GOLDENEYE | Bond vs Trevelyan

James Bond 007

On this day in 1995, shooting began on Bond and Alex Trevelyan’s climactic fight scene in GOLDENEYE. Pierce Brosnan’s debut 007 film was the first to extensively utilize digital effects with 140 CGI shots alongside traditional special effects including this fight scene. “The fight scene goes on and on and on,” recalled Sean Bean. “It’s a hell of a showdown. It’s not just about fighting. It’s seeing it in their eyes as much as anything - seeing the link between them and they’re having to fight to the death.”

Brosnan's best Bond-film..... I just love this one..... Brosnan has a great balance between humour and seriousness in this one..... GOLDENEYE is surely one of the best in the franchise.....
@TheEDFLegacy
@TheEDFLegacy 3 года назад
Agreed. It's a shame it went from amazing to hilarity over the later films. It's also a shame that Brosnan dropped out later on, but I think it was for the best, as his version of Bond was fatally compromised by the hilarity of the later movies (particularly TWINE), and Daniel Craig helped reboot the franchise and steer it back to its more serious roots. Time will tell if the upcoming movie - and the future Bond(s) will keep it going, particularly with MGM's serious financial issues.

Natalya has to be one of the most useful Bond girls ever She survived that ordeal in the commanding centre at the beginning, and was super clever to hide the way she did when Xenia, Orumov slaughtered the scientists. Shares the information with Bond about who the Russian traitor is . She makes the difference in the discussion between Bond and a Russian minister of Defense, when she screams about boys with toys Kicks a chair at Orumov which enables Bond to overpower him - Turns Bond around when the latter is firing a machine gun in the Archive, at Orumov's soldiers to alert him for more approaching him from the back - Immediately helps him knock over the book stands. . Hacks her rival Boris' computer and therefore finds the right information and lead for the next destination while both are seconds away from blowing up with the train - Further agonizes Boris on this satelite tower, mocks and defies him which caused him to lose his shit and click the exploding pen enough times which allows them to escape. - Sneaks aboard the helicopter to threaten the pilot. Alec is distracted and thus Bond seizes his chance to turn the tables and takes control of the figh and then takes care of his opponent. - Gets Bond off the platform safely with the helicopter. Xenia was badass, but so was Simonova, because she wasn't a psychopath and a trained killer or a fighter. She has heart and she puts it to good use.

It's just sad that it ended the way it did; underfunded, neglected, and left to a fate it didn't exist. Rest in peace, old friend. Daniel Craig has many of his own stunts in his fight scenes and has received a number of injuries performing his stunt including shoulder injuries, knee surgery, lost a tip of his finger during filming of Casino Royale during sword fight. Pierce Brosnan and Sean Bean did the fight scenes themselves. "006: For England James? 007: No For Me." This line is very much like Dalton's LTK line when saying to Killifer "No, You Keep It Old Buddy". Guess, its right that this movie was prepared with Dalton in mind and LTK and Goldeneye always resemble some similarities despite 6 years gap. Difference is that he avenged Sanchez in LTK for Felix and in Goldeneye he avenged 006 for betraying him.
