I love this. The content is so honest and all things explained are so relevant to everyone who does this as we've all had 1 or more of these inconveniences. A great reminder to slow down and enjoy what you're doing if the job doesn't need to be done efficiently. We have such a cool craft and should be enjoyed. Thanks buddy. Always enjoy your uploads Hope the family is well God bless
Wow, that single hole quick fix for ladle worked well 😂 If you had heated the perforated stainless steel with another torch, i suspect your idea would have worked also. Thanks for showing the real parts that you don't expect.
i know i got burned by an exploding pewter pot on my head arms and neck, i was wearing no eye protection either but i saw the bubbling and ducked and saved my face, very scary
Excellent video, my friend! Each frame teaches a valuable lesson. I faced similar challenges with washing materials in lead, but mixing them with charcoal powder helped to solve the issue to some extent. (Need to give the sugar a try) Sending you my best wishes for your well-being
2:00 get a big steel spoon with holes in the spoon, like for cooking sauces. Use that to separate the liquid metal from the slag, right inside the hot crucible. Thats how i remove lead from the steel clips of wheel weights.
Привет коллега , мне показалось что с новой печкой работа шла не удобная . В такой печи кислорода мало , почему не использрвали продув кислородом , окисьление ведь в разы быстрее .
Great video, but way to many steps. You could have crushed them all. Torched them till red. Do a couple nitric acid boils. Then add your aqua regia. Denox. Drop with SMB. Wash with boiling water 3 times. Wash using boiling HCl. Then wash with boiling water again and melt. But use a clean melting dish. The ones you are using are full of oxides that can transfer to your gold. My $.02. Cheers!
@@rickreuter4218 Thank you! Before going for the lead bath I did a sample yield test using NaOH, followed by HNO3 and finally AR leach. Despite being only a small test batch (150g),it took me ages to get it done. I’ll post the video on the process some other day. The long story short - it took me much more time, money and reagents using the wet method compared to the hot one.
How much lead did you use for this amount of chips?
вот такого типа - Stainless Steel Filter Oil Pot Food Filter Cookware Colander Fried Filter Kitchen Strainer Baking Cooking Tools
The video is very good. I started following your channel. Would you recommend an acid that whitens the metallicity of black iron powder without damaging it ?
@@OwlTech333 No, I don't want to take the rust off. To remove and whiten the blackness of the iron in the sea sand... I've read in old chemistry books that they've done this with organic substances, but it's very difficult... It will be very nice if I can whiten it with an acid that does not damage the metal
Cool vid, but that repeating audio sample is like getting teeth pulled after the first 5 minutes or so. I'd rather hear you talk, and the gas from the furnace than half hour of that. But do keep up the good vids!
@@richardhulbert9480 failure is the only way we truly learn. Success is just confirmation. Prof I had in college was MUCH more intersted in what we found as mistakes and learning points than just seeing more good data on whatever.
Merhaba. Video için çok teşekkürler. Ben bir çok defa . Kurşun cevheri galenden . Gümüş kurtarmak için. Kupelasyon u denedim . Ama . Galiba yanlış teknik kullandim bir türlü kurşun u tamamen oxit hale getiremedim . Oxsidayon için kupel potasına . Koyduğunuz . Toprak ,ve toz hangi malzemedir . Bildirirmisiniz . Kurşun cevherlerinden gümüş u ayirmam gerekiyor bunun ekonomik olduğu nu düşünüyorum
Galena is lead sulphide. You have to turn it to lead oxide (litharge) first by process called roasting, then you have to reduce the litharge to lead metal with carbon source, then you can cupel it
merxu.com/en/offer/airprop-rothenberger-burner-14ab990a-b9e1-41fd-b038-05bace7152b0/ this is the model of my both burners, the one that powers the furnace and the one I’m using for cupelling
