Used to watch GamesMaster and Bad Influence and I enjoyed those days. My only gripe with GamesMaster was since I was an Amiga owner and never owned a Mega Drive or SNES it kinda felt like it got snubbed quite often even in the early days of the magazine.
It didn't get worse, more people just whined about it that it excluded women and blah blah blah 😂 the kind of women who were part of it are excluded from the modern nonsense culture but that's fine 😂
Just tried PCBWay for the first time a couple weeks ago. Shapeways has shuttered, which used to be my go-to for fabrication. I needed to 3D-print some little mounts to hold an acrylic sheet with the aircon exhaust tube where a window screen goes, and a two-part exhaust air funnel for a Pentium Pro with a passive heatsink, so it could use the case's rear fan for the job instead of trying to find a Socket 8 HSF. The nylon prints turned out great, and cost wasn't bad -- in fact, half of it was shipping, which... well, what can ya do. Anyway, thanks for the tip. Certainly helped relieve the panic of not having a fabricator anymore.
Wordstar / Wordperfect : I'm 46 years old and I've never used either of them. I learned to type on MacWrite, went on to GEOS on my C64, then to ProWrite on the Amiga, finally to Word 95 on Windows 95. Wordstar and WP were for DOS-heads
I was too mature for Gamesmaster and Bad Influence, I used to watch Bits! But my first memories of TV shows with people playing computer games were, Get Fresh, which did this bit each week with Starglider, and a kids' game show called First Class, which had rounds where people played Paperboy, and Atari 720°
Bits was distracting, at times. I recall an attempt to focus on a snooker game review, when Bouff interjected, "should I pot the pink or double kiss the brown"? It was too much for my adolescent mind.

And yes, i was around for that time period. Over here in germany the ''computer shows'' were equally awkward and totally not completely industry financed... Everyone ''gaming'' at the time rolled their eyes at the lame TV attempts to show stuff you can't _really_ show.
ISA I pronounce the way RTS did. I have vague memories of using an 80 column word processor on the C64 and a 64 column word processor on a Spectrum. The next I used was Protext on Amiga (use escape codes for formatting) then Wordsworth, the first WSIWYG word processor I saw. I used Word 6 once for a presentation and once I got my own PC I tried the included Works, hated it so got a dodgy copy of M$ Office. These days it's either Libre Office or Google Docs. M$ was left in my dust trail in 2006 when I made the switch to Linux 😉
I don't know what the first time I saw a video game on TV was. probably just a commercial for a random game. or a game being used as a movie background prop maybe it was a news segment warning about video games addiction. I don't remember any gaming TV show in my region until 2003. but maybe there was one but I forgot about it. I do remember one of those game shows were you had a green screen and an obstacle course with some video game like graphics you know what I mean. there were a lot of shows like that in the 90s
The Alone in the Dark remaster that Dave mentioned had me intrigued but checking the TWIR reddit the youtube video has been removed. I think I've found what this is though if anybody is interested. There's Alone in the Dark Remastered by TatouTeam on itchDOTio website. v1.0 released 1st August. Download is 555MB Windows version. It's free but you can donate as well. I haven't tried it yet so no idea what it's like. From what I can tell it's using Unity.
I went to see Games master live with a girlfriend, must have been 1993 / 4ish, blimey. Fab industrial looking set. I thought it would impress her lol. Eeeep she was bored lol. I was an enthusiastic gamer, she was not. I had a 486 DX2 66 PC at the time which played Doom ok. Played a lot better at University though.
