This was one of the best songs in the Golden Sun soundtrack. That fact that this was composed on the limited audio hardware of the Game Boy Advance makes it even more impressive. The music in this game has more soul than most of the game soundtracks I hear even up to today. Motoi Sakuraba is a genius.
The whole game and its far story and complex character system was on GBA and thats even more impressive. Most impressive GBA game on history. the proove it doesnt need SIZEE to make HUGE things.
@@RussianSevereWeatherVideos My man just reminded me of pure pain with this one. Especially when my stupid a** forgot to save all the way from crossbone isle.
In fact they are bigger than that, remember when you fought some of those to catch them. They have a decent size. What you are looking at, are djins linked ! When they are attached to the heroes they are smaller!
***** FF is a piece of crap. For years they haven't come up with a new story, it's all "AH OMG GOTTA SAVE DEM CRYSTALS, 4 WARRIORS, PLZ HELP KAY?" I am royally pissed that even Bravely Default has the same story. I thought it would be a new game with a new story, not a rerun.
I remember, 12 years ago, when I was playing Golden Sun, I walked into the Venus Lighthouse, and I just stood there for over a minute, doing nothing, because this music was just so stunning. Golden Sun and The Lost Age are the two defining gaming moments of my childhood. I will never forget.
that moment when you play Golden Sun for the first time and you reach Venus Lighthouse, finally feeling like you've reached your journey of finishing the game at long last... only to find out that it's all not over yet and that you have a sequel to play next... the amount of hype I felt at that moment was definitely over 9000.... XD damn love this game!
[continuing your hype] ...and that moment when you do play said sequel and it begins BEFORE the first game ends and Jenna is once again a playable character... Hype is over 90,000 damn love this game!
Not to mention if you're like me, you practically celebrate or experience a dopamine rush when you hear such an elaborate, powerful song, one so fitting for the final dungeon of this wonderful chapter of Golden Sun. I almost didn't want to advance to the final battle. The 30 minutes of dialogue I found myself caught in cemented the feeling of reluctance. But I digress. Besides, that colors my opinion of the final boss fight as negative. I loved that, too. Just wish I could skip the dialogue when replaying the fight. Interesting how that's the one complaint I can think of regarding Golden Sun.
+GenesicShinZyraelKai Huh? You was supposed to light all 4 lighthouses in the first game. So I don't see how you would think that Venus lighthouse was the end of your journey. I had the opposite feelings. It felt like my joy was cut short because I was ready to take on Jupiter lighthouse (as Jupiter lighthouse was mentioned at the top of Venus lighthouse by Saturos & Menardi - I thought that was the game hinting to me where I need to go next) only for the game to end. And so your like "aww what about the other lighthouses". I've heard that Golden Sun 1 & 2 was actually supposed to be one game. But they had to split it into two games because of the limitations of the GBA system. So the developers had basically the whole story in mind during the first game. This rings true if you think about Lord Babi mentioning the Lemurians and Isaac's party had plans of visiting them.
Dom Jarre well the idea was to stop the 2 guys from activating the lighthouses... one would normally think that by preventing all the lighthouses from being lit would prevent the upcoming disaster. no one really expected that you'd be lighting the other lighthouses next... given that there was also the time split between the release of both games.
GenesicShinZyraelKai You are wrong. 1 guy 1 girl. Not 2 guys. It wasn't just to stop Saturos & Menardi it was also to stop Felix & Alex. Felix was instructed to light the next lighthouses with Sheba by Saturos, Menardi and Alex and as I said, Saturos & Menardi talked about needing Sheba to go through Jupiter lighthouse. And you are unaware that you will be defeating Saturos & Menardi while going through Venus Lighthouse so no, your point doesn't stand. Your goal is to restore Alchemy. You do get the impression from the story that you will be entering the other lighthouses and that Venus lighthouse was not going to be the last one. And once again, the mention of the Lemurians by Babi also indicates more to the story. You don't expect to switch sides and your objective to change, no - that was kind of a plot twist which the developer thought is a neat thing to do to get the full side to the story. And the story is told from 3 angles. But the game clearly doesn't give you any impression of being completed in anyway. That was kind of the point of it. Golden Sun 1 & 2 are actually a single plot - the second following from the first with Dawk Dawn being a sepearate new plot. The last cut scene is of them boarding the ship to continue their mission talking about exploring the open sea. The end of the map in the first game is fogged out at the edges indicating more map. Which is eventually revealed in the second game. As I said, the game was initially going to be a single instalment. It was going to be released on the N64 as "Golden Sun 64". But because the N64 quickly became superseded by the gamecube, they shifted their focus on the GBA which had its limitations compared to the 64. So they had to split the plot because their initial plans of the game wouldn't of been able to fit on a single GBA cartridge. Due to all of these facts, it is kind of obvious that it isn't the end at the end of Golden Sun 1. And I completely got that impression when I first played it.
I remember when first entered this place, everything about the music screamed "final battle incoming" but I was like, "but there's two more lighthouses after this". Did not see what came after that coming. Man, that takes me back.
when you reach the lighthouse first time, you think doesnt special. BUT when you really reach the Venus Lighthouse and hear this you can only say..."Dude...the final battle is coming"
Ugh Golden Sun 4, PLEASE. I'm replaying all three and almost finished 2. The pic in this video makes me wish there was a Golden Sun anime. Come on, Nintendo!!!!!
it would be golden sun 3 lost age is just the 2nd half of 1 hopfully they do the same the dark dawn and make a 3rd game and yes I'd love to see a well wrighen and voice acted anime
@@perfectcell5613 Either they remake The Broken Seal and The Lost Age and merge them together with more Content (Ex. Felix's Journey through the areas from The Broken Seal with Saturos and Menardi as well as Isaac's Journey after they left Venus Lighthouse up until they fought Agatio & Karst in Jupiter Lighthouse) or they make a New Game. Either Way I will be satisfied.
This was the first video game I ever passed and spent days on.... While everyone played "Ocarina of time" I was doing this and it is still the best experience I've ever had in an RPG I love this theme too it was my favorite
@@mr.awesome6011 You're entitled to your opinion. I enjoyed Golden Sun a lot, but you can't downplay the massive influence that OoT had on the entire gaming industry. It had an immersive open world (for the time), the Z targeting and assigning different items to the C buttons revolutionized 3rd person adventure games and is still used today in most Souls-like games. Golden Sun was a very polished JRPG, but it didn't reinvent the genre. Did that change your mind?
The graphics were really pretty for GBA standards aswell! The dialogues were amazing too: they didn't get boring even though they were really long sometimes. It was just an amazing game, period.
Me: I cant believe Im so close to beating this game for the 1st time. Ima try my best to stay focused. Lets do th- *Venus Lightouse theme starts to play* Me: WhAt iS tHiS MaStErPiEcE oF a SoNg!?!?!?!?!
I heard this for the first time when I was around 7 years old, after struggling with that colored statue puzzle then climbed the stairs and hearing this.. it was such a bliss after that frustrating puzzle.
It sounds incredible.... like something you'd hear in a "Tales of" game. Guess that's what happens when you have Motoi Sakuraba compose the music for this game.
I dont know what game this is. But the music is freaking awesome! Even if this was uploaded 10 years ago I'm sure people still come to this day to listen to this. So hello people!
My favorite moment in the game was when you found out, that your whole ambitions to stop the "evil" guys emblazing the 4 lighthouses were bullshit cuz their actions would have saved the world.
Well, you still have to technically stop them, because as long as they "save" the world under the guidance of the Mars adepts and under Alex's influence, nothing good will come out of it. So both Isaac and Felix teams end up doing the right thing. Isaac by removing Saturos and Menardi from the equation and Felix by removing Karst and Agatio. With those gone, there's little risk of the Mars clan abusing the power of alchemy. Alex on the other hand... that's another story.
@@DiogoJ1 Yeah it bugs me when people are like "Hey Saturos and the other Proxians were actually good guys in the end cuz they wanted to light the lighthouses and save the world" I mean, yeah obviously the Lighthouses needed to be lit by someone, but their actions, especially around Sulhalla and the Venus Lighthouse, clearly showed they were evil people that needed to be stopped.
E3 2015, nintendo has returned. the conference ends with some information about the new zelda. when people is leaving... lights go out. an orchestra plays this theme and takahashi apears with an earth djinn in one shoulder. los angeles explodes. PD: sorry for crappy english
The artwork is amazing! I remember seeing this back when Golden Sun was first coming out. I don't remember where exactly sadly, but this pic has always stuck in my head when Golden Sun is brought up.
When I was 8years old, I fought monsters, climbed mountains and fought the most dangerous warriors in the peak of a elemental lighthouse. When i was 8 years old i save the world, Weyard... Weyard will always be safe while I live.
This is my favorite song that I have ever heard. My iPod has over 8000 songs. Venus lighthouse just takes it. I just listen to all the instruments closely. It's just the most beautiful thing I have ever heard in my 24 years of life.
I remember beating the first game on the Wii U vc because I didn't play it on the GBA when I was younger and immediately purchased the second because this series is absolutely amazing! I really hope Camelot makes a new entry at some point.
Out of all the themes from all 3 golden suns, this theme was the best. If only there was a 10 hour video of this, id sure have it playing in the background
This theme music just pumps you up, just beat this awesome game again in 10 years and still beats out most games made this decade. Bout to start the lost age soon, oh the nostalgia.
Heroic...Majestic...Hard to explain this song with words. It just sounds like a "We're about to **** someone up" theme. Or "We're about to GET ****ed up". Either way, epic. One of the best VG songs i've ever heard, makes one of the top of my childhood.
Fear not, you are not alone, Golden Sun was the first game I ever played and I played this game countless times without ever getting tired of it. It truly is a masterpiece. I'm glad to finaly meet someone who thinks the way I do.
If my first ever RPG hadn't been final fantasy 7. Then id say the golden sun series is the besr RPG franchise of all time. And this music I bloody love it. Literally just SST there in one spot listening to it before the end of Venus lighthouse just to bask in the perfection of it and its spot in the game
This makes me feel like i can do everything and i'm down at the last moment of strain ... feels like one of those music you'd find nowhere ... Thanks to you golden sun, i can cheer up to this music anytime!
Played legends of mana and zelda somehow didnt finish them but when i started golden sun 1 i ended up finishing both 1 and 2. It was just a beautiful story and world building or maybe the gameplay mechanics is more refine?
God i remember hearing this track when i first walked in. Not only does it sound epic this sounds like the song to not just a final battle coming but a final battle that you're gonna win!
I am glad I have both of them still...I want my kids to play this game when they are old enough, to understand the definition of a epic rpg adventure game
This used to make me think of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky. Golden Sun is the best RPG game series ever. Even if Dark Dawn wasn't the best
Golden sun, the best RPG I know of. What can I say, some grew up playing the first Final Fantasies, or only pokemon. Me, I played Golden Sun. I am the only person I know off who did. I am also the only person I know off who know a good RPG when I see one. Golden sun and Golden Sun the Lost Age will always be played by me!
As a kid i had golden sun 2 that my friend gave me. I never got past the first few areas (and havent touched it in years) but i replayed it a fuckton of times for this music, i'll never forget it
To you guys who first heard this at the end of the first game, fully expecting this to be the final dungeon and still have their mind blown away, imagine guys like me who knew nothing and started with the second game. It was our FIRST, GODDAMN DUNGEON, and we were hit with the full force of Venus Lighthouse chorus. My brain melted right out of my mouth. I couldn't move Jenna for a solid 15 minutes.
This was the best final dungeon theme Golden Sun 1 could've had. Incidentially, it was also the best opening theme GS2 could've had. It covers the transition between the two games so well.
Like everyone else here or a large majority…this forced me to stop playing and really use my peripheral connector for my gba SP headphones and MAN! 😮😮😮😮😮😮 I’m 37 this year and I still love This OST.
Happy tenth anniversary for Golden Sun in North America. May I thank you for introducing me to gaming. You and the lost age will always have a special place in my heart. Can't wait for Golden Sun 4!!!!!!XD
Hearing the Venus Lighthouse theme (through rough fan-made MIDI renditions due to no RU-vid or MP3 file back then) was what got me into Golden Sun in the first place. It was the first RPG I played outside Pokémon.
Man, I always forget how great the soundtrack to Golden Sun is until i randomly select one in my suggestions. I remember this specific theme being one of my favorites.
Love the pic used in the vid. Isaac: Errr...feeling kinda self concious. Garet: Oh hush you big baby. Ivan: Yeah you're lookin' stronger already. Mia: Hey guys I'm back from McDo-oh my god what are you doing?!
@DarkRaven4649 What do you mean by best? IT IS SO AWESOME, IT IS NOT EVEN COMPREHEND IT!!! I still remember I spent like 3 quarters of the day in this lighthouse...
One of the best things about this theme is the effect it has on players when they hear it for the first time: As soon as you step into the Venus Lighthouse for the first time, you know some serious shit is going to go down, and that you've reached a location of great importance.
I have both physical and digital (Wii U Virtual Console) games, I remember getting someone at work hooked on this, and The Lost Age games, Dark Dawn needs a sequel already!
