I have never had a golden but have never met one that wasn't friendly. I once told a golden owner that goldies were what you would get if you could take the emotion of love and put it in physical form wrapped in golden hair.

I was thinking of the baby growing up and wishing she'd always have Whiskey. I guess, in a way, she will. It isn't hard to believe we will meet again with our pets who went before we did. In the meantime the world will have another animal lover in Ally. ❤

It wasn't uncommon for families in the past to keep a dog in the house as a sort of nanny if they couldn't afford to hire a full-time nanny or nurse (like Nana in Peter Pan) due to their protective and nurturing instincts

They're so gentle with each other. Usually toddlers are rough with animals , but she's so gentle with him. It was so cute when she fed him. They have a great bond

True story. My dad was born in 1929, to very young parents in a small Southern town. They were both teetolers (not too surprising, and this was during the last days of Prohibition). When my dad was a toddler, he was outside playing in the front yard and loudly saying, “whiskey, whiskey, whiskey!” when their preacher came to visit. 😂😂. My grandma was so embarrassed, esp bec my grandpa thought it was funny and would tease her about it. I hope Whiskey is her first word! That would be awesome.

@@domoru5264 You can't replace a heart dog but you could become the heart for the next one. I lost my heart in 2018 but I became the heart for my new best friend I rescued from a bad place. That became someting that mattered more than my own loss and grief and because of it we've mutually made each others lives better. Being the heart for another is a worthy cause that I plan to continue filling my life and home with.

Growing up my neighbor who was my babysitter had a Doberman Pincher, once I was an adult I had a bullmastif and my brother a pit bull. Never had a problem.

I had a Golden Retriever that loved babies ANY kind of babies. He loved our grandchildren, he loved our baby kittens, and once he brought me a baby rabbit and each day I would let him see him. He loved that baby rabbit so much.

The part with the baby in the high chair reminded me of my son at that age with one of our huskies named Taz. My son would share his food with Taz. Sadly Taz died at a young age because of a brain tumor when my son was only 2 years old. It would have been nice to see he and my son grow together. When my son turned 5, we adopted a puppy from the shelter. It has been 11 years and he and the dog are best friends. I hope Ally and Whiskey will have many years together.
