Seems to be a bug with the comments section sorry folks. Ill try to pin this, so you're all aware. Please feel free to comment, hopefully they become visible to everyone soon
Why do you take apart your sluice box when your water is running? By taking it apart while the water is running, the low-pressure zones become high-pressure zones again, causing your gold to flow out of the box again. I really think you should check your rock tailings. I love mining videos on RU-vid! I have never seen a miner disrupt his sluice box when the water is running. It gives me the when I see you do it.
You'll just have to trust me on that one mate, but seen as this is a comment I receive quite regularly, ill actually do a video on it, and we can all bust a few myths 👌🏿
Bloody awesome, that is sooo good! I love a trommel, my trommel is about to have its shake down run on this Sunday 🤞. Hopefully it all goes well, I don't think I will go as well as that. But ripper effort, thanks for the adventure ❤it 😊 Cheers Andy
I don't know about that. Just me and my dog, I am nearly 60 years old. Bits that hurt big time. Plus the shake down run is in an area that has very fine gold ,plus mercury! But I will definitely give it a crack! Cheers Andy
Yes, it captures all the fine stuff for sure. I have also built myself a retort and works well. Cleaned a bit up before in my videos. I also keep all the fine gold ,then smelt it into a button. 1 day it will be my million dollar bar 🤣 (long way off yet). I think your channel is 1 of the most genuine RU-vid guys in OZ. Love what you do, keep it up. Cheers Andy
Thanks mate, I appreciate that. I'm aiming for genuine in the vids. The way the gold price is going lately, a little may be worth a lot one day. So your million dollar bars aren't out of the question brother 🤟🏿
Nice job, how good is that bleed valve on the pump, reminds me of my bathroom in the 80’s.. nice to have some water to run the trommel, thanks for sharing
Cheers Jeff. Yeah the top tap is a ripper isn't it, it came back to me like that after my friend Jeff borrowed it recently believe it or not 😆. It did have a modern 1/4 turn washing machine tap on it when I dropped it off. But I like the old one heaps better haha
2.25 grams for fifty buckets makes me feel a bit better about my last efforts . But man your gold is sooo much chuncker and prettier than the flakey stuff I get over this side of the hill.I remember making multiple trips to cart my trommel in and out of spots too. What a pain when you dont have enough fall to run a river sluice. great video as always Bryan.
It certainly is beautiful gold hey Jethro! Were only about 500m from the structure it shed from, so that's why. Seems there is another reef close by also, purity of approx 75% if I had to guess. This gold looks to be 97%+. Which is very nice colour indeed 😀
Had that happen a few times over the years 😅. Not for a long time though, I'm careful with the positioning. Finding the perfect balance between a safe spot for it to sit, that's also close enough to the water to reduce load on the engine and in turn, save on fuel costs 😁
Cheers mate! GOD drives the turmoil I've been told. Gold, Oil and Drugs 🤣. But a little petrol motor like a GXH50 drives the Trommel. Spider coupled to a worm drive reduction gearbox, and chain driven from there.
Good stuff mate, are you testing your sluice tailings? If it was me I wouldn't be altering the flows with my hands while the water is still streaming..
Thanks Darren! I didn't sample my fine tailings this time, no. I rarely do, to be honest. I stopped worrying about losing gold about a decade ago. Did a heap of experimentation with sluices, flow, and feed rates to establish recovery rates. The end result was clear. Gold doesn't like leaving the box. Bugger all of it even makes it into the blue miners moss, let alone coming out the end. And I always "swish" out my boxes by hand to reduce volume. Many years ago I lost a big flat flake by being a bit aggressive with my swish. But that was in a clean up sluice with 10 or so grams packed into it. Like I said, gold ain't easy to kick out of a good box 😁
@@TheGoldmansChannel thanks for the reply mate, I realise you know what your doing! Your mat set up would rarely loose gold, and you would of tested the F out of it, I'm just envious I can't use a trommel or highbanker legally up north🤣enjoy your videos mate👌
Nsw I gather? I feel for you mate! The rules up there suck. No doubt Vic will suffer a similar fate before too long either. But I won't stop diggin' either way 😝
Notice the leak in my top spray bar early in the vid? Trommel wasn't set up correctly and the barrel rubbed a hole into the pvc. I got dang wet on day one, fixed it that night though 🤣🤣
Finally 😢 Where the hell have you been friend 😊? I love watching your videos! OMG I can't wait to get wet and dirty again. So I decided to go back to school at age 46 to study and become a geologist. I'm just getting started in school. I already know most of it from my own experience. It's the stuff I don't understand when I look at the land that I want to know to become a better prospector and miner. One day at a time and I'll eventually get there. Until then I'll watch how it's done and watching you inspires me to keep going. I won't lie tazzy boys and Jeff Williams are also an inspiration. At least y'all don't post fake gold painted rocks for click bait on RU-vid. Thank you and good on you mate 👍 Rock on!
Took me hours to meticulously paint all those tiny specks of sand with the metallic gold paint too Shiney! But don't tell anyone please 😉🤣. Good to be back, I had considered giving away the videos. It's quite time-consuming! But I couldn't let you down man. Not when you're working so hard to better yourself as an adult academic. Good on you, keep it up!
Crazy that you disturb your sluice before getting a catch baison under the end of it. picking up the black mat over the v mat likly lost some gold and also change in velosicty of water goofs up the retention behind the riffels. Like your trommel very much. Seems to me water flow under the riffels through the miners moss will hinder gold retention. I used a highbanker with 35 feet of sluice and friend were amazed that I had gold all the way down it. Have to compliment you however not kicking over the concentrates pan hauling the pump and trommel passed it, that's my usual trick. Curious would it not been more productive to have used time spent paning cons on the creek running another 20 minutes through the trommel?
Video coming soon to hopefully put an end to this myth mate. I've been slowly aggravating people with that one over time, with the intent to clear that issue up 😁
