United’s journey this season has been reflective of the 1989/90 season when they finished 13th in the League (5 points off relegation), but their season was salvaged by winning the FA Cup which gave Alex Ferguson his first trophy and a platform to build upon. Since ETH has been in charge, he has won 2 trophies in successive seasons, which in terms of silverware is only second behind Man City. Remember last season United and ETH also qualified for the UCL. Surely now he should be allowed a similar platform to build upon these achievements.
1 Carabao Cup and 1 FA cup, meanwhile he got embarrased in the UCL finishing 4th, plays horrible football, got one of the worst Premier League finished in Man United history but sure, he won some domestic knock out competitions. I truly hope he stays so I can continue laughing 😂😂😂
@@1997lordofdoomDuring an insanely unlucky season with players in bad form, insane number of injuries, and off the field drama and he still won more trophies than arsenal, spurs, and many others. He did amazing for what he was given

@@sergiomercado4859 Arteta won an fa cup and 8th place in 2020 which is our troll years, literally some of our worst years, winning the FA Cup is a min to save face after a shit season.. no one thought Arteta was amazing then... we had so many people saying Arteta out which was obviously wrong... I think the same has to apply to ETH but I don't know.. his attitude is questionable, he gets very egotistical, theres a reason the players want him out, even seeing Sancho in the UCL Final now just shows he is very authoritarian and needs to be more of a player's coach like Arteta or Klopp, he does not have the charm of Pep to be acting that way
As an Everton fan I would say this. Ten Hag is better than what’s currently available IF Ten Hag is sacked this week don’t be surprised if Chelsea appointment Ten Hag as their manager. Ten Hag will win you the premiership if you just stick with him and get rid of the shit players that’s don’t care for the shirt

@@Hamilton8timeChampion i will repeat again 😂 i would take whoever fits THE WAY INEOS wants to play.. would you want ineos to keep a manager if he doesnt fit their style? that makes no sense.. if ten hag fits ineos style then cool.. if he doesnt then thank you and goodbye 👋 the only reason i cannot give you a name is because they havent really specified how they want to play… but for the final time.. IMO keeping him should only come down to if HE FITS THE WAY THEY WANT TO PLAY… notice none of your reasons for turning down jose, conte, poch etc has nothing to do with what the owners maybwant or how they want to play.. stop ignoring the most important thing… the only thing that decides a good replacement or not is if the manager fits the style they want.. what would be the point keeping a manager that diesnt fit the owners style? (assuming ten hag doesnt)
Yeah. Winning a trophy with the massive injury problems united has had this season is impressive? Hes for sure gonna do better next year no matter what just cause of healthy players
@@sleepyy93a manager that suits the way INEOS wants ti play gojng forward 🤦🏾♂️ but nah lets keep ten hag regardless of that 😉 just like glazers who never had a plan 😂😂😂
@@tf2368 and the youth. So you want a spine I guess they will persist with Onana then you have Martinez Mainoo Bruno Hojland down the spine. I presume Shaw will come back fit with Harry Anass deputising. Dalot will go back to right back Willy Kambwala will a partner Marrinez Garnacho and Amad will play wide. It’s up to INEOS to fill the squad supplemented by the treble winning youth team.
We need to keep ten hag cos he has the passion to take us back to glory days. He's developing young talent. He's winning trophies with a shit squad that had the most injuries in the pl. Yes we had a awful season but we've been hit hard at the back and that has really cost us. 15 different centre back pairings that have not started more than 3 games together. No left back for the whole season. Cut him some slack. The manager is not the problem we need a squad rebuild. After that we can work on consistency and then challenging for the title. But this takes time so we have to be patient. Sacking managers every 2 seasons is clearly not working. Stick with ten hag! We need stability.
As a fan of a rival club, I have no idea why you would want to keep him. Even with this underwhelming league season (congrats on the FA cup), Man U over-performed on underlying numbers (say what you will they do have some truth behind them) and had a god awful defence. Matches were never controlled - see all the points you lost in the dying minutes of games. As a rival fan I'm happier if you keep him than get rid for these reasons.
Disrespectful media, did they have the same energy toward Arteta when he was languishing for years with Arsenal? Yeah we played poorly this year but did you see our injuries? Last year with all the drama he still got us third in the league and two cup finals while winning one. That was in his first damn year, did they forget that? This year with all the injuries, we still got FA cup beating Liverpool along the way and then Man City in the final. Do you realize we haven't had a LB the whole damn year or a consistent CB pairing and you wanna know why we been getting scored on. Look at our damn injury list, it's insane. I swear people don't have any brains, you can only do so much with what you got. You need players to win, every team is stacked in the PL. 3 finals and two cups in two years is damn good and it takes time to rebuild when your team has been shit for years. Give the man his time and back him in the windows. Every year they wanna sack a manager and then we go through the same shit again and again.
It's surely logical that Eric Ten Hag deserves another season. A true gentleman, and a very good, promising manager. For goodness sake, he's just put 2 lovely trophies in the cabinet!!
It’s a very revisionist take. Shaw, varane and dalot were fit for the first half of the season and by then united were out of the top 4 race and out of europe.
u don’t sack someone without a plan, chelsea will really struggle to get someone better than poch, maybe poch wasn’t good enough but it’s all relative. It’s like when chelsea sacked tuchel and just went and got potter who had a good few weeks in charge, then they sacked potter with a quarter of the season to go and got lampard in like they may aswell put up with mediocrety for a bit longer rather than replacing it with rubbish
May as-well sack Ten Hag now… INEOS have their mind made. They’ll only sack him once the season is underway to get the manager of their choosing. They obviously weren’t expecting to win the final.
1. Carabao Cup is not a major trophy. I mean comeon. 2. League position, points etc don't show a true reflection of a season. Goal difference does. -62 GD. Thats absolutely insane. 3. Arsenal showed amazing trust in keeping Arteta and the season before we right in it and again this year.
Nah mate. Finishing 8th with -1 GD is part of the project. You know you have to reach an all time low before starting to crawl back.🤣 And dont forget all those pasky injuries! As if Newcastle and Chelsea didnt had even more and finished above us. We have to trust in Mr. Wafflebridge and the process. He played the game you know. He surely knows what he is talking about. Prats like me simply cant see the bigger picture. You need a big brain like Marks to wrap your head around it.
@@ShinnaDEW and what did Newcastle and Chelsea win this year? What european football did Chelsea have to participate in? How many more points did Newcastle have? Answer those questions and think. Well, answer once you stop being in your feelings over another man calling you a prat 🤣🤣
@@leespn4396 You want some answers? Ok here we go. It doesnt matter if CFC or NC are 10points, 1point or only 1 goal ahead. We still finished in 8th with -1 GD. They still had more injuries then us. In terms of expected points and goals over the season we should be bottom half of the table. We overachieved in that regard with getting 8th! It doesnt change the fact we droped out of UCL Group Stage and european football entirely against a danish farmers league club. And Galatasaray with a squad worth not even a quarter compared to United. A club that spend 33mil last summer on all his transfers. Letting a turkish club get the first win in a UCL Game on english ground. Oh and just btw. i wasnt called a prat by Mark. Because i dont superchat nor do i using the chat during his streams at all. I used it as an example for how he deals usualy with people having a different opinion. 👍 That we managed to get europa league by winning the FA Cup is nice. And it helps. But it doesnt change any of the other facts. Just because Poch got Chelsea 6th by a lucky winstreak at the end of season doesnt change the fact they were midtable for most of the season. His subs were awful and most of the fanbase called for his head for like 30 league games. So its even more embarrasing how our season went over all.
Domestic Cups are not important, *THAT* is why teams rotate in the early rounds, nobody does that with the CL or the PL, because they *MATTER* .The domestic cups are just a nice-to-have. The FA Cup & the League Cup are opportunities for small clubs.
2 years 2 titles. What more do people want, to win the league in the first two years? Arsenal were cooking so much and still won nothing, liverpool didn't win it on 99 points. Clubs can't all win the premier league at once, city arsenal united liverpool. I think ten hag is doing his absolute best.
"Listen, Man Utd might not thank me but get the contract out, put it on the table. Let him sign it, let him write whatever numbers he wants to put on there, given what he's done since he's come in. ETH's at the wheel, man. He's doing it.”
With all due respect. It really was not a good season.. United finished 8th this season (behind Chelsea who also dealt with injuries) And got knocked of the UCL group stages to Copenhagen The FA cup win is nice but it shouldn't blind you about what happened this season
Even last season ,the so called" good" season had 9 defeats including 7-0,6-0 and4-0 results left+right. He has never been the guy .Also he hasn't ' nurtured ' young talent but ran them into the ground !!
It depends on what the board value more. Better premier league position or domestic trophies like carabao or fa cup?? If van gaal got the sack, ten hag would be lucky to remain at the c
I think they were gonna sack him regardless but after seeing the reaction from the fans after the final whistle, as well as the rightful backlash at the media; ineos are backtracking on their decision. I'm confident ten hag will stay but the fact that it is taking this long is very worrying. It will delay the start of the summer work.
Lol so sacking ten haag is telling the next manager what, oh if you don’t finish top 4 in one season and win 2 trophies you’re sacked. Would be insane to see what a manager who hasn’t managed top flight football could do with a squad of stuck up inconsistent players.
As a City fan, Man U need to keep Ten Haag. Manchester United have been struggling to find someone who'll bring the club back to the days of Sir Alex and they're throwing out the man who has been doing that, slowly but surely. Man U is not an instant success kind of project and the owners need to understand that.
I think United fans should focus more on HOW they play and what footballing idead they want than focussing on trophies alone. This has been the worst United side I have ever witnessed when it comes to scoring goals and playing good football
This is not just about ETH but the club moving forward over a number of years. We now have a structure above ETH who will decide who the best Manager/Head Coach will be for the system that will best suit the club moving forwards. If it is ETH then great but it will come with a reduced input in player purchases- this is the right way so we are not left with LVG, Jose etc individuals but players who have been chosen for a system moving forwards despite who the manager is. TUS needs to be better than just saying ETH in without a more detailed analysis of what the bigger picture is. To hear Ineous out when they have just started is ridiculous. Let’s hope ETH keeps his job but. In full agreement of the vision of the club.
Ten Hag has to stay. Really? If you are happy with third to 8th-placed finishes with an FA Cup or League Cup a season thrown him, you keep Ten Hag. If you want to win the title and the UCL, Ten Hag has to go. He is just not that level.
It's deplorable the way Eric is been treated. It's disrespectful. What manager would want to work under that regime. I feel the only manager coming in that door will only come for the money. A four year contract that they will work possibly two of.
I think Mark's "who do you think we are" argument is his most convincing here. Prima facie, Ten Hag's results in the league are bad - sure. But anyone who has a brain will realise that he's actually been incredibly successful for this team. To win 2 trophies in the last two years, with another FA cup in between is astonishing considering the context of this team and how many players simply don't belong in this club anymore. If we the fans were told at the beginning of the season that Shaw, Martinez, Varane, Malacia, Mount, Martial and Lindelof would all miss most of the season, any one of us would be content with an 8th place finish and astonished by an FA cup victory. The fact of the matter is the squad has needed a proper exodus since Ole took charge (up for debate at what point the squad needed cleaning out, but there are still stragglers from the Mourinho era that shouldn't be there), and it still hasn't been done. Only when that's done, and only when Ten Hag starts underperforming with his desired starting XI can we even begin to question sacking him. He might not be the most desirable person for the job right now, but I don't think we can begin to figure that out until we see how he performs with the actual team he wants.
People who compare artettas achievements to ETH in his first years have to answer if Artettas talent ID was also as clueless as ETHs? There are valid reasons for wanting ETH to be gone. 14 season losses, UCL humiliation in a very lucky group draw. Our cup run was blessed by the draws. When people are blaming the issues they conveniently leave out other clubs who have injury issues, also the amount of injuries picked up in training AND how ETH has shipped potential replacements for injured players on loan. He made so many bad calls, yet gets carried by goldbridge and his stans
Sorry Goldilocks, one swallow doesn't make a summer. Ten Hag ain't ever going to win us the Premier league in 10 years .... simples. We're not a Cup team. What makes you think you know better than Dave Brailsford, Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox and Dan Ashworth.
Starting to not trust ineos. Maybe it would have been better to lose in their eyes. Leaking news 24hrs before Cup final comes like self sabotage. How we won this cup despite all this is amazing
One game where he get the tactics right and suddenly all forget how we all season have struggled very very badly against less good opponents - fact is ETH is a lucky man he even got to the final (Coventry remember!?) We've finished 8th ffs! We've got a negative goalscore, we've conceeded multiple chances against us every game, list goes on ... and now ETH is "a genius". It's a fuc.... joke!
I knew this debate will after a gaze work win against Mancity 🤔you can't judge Ten hag on just one match, the bigger picture is we were shit and we finished 8th in the league🥺💔
