Almost three years ago I created a park on Planter Coaster in it one of my lands was called Frontier Falls and within that land I had a family multi-launched coaster named Gold Rush. When I first saw this ride I was jaw dropped. Is someone from the Dayton Manor team trolling Planet Coater parks for ideas 😂

I think this has been one of the best years for theme parks in Britain with all the new coasters and rides for this year and we still have more to come with the new flat ride at Alton and possibly a new water ride opening at Flamingo Land this year.

I am glad it has been so well received, I was worried it would be too similar to Accelerator. Everything has come together so well, Frontier Falls gives me American Adventure vibes (all they need is someone being shot off the balcony) and even better the old Jungle Palladium building lives on hosting Sherriff Showdown

Can't wait to get back and try this ride out! It looks so much fun! I would love to see Drayton do some more rides specific merch like you get at other parks. Some Gold Rush, Wave, maelstrom ,Accelerator, etc shirts would we awesome! Fingers crossed for Pirates adventure to come back soon!!

Drayton is slowly turning into the Best family theme park in the country. Fair play to them I know a lot of people whinge about the direction they are going in but for me we have plenty of thrill parks but no great family parks where virtually every ride my 7 year old can ride. Well done Drayton 😊

It been a long build but it’s brilliant to see the publics reaction to Gold Rush

Next year we will hopefully see Flying Dutchman be moved to vikings and it be replaced with a flat ride, like the 5 year plan suggests, the Saloon be opened as a smokehouse bbq restaurant and Accelerator finish the retheme. After than Drayton Manor needs to focus on getting Pirate Adventure back and running, even ifs it not pirate adventure, it’s a giant building which has a lot of potential.

This is such a good coaster and actually, I was in the queue for this ride when who do I see filming a video on the ride...you guys! 😁 trying to see if I can spot myself in your video but no luck! Anyway, really loved this ride. So fun.

What an amazing coaster was there for the press event front seat and backwards first such a great twist that you don’t know which cycle you are getting it doesn’t alternate either saw 3 forward and then 2 backwards great POV.

i went on gold rush yesterday and it was actually brilliant,it was so fast and exciting and i was not expecting the backwards part!! 😮😮

We were told on Wednesday they are going to be having some specific Gold Rush merchandise in the shop. Such a wonderful park I would like to see a family wooden coaster I think in the future with a pirate theme 40:38 .

Drayton Manor have done a great job with this new area, i think it will look even better next year when they have finished theming accelorator and have completed the Saloon. A panning for gold area would be good if they could fit it in also they could move the Hillbilly Shooting Game into the area as well if they could find a spot for it. I love how it doesn't have a dark theme. With a 1m height restriction, it looks like a great family coaster

The area looks really nice aprt from Blasting Barrels. It doesnt look as good as it did when it was Drunken Barrels personally. Its practically empty inside it. Remember the banners, the giant table, and the Woman Holding the Beer Pints? It just seems really bland now. Really like what they've done with the buildings opposite of Accelerator, they adda lot of character to the area personally. Hopefully they'll theme the cafe inside it soon, as it looks pretty bland in there currently. I think The Haunting is fine as it is, its quite far from the main street and blends in quite well and its quite a nice transition from the wild west theme to the 1996 theme. I remember riding it earlier the season honestly this is the best version of the ride I've been on! I adore it! Doctor X is so much better than Dr Ghostman! Love the music too! Everyone in my ride was loving it too, it nearly rivals hex now IMO! The ride is nearly 30, so it'd be cool to see the park celebrate that with some TLC. I think the only ride that sticks out currently it accelerator, so hopefully they'll paint it up to fit in more. Havent ridden Gold Rush yet, but it looks pretty good!

Gold Rush is definatley the best family coaster in the UK and Frontier Falls with how it has been finished off is one of the best themed areas in the UK in a park that is one of the best presented and looked after theme parks in the UK at the moment!

Got 2 rides on it today on the forward setting out of the station its defo the best family coaster in the uk, better than 13!

I’d love it if in these reviews you pointed out more of the disability access. It’s always a shame when the wheelchair access skips the best theming or pre show, and if I know that ahead of time, sometimes I go through the normal queue as far as I can first just to see everything.

You should get yourselves to Gloucester fair over the next 2 weeks - it’s pretty average but does have a couple of big rides, not only that, you could go round the cathedral (some of Harry Potter was filmed there Charlotte 🙂) and film it for sandbrook adventures 👌🏻

I'm so happy that you had a great time on Gold Rush! Everyone seems to enjoy it and that's heartwarming. Also, face-cam POV seems to give the ride justice, as opposed to regular POV that makes it look a bit slow (although you kinda cheated by asking/knowing what the cycle would be on your second lap, haha)

Do you think we will ever see Pirate Adventure return? It was on of my favourite rides a Drayton Manor. Gold Rush looks great! Do you also think UK theme parks are running scared with the potential Universal announcement imminent? And do you think this is why we are seeing all this investment all of a sudden?

More coasters need to list the max height! I'm 1.8m and get pretty nervous on all the rides

Just felt like mentioning about the netting and all. Its always confused me that all new merlin coasters have netting. But nemmy has absolutely none when that goes other the paths a few times. Always confused me. It makes sense on hyperia or the smiler but thats it imo

Tricky question for you and Charlotte shaun. Which ranks highest for both of you hyperia or gold rush. In your own opinions. BTW I have voted for you guys at the theme park awards which I believe are happening on September 19th hope you might be going to that as poor old digital dan was the only one there out of himself jack tpw and someone else last year think jack was so busy with stitches scare maze at Thorpe Park last year

I know Hyperia will win the new ride of 2024 but for the theming and if I’m right a world 1st coaster this should really get gold at the awards. Drayton Also should get the uk theme park of the year with the amount of money they spent on: Bringing Terence back into Thomas land. Frontier falls theming with all buildings and rides been re-themed. New 4D movie Shockwave new train with the whole station and queue line re-paint with theming elements added outside the queue entrance. And the icing on the top Gold rush. Accelerator is gonna close after the fireworks event and is gonna be unavailable to the start of the main 2025 season. Rumours also point to that the Flying Dutchman is the ride that’s gonna be moved to the Vikings area and re-themed with a new flat ride taking its place. Which I hope is a new sit down drop tower. As for Pirate adventure they are currently removing the Ivy off the front of the building.

The new Frontier Falls area and the Gold Rush coaster looks absolutely beautiful, bravo to the park!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩❤️❤️💯 It makes me wonder what will Drayton Manor Resort open as their next major investment, we’ll just wait and see.

I may just have to make a visit to here after all, I reckon it’ll be easier to visit on my last day rather than trying to get in on my travel day.

I think next year for 2025 we will see Flying Dutchman be removed and replaced with a new flat ride, like the 5 year plan says. The Saloon to open as a smokehouse bbq restaurant and Accelerator to be finished regarding the retheme for the new coaster. Once all that is done, the park NEEDS to focus on reopening the beloved Pirate Adventure

I can't believe they got rid of apocalypse that was my favourite 😔

Middle of summer holidays, they opened a brand new ride and the park is open on weekdays from 10:30 -17:00? 6,5 hours of operation in peak season? That's just sad. Was looking into making a trip from the main land but it's just not worth it.

Interesting that they can still run two trains at a time even with the two settings
