The very underestimated album of Golden Earring. Bad marketing those days, After the succes of Radar Love they should have promoted this album in the USA and UK,
This is my favorite, and actually only Golden Earring LP. This was never released in the US. I own 2 copies on vinyl and a copy on import cd. My first one came from my friends cousin from Holland. He brought some Eoropean music to turn us on to. Must have been 1972 or 73. He also brought Super Sister, Puding & gistern or something like that and Uria Heep, Look at Your Self with the grey cover and the mirror somewhat primatively glued to the front cover. Only 385 views? A hidden Gem!
Rinus Gerritsen bass lines are very prominent in the mix...this was the very destinctive sound by The Earring and nof found anywhere else among the surrounding bands of the era....coupled with the voice of George and Barry and with great songs they could have ranked much higher than they did......
This was before Radar Love. The first album I bought in the U.S. was Moontan and went back and bought them all the way back until 1966.I still own about 25 of their albums. I had to stop because the songs began to suck and one or two good songs do not an album make. Same thing with Nazareth, Status Quo etc etc......
love this song, thanks a lot for posting all GE songs in Seven Tears album...I'd like you to post another great songs by GE in album version : 1. I send my pigeon to the sky 2. Big Tree Blue Sea 3. Avalanche Of Love 4. Jangelene. Thanks...
Those were the days. Reflections about space, skies, moons and stars and how these things could influence our destinies in a way or another. LSD-deriving-from intuitions i guess 😉
bought seven tears begin eighties, someone obviously wanted to get rid of it, liked the cover, the songs, not saying its better, i like this music more than the later radar love, but they wher one of th best dutch export artikel, that's for sure
Way beyond the horizon of the universe A silver light shines on me And way beyond my towards What could there be The silver light flies faster than at first And I don't know what it will bring And I don't know what it may be And when it falls through the starry sky I know it falls for me Refrein: Silver ships won't you come on down You can land all is clear Can't you hear I'm here Way beyond the horizon of the universe Space ships are speeding fast And don't you know they have watched Us for a thousand years And don't you know we'll die at last No solution for Mother Earth Only confusion for the earthly herd And when it falls through the starry sky Who knows what life is worth? Refrein: Silver ships won't you come on down You can land all is clear Can't you hear I'm here
amusing: the first few chords of this song are very similar, if not identical, to the intro of THE WHO`s "see me, feel me" (from "tommy"). THE WHO were labelmates (and friends) of golden earring and instrumental in getting them a UK distribution deal via track records, btw. both great bands of course, don`t get me wrong...
