@@MrTedMcForehead Still ! Even now. Every time I have trouble with an other level like Cradle or Aztec, I think ''at least Control is done !'' so it's ok, I feel good. I could never thank you enough for the 6th mainframe's trick, it really can save lives.
@@MrTedMcForehead Yes I find it's the best strategy, but there were always a lot of guards coming from behind me because I take forever to aim properly. So when I'm hit, Trevelyan sees me and runs away. And sometimes, there're so many guards at the same time, they use the meatshield technique and I waste all my ammo on them...terrible. I really hate when there's too many guard or when I can't take all the time I need to hide and aim. That's why Control, Silo and Cradle are the only levels I really don't feel comfortable with. And this is also why some other levels known as difficult (Aztec, Bunker 2 or Caverns) aren't that terrible for me.
Hahahah Great! Levels like Control, Craddle and Aztec, I just beat once each in 00 Agent to get them saved at my cartridge so I never have to do them again 😂
I found this the hardest mission. The amount of times I'd forget that drone room or someone would shoot natalya just as she finished was a nightmare! The remastered goldeneye on xbox is soooo much better on the jungle mission btw. I can see these videos getting very popular again now!
For the part where you cover Natalya I find it's best to camp at the base of one of the stairsets just on the inside of the stair curve. This way you easily shoot the guys coming down the stairs you've camped at and they can't hit you, and you have a good line of sight at the far stairs. Only have to look one direction this way and can grab more ammo if needed. Just need to listen for the glass breaking beside you. Thanks for the best tutorials!

Had a lot of nostalgic fun watching this. I had a really hard time on this level for a while as a kid. Beating it on 00 agent was a moment. Almost as big as beating Aztec.
This guide is absolutely GOLD! I tried this so many times and then got to watch your walkthrough beat it first time. The saving the glass and carefully placing all the mines is a massive help. Wish I could like this video more than once!!!

I got this in two attempts following your guide. Really good walkthrough! That trick to complete C before having to protect Natalya makes a difference. This stage was my eternal nemesis when I first played this game
holy jeebus that's so so useful. Some genuine, brilliant tips in there I didn't know. I'm 38 and played this game for years as a teen and I'm sure I've only completed this level on 00 Agent once in my life.
First attempt at 00 Agent in 20+ years and im clutching your videos and never letting go! Im stuck on this mission, last 4 attempts have had NH guys on both spiral stairs and natalya gets taken out by a slight breeze!
Oh man!!!! I always went the long way thru the big depot at the end!!! Never since the game came out have i been able to clear this level.. yous a genius man!

Great video! One thing I want to add to this though that I saw, when defending Natalya, stand at the middle part on the second floor facing the stairs going up to the third floor. They all come from there and you can pick them off one by one. Just watch for the guards with hats, they will attack you, while the hatless ones go after her.
Great videos; you made Cradle a complete cakewalk. I’m still trying to get through Control Center, but your tips leading up to protecting her have helped. I truly have no idea how 13 year old me did this when it was brand new (especially when I didn’t know the hatless guys were only after Natalya until watching your video). One thing that you didn’t seem to experience after using the explosives on the closed door (killing the guys in the locker area) is one - sometimes two - guys will show up by the mainframes if one walks to another level and comes back.
You have to maintain eye contract with the door at all times. If you look away between explosions they will glitch through the door. The game doesnt allow them to do with if you're looking at the door. Similar to how one guy often comes at you when you throw the mine through the wall to blow up the last mainframe, he glitches through the wall and comes at you. I appreciate the kind words!

dude!! i did it after watching your video. i did it as a kid but i lost the nack...FINALLY now i have Egyptian level to do and thats it! i did aztec on 00agent from watching your vids too! i never knew about the glass doors only being penetrable for me, the strategy for killing jaws is what did it for me tho! you've made the most helpful walkthrough and I've seen lots of videos.
I noticed that little funky hip hop tune after the 2 minute is actually a spin on that weird song that’s played in the movie when racing Xenia in the car
Thanks again. Managed to just about get through on my own in the medium level but had no hope on 00 agent without this guide. Still took a lot of attempts to get through to the protect part with a decent amount of health left. I never managed to accumulate as much ammo as you so got a bit frantic trying to pick it up in lulls in the fighting and got caught out a few times leaving Natalya unprotected. The guys coming through the glass towards the end were a problem and were quickly shooting Natalya before I could get to them. So I tried changing position to stand next to Natalya when they were due and managed to get them before they got her after a few more attempts and taking a few bullets for her too. The tip about which enemies go after her/you amazing Thanks.

First try doing it your way!! I haven’t played in years and couldn’t for the life of me remember how I beat this mission. I made it all the way to Control before going to RU-vid lol. I was stuck for two days. Great walkthrough!
This helped me a lot; thank you. I ended up having more problems with Train than this mission, though that might have been down to the strategy outlined here to greatly ease (at least, unless the game's RNG decides otherwise) the defence portion of the mission.
thanks. i'm old enough to have played this a lot as a kid. i'll admit i'm significantly better now than i was as a kid or a first time player. i tried to simulate how to beat the missions as a newer player as my normal strats off camera are much more skill based and risky. the feedback is great but i know i could have explained things better/have learned better strategies since.

Honestly, I think the only reason I got it on my last attempt was because of your tips with the mines. I probably would have died in that last room if all the guards were still alive.

I'm playing Goldeneye now. On 00 Agent. These great videos have helped loads. I have to admit though that for the last part of control, the protect Natalya bit, I used the invincibility cheat 🙂 Not giving up though. Planning on returning to this mission and trying again. And again. And...you get the point 😄
if you blow out the side windows on the left and right where the guards break the glass before you go get Natalia, you will have more time to see the guards so you can shoot them, verses the windows breaking then shooting taking place right after, if you can see them run up they stand there for some time before shooting, you can use one mine and place it in the middle of the room in the upstairs where the mainframes are and blow out the glass and the mainframe with one mine by shooting the mine with gun of course, also to save a mine you can shoot desk next to mainframe in the downstairs room where the drone guns are and it will take out the mainframe so you can save a mine if u want
Nice job! I ended up here trying to not spend a lot of time on it either. I remember it took time like 5 years ago… struggling on secret agent, even! Really interesting and cool mine tricks, gettin through the wall and completing the missions easier. Hope to go be successful now!
@@MrTedMcForehead thanks, Ted! I managed to get through Control after work today! In the first 15 min of playing, so that’s been a relief. I didn’t go for the extra mine throws this time, just opened up that door and tossed a mine at the glass for the last mainframe. I was able to toss and detonate the other mines on guards before grabbing the body armor too. Made a quick run for the exit and felt good! Now I’m watching your caverns vid because I’ve died like 4 times at the end, if I manage to not accidentally blow up the radio.
These guides are awesome! I've been recording a Let's Play of this game lately, but my skills are apparently not like I remembered them being when playing this in the late 90's (I'm starting to suspect I was not as good as I like to remember, hehe). I think I would have spent days on this mission without your guide!
i'm 10x better now than l was when this game came out. l remember spending 2 weeks on bunker 2 secret agent when i was a kid, now i can beat it in 00 agent 100/100 times.
I beat it. Wow. Finally. Never again. Weirdest thing was I barely took a hit. Tried a million times and failed. Maybe the algorithm was kind to me this time. Thanks for the tips!
It’s crazy watching these knowing that a lot of people tried to beat this game as a kid ages 10 to 16 or so. Ted does a great job explaining but he’s also super calculated and shows that it has definitely taking some practice as well as a pretty high level of thinking

Good tip defending Natalya from the upper floor will be the best because the window guards will spawn if you defend bottom floor but won’t if you defend upper floor
Hey ! Thanks again for your tips. Sadly, I've tried to protect Natalya so many times, I'm almost giving up. No matter what strategy I follow, she always dies. I tried this level more than 30 times, it's such a pain in the arse. I will spend weeks to finish it. But at least I still love watching you play.

@@MrTedMcForehead That level is so hard, oh man ! Fortunately, everything before the ''protecting Natalya'' part is pretty easy so I manage not to take any damage. I tried for hours and hours and I still can't beat it. So I would like to ask you some more questions (hoping not to bother you). Would it be conceivable to run from an enemy to another so the men in hats don't hit me ? Because when I try to aim a hatless dude I'm always shot by someone, so I cannot shot anyone on time and Natalya dies. And there's often guys who come from the two stairs at the same time. So if I try to aim one, the other one shoots me and it's extremely annoying. I've tried to stay back to Natalya (just as you did), I've tried to stay in front of Natalya, I've tried to stay at the staircase on the 1st floor (2nd floor if you're american) to kill the guards that come from upstairs,...I think I've tried everything and nothing works. I don't know if it's clear enough (English isn't my native tongue). I really hope I don't waste your time, haha, but I feel so hopeless. :') I wish you a wonderful day by the way !
@@mariem5083 Yes running closer to a hatless guy while being shot is a good idea. Try running to the stairs which they are about to come down and look up at them so you can kill them quickly and easily, they run right into your bullets. Did you blow up the mainframes by boris without blowing out the corner windows?
@@MrTedMcForehead Yes, I always destroy them without breaking the glasses. I use your strategy and I put mines on the floor so the windows stay intact. Well, thank you for your answer. I've just had 5 tries right now, the guys with hats prevent me to move by shooting me and the ONLY time I was doing quite well, one of them threw a grenade on Natalya (yes, a fucking grenade). I'll try again later, hoping to have more luck. I saw a guy having a lot of luck while beating this level because there were no enemy to break the frames in the corners of the room. They were just going down the stairs one by one. I really wish I could live the same situation, haha. Once again, thank you for your answer and your help.
Followed your guide and only trouble was protecting Natalia , but managed to do it in about 10 try's lol , I doubt I'd of done it without the tip to blow up the last mainframe , as the guards would of picked me off as I was very low on health as I was using my body to take bullets away from her cheers bro , owe you a drink for sure 😎
I did manage this way back, and I was conscious of leaving less windows open, keeping my head on a swivel, and tried to shoot guys on the upper floor as they were coming, and it did work (just never in time), but man, just knowing about the guards and hats alone would have made a huge difference.
Wow you are good at this game its still a classic if anything i like it more now than when i had it in the 90s. You made it look easy but it's far from easy I struggle to do this on secret agent
