Yes, indeed. They are like young kids. Separation is too hard for them. Imagine people leaving their dog at the animal shelter. Some dogs wait years, waiting for their boss to come back. We all should take that in mind.
I almost never go on vacations anymore because of my three dog's emotional health worries. Also, my oldest dog is a 16-year old Shih Tzu, who is quite elderly now with blindness and arthritis. I cannot bear the thought of him dying while I am away. However, I am very grateful for already having been able to have traveled the country and world already and I don't need to see much of it again. Dogs are worth it.
That dog may be faking his mama out. He is probably thinking 'Yeah, Grandma and grandpa's house. All the treats I can eat. Have to act like I am upset."
Yep, like my cousin’s dog. She looks like she’s going to miss them. She walks in slowly, turns around and does this look and then runs into the doggie resort. Pool, tv, movies, treats. I also heard they get massages. She’s spoiled. It’s hilarious.
Dogs definitely cannot understand complex human sentences. You let social Media fool you. They can recognize single words if repeated frequently, but that's it.
We used to babysit our fur grand baby whenever his dad wanted to go out of town a couple days. He learned where the pool was the first time, and from then on, he knew when he was staying at grandpa’s, he’d make a beeline to the pool first and go swimming, eat bacon and eggs for breakfast, go on walks to the park, ride to the lake and chase sticks, go to the dog park at the airport and bark at the ducks, get plenty of treats, get a fresh knuckle bone, and sleep in our bedroom in his bed at night.
I wish to be your fur grand baby...😪🤚🏻🥹🙏please adopt me...but i have 4 babies ( rescued) of my own and maybe is not a good idea😅 ... but really you sound so kind❤
OMG! I just left my dogs at a Kennel for a week while I went on vacation. I think my dogs were mad at me for a week when I came home. Dogs are such wonderful, sincere, loving creatures. What a sweet boy you have there. I had my Golden Retriever by my side for 17 years.
I'll never understand Americans and their dogs' kennels. They treat their pets like family members but then they do that horrible thing to them. It's torture. Even if it's only for sleeping. That's not a thing in Europe. Nobody has kennels here. wtf.
As a grandma that never spoiled her grandchildren, just loved them, but kept up their parents' rules, I can say I always spoiled the dogs I kept to the max and they loved coming to hang out with me. A few, I honestly didn't think they wanted to go home. This golden is beautiful and an excellent actor! He will miss his humans, but not as badly as he's making out! LOL!
Ma'am...you need get whatever plane, train, bus, cruise tickets you need to take this baby with you! Tell grandma that Wally will see her when HE gets back.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just like a small child pouting. One of my two dogs now is totally blind. She has a fit when I leave the house and drives my wife nuts with her barking. Your Golden is so cute. Shalom
I had a Golden that did exactly this same thing all the time. Sometimes with one paw on my knee at the same time his head was bowed and against my knee. The vet thought it was hilarious when he'd do it in the waiting room before an appointment. Gosh, I miss him so much!
Our golden doodle started acting very sad several days before we were leaving on a family vacation without him. So, we canceled our flights, rented a minivan, and drove across the country with our dog. We still laugh about it. The question is, how do they know?!
They know everything! LOL The change in routine, the energy in the house shifts. They can sense when things are different and then of course when you get your suitcases out, they REALLY know something's up. I used to pack my dog's luggage first so he'd know he was "coming" too and not be so worried. Sometimes he did come with me, sometimes he went on vacation with a friend, family, or at the doggy hotel! hahahaha
This golden retriever's reaction about going to grandma is priceless 🤣. No eye contact whatsoever. He is so adorable 💕❤. He is an amazing and beautiful pet 🐕🐕❤.
It’s so sad when you have to leave and they can tell once you break out the suitcase. They are so perceptive and tuned in. Poor little sweet dog. But I’m sure they are back by now :)
@werdna1969 That’s what my husband and I have been doing the last couple of years. Our senior dog doesn’t do well anywhere that requires her to be away from home. So if my son can’t stay with her, then we have staycations 🤷🏻♀️😉
My hubby & I having been taking our 3 dogs with us when we go on vacation. I wouldn't enjoy a vacation without them there! We go twice a year to Myrtle Beach, SC & rent a pet friendly beach house. All three dogs travel well on our 8 hr trip. We stop every couple of hrs to give them a chance to use the bathroom & stretch their legs not to mention ourselves. I'm 65 yrs old & can't imagine going to the beach without our dogs!
When I have to travel at all, I have to pack my bags in a closed room and sneak them out otherwise my girl will pout and hide behind the bed. I breaks my heart, but also warms my heart.
I work at home and have a 4 yr old German Shepard. I'm leaving him for a week soon for the first time, and this pops up 😢 I bought so many treats for them.
I always took my dogs for holiday with me. Actually I organised everything for them😅, even bought a ground with small shelter in countryside to give them more opportunity to jog in the forest and fields. That was beautiful time not only for them. 😢
I left my golden to go on vacation, the vacation was terrible, and I lost him unexpectedly shortly after I returned. I’ll never forgive myself. They are truly the most loving creatures on this planet.
Once we left our beagle with my mom while we went away for a weekend, and when we picked him up he wouldn't even look at us. Gave us the cold shoulder for a whole day! This is a dog who greets you wagging and smiling every time you leave the room and come back!
LUV THIS! I lost my male Golden at 17. He was a total Mama's Man! & He was the BESTEST BOY! It's been 7 years & although I have other dogs, my connection with Rock was truly special. I can hardly look at one without tearing up! He's BEAUTIFUL!❤❤❤
Oh, poor thing. Few years ago, my husband and I went away for a week. Upon our return, our Shih Tzu gave us the cold shoulder. If we walked in a room she was in, she would immediately get up and walk out 😅
I went away for 2 weeks and had someone stay at my apartment, so it wasn't as bad as all that. But, when I came home, they both jumped to the door to greet me and then calmly walked to the other side of the room, sat down and gave me the cold shoulder for an hour.
@@mmuu9744 If you feed something, take care of it, clean up after it, give it love and support, and include that being in your daily life...yeah, that's basically a KID right there. An incel like you wouldn't understand that, though. Dogs and cats, if cared for properly, are definitely part of the family and are definitely equal to "kids" and you are their "parent" because you love them, worry about them, and want them to be happy. That's literally the same thing as taking care of a child. An unloved person like yourself probably sees kids and pets as objects and therefore, can't understand complex emotions and bonds between people and other sentient beings. What a sad, and ultimately meaningless life you are living.
Golden Retrievers have EXTREME separation anxiety. My mother had one, and it had to be taken to someone else's home to be cared for when she was hospitalized. When they checked on it the next morning, it had died. It was not a terribly old dog either. I'm not sure if it was the anxiety of being separated from its owner or being taken out of its home, or maybe a combination of both.
My babies are geriatric and going to Grandma's house in December for a week. I feel this. 😊 We usually miss our dogs so much after the first or second day, sometimes it's hard to finish our trip. ❤
