as someone who works on an island that one of the housewife franchises traveled to, and works closely with the tourism team who organizes these things, Bravo works with the Department of Tourism on the various islands and/or locations to get trips sponsored and will settle for what they can get.... So the island tourism department will say "yes, we'd love for you guys to come here and show off our region" and then they go to the hotels or luxury villas on the island looking for someone to sponsor their stay and that's where the housewives end up staying. Same with the outings that they go on during the trips --- all organized by the tourism department for that region. Same with the gifts that the wives get. Often sponsored by the various tourism departments or affiliates involved with promoting the region.
Tim and Alex were definitely doing that thing where you’re having a fight but everything you’re really fighting about is sitting just below the surface and every word said explicitly isn’t even coming close to touching what the REAL issue is. And honestly all of that seemed to mostly come from Tim, who clearly wasn’t expressing what his problems with their dynamic were. You could tell from the hat situation on that that was the case; that was so emblematic of their entire dynamic. For him the hat became a symbol. It didn’t even matter if he liked the hat or not; once it began to represent something else to him, he doubled down on it because now what was at stake was her acceptance as him as a person and his (completely passively communicated) boundaries of how he wanted to be treated. But he never said any of that outright, so in every conflict, they were living in two completely different worlds, fighting about two completely different things. And I don’t even think he was aware of this lol
In the convo about Jenna vs Lisa for the Ultimate Housewives Award, I think you need to consider what you get out of the franchise. Not all franchises are created equal. With SLC, I expect drama with a goofy energy. With Beverly Hills, I expect wealthy celebrity-adjacent wives who give sus frenemy energy and big stakes. With Potomac, I expect petty, hilarious, sometimes below the belt antics. With Miami, I expect tropical colorful wealth with a touch of telenovela-style drama. Etc. Etc. Now, with the RHONY Reboot, I expect fashion and big city vibes. It's Sex and the City meets the L Word. And, so, Jenna is an epic housewife for THAT franchise.
Honestly, I think this episode gave Mark the bach edit BUT after his one on one he's not outgoing enough to get the crown. It would be so dull and I LOVE MARK! I know everyone wants it to be Charles but he's an acquired taste and it would be hard to cast for him in that age bracket. Get ready for Johnathan or Pascal as Golden Bachelor! This isn't my choice, Im just trying to think like the greedy producers and casting.
