Our rescue girl didn't know how to even look up or around from being caged. Reminds me of her for the first few weeks. Terrified of everything, especially men. Even 10 mins walk exhausted her. Now she adores my hubby, knows to look up around, do zoomies and adores her cuddles. So I know how much work you have put in. The patience needed. Well done.

What I've seen that really helps dogs like this is to have another dog to accompany the dog so it shows them "how to dog" and that its not scary - especially for the walks which looks quite traumatic for this little pooch.

The doodle craze is a puppy mills dream. A half breed that everyone wants due to the cuteness of the mix and the price they can get for them. The ones that suffer this greed are the dogs. My heart breaks for these pups.

That puppy mill...Amish owned, I'm guessing? Murphy looks just like my brother's Doodle, who was sweet beyond words. Love the name Murphy, it's seems to fit her!

I had a puppy mill dog, so this all looks too familiar. In time, he learned to trust, but it was quite a journey to get there. Murphy’s adorable and so are you two!

There is a certain way that dogs lick they're lips to show you they feel so loved & nurtured. If they like their heads scratched, once you scratch it, they gently lick their lips with the softest and gentle eyes❤You guys definitely found that "head scratch" in Murphy that makes her smile. It was definitely the boyfriend's rubs😂❤❤

Bless your heart for loving Murphy!. I have taken in 3 different dogs that were all abused. I have a Labrador that was the same way as Murphy, she had been tied her whole life, did not know how to walk or even knew what a toy was., but after lots of love and care she became the most lovable and most caring baby I ever had. If anyone ever gets the chance to help a neglected animal you will never regret it. They show you every day how much they love and appreciate you, more over than some humans! The love is unbelievable!!

Murphy was apparently abused, since she obviously never experienced human kindness. I'm glad to see she'll now have a happy life. Thank you for rescuing her and being so patient. Goldendoodles are very sweet.and affectionate by nature.

Poodle type dogs are known for their sensitivity. I'm so glad that you both have helped her so greatly!

I also have a puppy mill survivor who was severely abused she was deathly afraid of my hubby because men ran the mill and they hurt her she was alot like Murphy didn't know what grass was wouldn't walk on a leash she would eat her poop & lick her urine because they didn't feed her everyday at the mill. It took alot of patience & TLC & I thank God for my puggle Brandy because Misty would watch & follow her & omg how they love each other. She loves my hubby but she is definitely my shadow & so is Brandy. Misty made our family complete. Don't ever give up on a puppy mill survivor they're so worth to love

Neglect and fear and lack of love can lead to a very dark path but i wish we can all see that showing love and affection can lead to great relationships not only to you but everyone around you. I also adopted puppy mill girl. Only about 1 and already bred. I took her home from the adoption and took her to the backyard and set her in the grass.she was hesitant at first and carefully sniffed it then kind of came alive and ran around and rolled in it and was joyously jumping and running with an attitude of amazement and unbelief.I realized that she had probably never been allowed to be. in grass before. I sat there and cried

If you look at the adoption sites, there are so many Poodle mixes. People buy them from puppy mills, then give them up. If you want a dog like her, there a lots of them to adopt!

My Golden doodle rescue was the same when I got her. She didn't understand going up and down steps, going through doors, everything scared her. My other dog taught her a lot about being a dog. She is doing well now.

I was touched by your story of the Golden Doodle rescue!! We ALSO rescued A mini golden in May. Charlie! He was also from a farm used fur breeding only by the Amish. Just before we adopted him he had undergone Full shave due to extreme fur matting, vetted & vaccinated and neutered. A week later we met him and took him home. He too would not walk, was frighten by men, his back legs were pitched out with fear. He did not eat or drink. But little by little he too wanted pets and love. He’s gentle smart and a love!! I shutter if I think too much about his life before he came to us. He helped heal our hearts after losing our beloved Willie 16 yr old Bichon Poodle. Grateful doesn’t come close to his we feel!!! Thank you for sharing your story about Murphy. Thank goodness for those who rescue!!!

As an owner of two handsome golden doodles these dogs are the most emotionally sensitive and intelligent dogs I’ve seen. I’ve had husky’s, pit bulls, and other dogs growing up but these two boys are so intuitive.

I’m watching this in tears - because a little over a year ago we adopted a 7 yr old golden retriever who had been nothing more then a puppy making machine for a MO puppy mill. Our girl Annie feels absolutely safe inside our home and in our yard (now) thanks to our older golden girl who helped her feel that mom and dad will protect her. But to this day, she continues to be absolutely terrified of walks and car rides. Our vet told me, Annie has come so far and if she never goes on a walk - it’s ok, she’s got more in her life then she ever dreamed possible. 🩷 So thank you to Murphy’s people for saving her and giving her the time and space to become the dog she was always meant to be ! Thank you! 🩷

You could see how much she had bonded with her Dad. When she finally started walking on a leash every few steps she would look up at him being sure she was doing ok. I love it when dogs give hugs.

My Chihuahua I had for 16 years was from a puppy mill as a puppy. She was an amazing girl and saved my life several times. Just because they’re puppy mill dogs doesn’t mean you write them off. They deserve homes too. Obviously puppy mills aren’t so great. But you don’t blame the dogs for that. My girl had a beautiful temperament, I socialized her to adults and children and was always gentle. She’s been gone for five years and I miss her terribly. She was my girl.

One of my Boston Terriers came from an Amish puppy mill in OH, where he was a stud. Sweetest, best boy ever - and we made sure his life after rescue (after 5 yrs in a cage 🤬) were the best we could possibly give him. Don’t hesitate on older/traumatized dogs. We always adopt older/sick/needy pets. I wouldn’t trade one second of my time with any of them for all the $ in the world.

Think of all animals used. Used up. All animals deserve freedom and dignity. Think about what you drink and put on your plate. This beautiful man and dog are united and giving hope. Thank you for seeing Murphey through to love!!

When I hear stories about puppy mills it makes me so angry!!!!!!!!! Thank you to every single person who has rescued dogs and puppies from puppy mills!!

Murphy got a wonderful family to help her learn how to dog and live her best life. She’s a very lucky girl. Katera and Chris are lucky to have her. I wish them many happy years together. My friend Kari fosters rescues for the National Mill Dog Rescue in Colorado. She’s fostered about a dozen dogs and adopted a couple of them. Her Schnauzer mix, Pepper, helped most of them learn how to “dog” by teaching them that Kari was there to help. She also helped them learn that toys and physical contact was a good thing, and how to use puppy pads and go potty outside. Kari lost Pepper in October, but her legacy lives on in all of the NMDR fosters and shelter puppies that have come through Kari’s home over the last 8 years or so. Snowy and Freyja, helped by Pepper, have stepped into her paws and now help rescues learn how to dog.
