@clarisamagdaleno8548 mine have been prolific. I was lucky enough to be gifted them years ago, and they have weathered our midwest winters. I do understand the cacti funk, I've had quite a few fallen succulents and the like.

I prefer the red ones. I always say I'm going to my neighbors a couple of blocks to buy some from them. Esas tunas se miran deliciosas. Dangerous. I would eat them before making the water. My husband loves prickly pear water. He won't eat the fruit because of the seeds (same with guava).

Since the original recipe calls for 2 prickly pears for about 6-8 cups of water, for 80 cups you'll need approximately 20 prickly pears. Water: 80 cups (5 gallons) Limes: 20 limes Sugar(optional): Adjust based on taste.Start with approximately 2.5 to 5 cups of sugar and adjust based on the sweetness of the prickly pears and your personal taste preference. I don't add any sugar as the prickly pears are so sweet.
