@@kaihedgie1747 that works too, but they have modern games to compare to, so this might suck to them! For us, this was amazing back in the day and we probably thought games couldn't get much better! 😂
@@nickabbott4411 I actually played GoldenEye XBLA version recently (I also 100% it on n64 a few times when it was new), and with modern controls I can for certain say GoldenEye DEFINITELY holds up, feels amazing, and still feels unlike any other fps ever. there is something super REAL and special and forgotten about its game mechanics, and I want to make a video eventually breaking down exactly why, and how we can make more games like it. the same way Doom 2016 re-validated the fast, mindless, blitzy action of the 90s doom 1 and 2, essentially creating a new sub genre of FPS, or rather, rediscovering it, a "goldeneye-like" is a real genre that could exist soon. I'm also doing this research to make my own goldeneye-like game.
@@westingtyler1 That's good to hear and it might be what's needed to get current gamers into retro games too! Goldeneye is definitely an outlier when it comes to quality. The World is Not Enough didn't hold a candle to Goldeneye back in the day, but that's probably because Rare were a unique and very talented game development company. I've not played the XBLA version myself yet but it's definitely on the list! 👍 More so if it comes recommended. Good luck with your game development too.
I always had a thing for the explosion dynamics in this game. I loved destroying anything that could . Even the desk which seemed to be explosive as well hahaha good times.
Michael Joyce The suspense of just breaking out of the cell, with no weapon unless you were a pro enough to get the knives then trying to stealth your way around without triggering any alarms.
I hope I don't end up in Siberia Any Time Soon. I Wont Forget My Parka If I Have to Make A Short But Brief Lay Over In Severnaya. I Wont Have Time. And I'll Have To Shoot Through Things.
James: Guard, you have to help me, I'm sick! Guard: You must think I was born yesterday! James: **Opens cell door and knocks guard out** No, just last week.
It trips me out that "Soul survivor" by young Jeezy, "woah" by la goony and daredevil theme sound alike. I think they maybe took inspiration on this song 🤔
I found this out awhile ago, but the entire song is actually a slow down version of the first Bunker's "alarm triggered" music, and the "timer activation" music on this stage is a faster version of the first Bunker's main theme. Holy shit.
@1nonlyrawbert it was also fun blowing her up on the jungle stage, since u start the level with remote mines. watching the explosion send her flying never got old XD
thats because you set off the alarm. you have to clear the place out then when shes messin with the computer and the alarm goes off just run straight out the level.
Sounds about right. Grant Kirkhope, the composer for Goldeneye, said he went back and listened to all of the themes from the old movies at least 100 times by his account.
0:36 NA NA NA NA NAAAA NAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!. NA NA NA NA NAAAA NAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!. NA NA NA NA NAAAA NAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!. NA NA NA NA NAAAA NAAAAAAAAAA!!!! :3
I remember turning on the invisibility cheat, and shooting next to all the guards to lure them into one place, and then set a shit ton of remote mines at their feet, and eventually blow them all up. all youd see are bodies flying through the air it was funny
The best thing to do was let her stay in that cell and kill all the arctic soldiers before letting her out.Sometimes you might accidentally kill her depending on how many gaurds you take out in the middle of the shoot out.
I mostly just played multiplayer with this map and the archive and just played around lol. Then actually tried to play through the actual game, I think I got stuck on either "Jungle" or "Cradle"
@CF40 The N64 was clearly the best damn console on the market (graphics wise), but its only draw-backs were lack of CD-R capabilities, and in due-diligence (Beyond the RE2 port), this held the N64 back from probably crushing the PS1 (cause of storage limitations on a cart/112kps audio playback; it couldn't port other big-market games at that time like Metal Gear Solid).
