About 6 of us from my old company attended the funeral of the wife of a very dear black friend who had been with the company for 40 years. They were well into their seventies. He was given an award as the longest tenured employee in the company. We were the only white folks atthe funeral and we did get some curious attention. Nothing bizarre like this went on, but there was a lot of gospel singing. As a church choir member myself, I joined in on the ones I knew. After the service, I had several folks come up and offer me a membership in their choir. If they did not live so far away, I might have taken them up on it. These folks were all older VERY faithful, gracious and they all really loved my friend Henry and his wife. This church was DEFINITELY more welcoming and loving than many I have attended. The dinner after the service was really special!! Incredible food, lots of it and we all had a great time as we gave Henry's wife quite a send off. Sadly her name has escaped me.

May the God of all comfort be with your family during painful times my deepest condolences to his family and friends may his soul rips in heaven 🥀🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🥀🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🥀🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🥀🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊♥️
First of all to any of you all with the this is way too much going on comment I wonder will u say that when u get to heaven and God give u a crown because that’s what it is a symbol of when u get to heaven and receive a crown of life
This is also the place that just got caught storing bodies in an unrefrigerated u-haul truck and cremating the wrong bodies...repeatedly. Hope the bastard that owns this place rots in jail, then hell.
Drop all the swing and swag it's not about the performers it's not their day give the deaced their funeral give the deceased a proper funeral service without all of the showey cloud performers
I think this is beautiful and done so well and with such respect. Well done. For those who say it's all for show, then they aren't educated in different cultures and customs. Don't watch it to just make fun of complain. Again, well done.
@Esther Galliot If you don't want it for you, fine. If my kids want to honor me like this because I live a life of honor, so be it. I wish we had done this for My grandmother and grandfather. My family owned 2 funeral homes for almost 100 years. I've seen families fight and have knock-down drag-outs. Fighting at a funeral. Most of the time, it was because of certain family members felt like the loved one should have been buried with more HONOR than they were. [Why is Daddy in a plain casket? Why is he wearing THAT suit? Where is his ring? Why is it not on his finger?] Saw it all the time. Different customs for different parts of the country. By the way, MOST BLACK PEOPLE DO NOT DO THIS. Enough with the assumptions. I personally want a revival service at mine. A nice choir, a bunch of musicians, and HONOR. Let 'er rip. I want God's presence to bounce off the walls.
Question Everything , Showboating that part! My dad told me no extra stuff because he would be in heaven! Use that money to advance yourself. Never bury money, it is a different culture. Funerals and weddings are emotional and money makers. They are businesses. I don’t know how our culture got so far off track. We don’t need man crowing us!
I am pleased to know that your family were dedicated to the funeral home. It is a valuable and a rewarding business. I hung around at funeral homes when I was a teenager. That is how I learned one of the facts of life: what happens after a person dies. I am so sorry that you have seen so much quarreling and fights at those funerals. Bad behavior and bad language are no excuse to express grief. "Do violence to no man..." Luke 3:14. Your statements are right. As sinners, people who have not the love of Jesus Christ in their hearts, they will do anything that they are able to do, and it should not be new to you, for it is not new to Gracious Great God. I hope that the presence of Gracious Great God will exude from the wall to you while you live.
It is not disrespectful to the decreased at all. It's a crowning. When we go to our final home, we will wear a crown of glory. Stepping and pallbearer dancing, all come from West Africa. All of these things are done as a show of respect for the deceased how they lived their life here on earth glorifying their heavenly father. It's a celebration of the circle of life completed. African traditions are beautiful and full of meaning. My daughter married a black husband, their wedding was here in northern Michigan. All his family came to the wedding from southern states. At our Lutheran church my daughter and husband jumped the broom at the closing of the ceremony. The meaning is very beautiful. I heard nasty comments from people I knew for years, saying it was disrespectful in church. I told them all, they needed to leave. Ignorance is ugly.
It is very disrespectful first of all they are not doing it the correct way John Beckwith copied off of Rev. Greg Spencer whom he hated when he passed John Beckwith stole the strut Rev. Spencer is the creator of the strut they are doing it wrong all of that bouncing if you copy please do it correctly Rip Rev. Spencer!
IT MAY!! NOT!!!! BE FOR YOU!! ARE YOUR TASTE!!! ITS UP TO WHOM EVER! WAS LEFT IN CHARGE!!! MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE DECEASED!!! WISHES!!! PLEASE!! KEEP YOU NASTY COMENTS! TO YOURSLEVES!! IT AINT ABOUT! YOU NOR ME!! ITS THE FAMILYS!!!! WHAT MAYBE TOO MUCH FOR YOU!! MAYBE!!!! PERFECT!! FOR THE FAMILY!! PEACE! OUT!!!!!!
@donthompson1930, I'm sorry but who are you to say which is foolishness and what isn't when you leave your family has to rest you do it the way you want to see people did this the way they wanted to and it's no one's business to say it was right or wrong. If you don't like it simply move on!
Edmond you no why it was awful because they stole it from my home town Ft. Worth Texas Rev Greg Spencer invented that strut he is deceased and they copied when he passed away if you saw it done the correct way you probably would have liked it!
to each his or her own...it's just an additional charge on an emotionally charged occasion. foolishness to me, but hey, nobody that's not my family, has to have MY permission.
This may not be for all, but it is respectful and better than releasing balloons crazy string or whatever it is called birthday parties at cemeteries. Balloons destroy wildlife and the rest seems disrespectful. These people are mourning in their own respectful way. For my money, I want no funeral and just a simple burial so my body can nurture nature because nature nurtured me. This stepping ritual is the family's way of celebrating a life so leave it alone. It is none of our business and probably posting a video like this is meant for people who knew the deceased and could not come to the funeral.
Your comment makes absolute sense. In fact, I saw a video show on RU-vid about a rapper who held a hip-hop musical for his late mother in a church. He stood and danced on the cushioned pew; he danced with the other people that did not act like mourners; and they sang rap and hip-hop music in the sanctuary. Can anyone else top that?
I have seen on the First 48 of people releasing balloons in the air as though the dead could "see them." What is important to me is where will I spend eternity; to live forever with Jesus Christ in heaven and then in the New Earth that will be renewed, or will I be destroyed along with the devil and his angels in this earth. After all, this life will not last forever. That is how evil is becoming more prevalent like never before.
@@rowdeo8968 You are right. People who died are not with Jesus Christ at this time. If it were so, more people would not mind dying or being killed so badly that they would want to escape this life with all the sin, evil, sickness and turmoil that happen every day. Today, there is no one in heaven or hell. You may be interested to read 1 Corinthians 15:51-55 in the Holy Bible. The statement that says the dead are in heaven and doing live things is not found in the Bible. It has been made up by misguided people who would not read nor study the scriptures in the Holy Bible for themselves. If more people would take time to learn what the Holy Bible has in store to teach them right from the scriptures, they would be wise and enable Gracious Great God to bless them as the way He intended.
This is a joke! That was wayyyyyy too extra!!!!The crowing ceremony is one thing, but when he came high stepping down the aisle in the way that he did looks foolish! How can anyone take this seriously!?? No disrespect to the deceased though.Rest In Peace
@belle mcellis why should he not be? There have been similar comments for others who are people of color. Before dismissing the man, do your utmost to explain. He may still be of the same opinion but that's his choice.
@@alicerichardson6765 This is how you alienate others. As I stated previously, explain as best you can and if he has the same thoughts that's his prerogative.
