breakdown and it didn't ruin the whole day, you were able to go to the next job and make up for it and pay for both units so you are still up for the day. yep, be nice to people, you just never know who they really are. I had a storage unit owner here that ran an outside one too and whenever a person fell behind i had first chance at buying the cars/equipment that were stored there instead of running them thru auctions. we got along great and he turned me onto other great deals and some were free just to haul the things away so he didn't have to deal with it. quite often he just wanted them clean/gone right away so he could get that spotted rerented to a paying person. i am also a scrapper and i took care of keeping a campground clean. they had a junk spot to put things i just came and got every few weeks and then i would pull old trailers out for free at the season end when people wanted to terminate their lease/stuff didn't want to move them. some i just stripped and scrapped others i fixed and sold for up to $1900. well anyways i get a call from his new manager(this was the fourth one since he owned the park) wanted me to stop in that day if i could and when i got there he told me you must really know the owner quite well and he told me to ask you if you wanted his trailer for free, move it by friday because he had a new rv being delivered that weekend. the manager said he would take it and move it to a unused back lot and the owner said no i want steve to have it for hauling all the scrap ones out he wanted me to have a decent one for a change even if i wanted to just sell it that it was fine with him, just wanted to be nice to me for helping them out at the campground for free but i was making good money hauling the other stuff out. anyways by being nice i ended up getting a trailer i sold for $5,000 for free. Just never know what others will offer when you are nice to them no matter what business you are in. If you want to be a dick, don't expect repeated business be nice and you might get more than you expected back.
