Quesnel Forks (#8): After mining several tons of gold, Chinese miners returned to China with their riches. Several years later they returned only to find that their landmarks had been destroyed by fire. After 70 years of searching, the site has never been located again.

Thank you for posting these shows. I used to watch Gold Trails every morning and have a great difficulty finding complete episodes.

Quesnel Forks is an amazingly well preserved ghost town on the back road to Baskerville. The preservation society of Likely deserve a thank you for all their efforts. I too visit it every year, must admit when I first went there it had a feel of a true deserted Ghost Town now, not so much - actually saw a motorhome there last year... Once again, a big thank you to Colin for posting these episodes, having a great time viewing.

I hope bill barlee had a chance to see the restorations done at the forks . They are phenomenal! Was just there last weekend and everything including the cedar chinking or siding pieces the redid authentically.

That oddly shaped bottle is to keep the cork wet and swollen which keeps the contents from spoiling.

It was produced by CHBC, the local Kelowna TV station serving the Okanagan. CHBC is now Global Okanagan, I believe.
