1.Interesting thing to note, Vampire Takeover shows the Vampire Sorcerer converting a modern landscape into that of the Vampire Kingdom (hence it summoning the card directly from the deck) Implying that the Vampire Sorcerer and all the members of the new wave of support , lead by their version of Dracula the Vampire Vojvode, are survivors of the genocide and are executing their revenge by taking back what humanity stole. Becoming everything they were feared for in the first place. So , in a way, Camula got her wish, she just didn't live long enough to see it. 2. Overall, Vampires might just be one of my favorite archetypes in the game. Not just because of the Castlevania inspired designs and lore, but also because its just so rare for an archetype to COMPLETELY change course and be rebranded the way this one has. Going from an inneficient and slow "bleeding" effect that helps your opponent more then anything else nowadays, to one focused on losing and gaining LP , reviving themselves and each other ,as well as potentially devastating Monster snatching. You gotta give Konami credit, they did a good job reviving a decade old archetype.
Please tell this that one guy that named the Yubel forms in the OCG: Das Abscheulich Ritter? Das Extremer Traurig Drachen? Das Ewig Liebe Wächter? Seriously? ^^

Vampire Red Baron is riding a vampire horse. I bring this up because when I first saw the card art, I was reminded of an old JoJo meme. AC/DC: [Sleeping peacefully] Cars, bursting into the room: _"AC/DC!!!"_ AC/DC: [Spurred awake with a look of shock and confusion] Cars: _"Vampire Masks, but for horses!"_ AC/DC: [Hollering in realization]
Ohhh same, wish Genesis has a bit of support in the future to bring him out easily cause he is a really cool boss monster and his effect is actually useful
@@ThatOneWeirdFlex maybe he can get a power up, like Jinzo and the Harpies, I know it's a brick but I still tend to side him in my vamp builds just for the sake of the art 🦇😅
vampire dragon's face is like that because it's one of the few cards in the game to have it's concept art drawn by a child who won a contest! it's fairly accurate to the original drawing too, just drawn to look more like a yugioh card.
No, Vampire was incomplete at the time due to NOT covering anything earlier than Dark Saviors. A few others like Dragonmiad might also get this treatment, but don’t expect much
And immediately after stumbling across one of your old videos, it turns out you just released a video on the archetype that got me into the game. Seriously great stuff you put out by the way. It’s all really helpful and informative.
I love Vampires and Zombies in general. As a very good tech piece: Ghost Fusion is great on the Deck. Not only you lower your LP very fast, which let you use it at it full potential, your turn 1 combo usually ends on Beatrice without locking you into anything, so you can use Beatrice to send Ghost Princess and search Ghost Fusion (remember to detach Grace for that), then use Ghost Fusion with a DARK Zombie you don't need (usually Shadow) and by banishing Changshi the Spiridao from Deck to Summon Garura. Now you can Summon Changshi by banishing Shadow from GY (which you can get back to your hand on your next turn thanks to Ghost Princess second effect for follow up) and, guess what, A level 5 or higher Zombie monster was Special Summoned by the effect of a Zombie monster, so you can Summon Grace from GY if you haven't use her effect yet. From there you get another foolish of a Zombie and 3 level 6s to work with and a draw with Garura, or 2 6s and an 8 if you Fusion Summoned Dragonecro instead
GoldenNova: "Vampire Genesis' revival effect isn't good since you need a high enough zombie monster to use it." Eldlich the Golden Lord: "Ay-yo?!" Eldlich just keeps ruining Nova's day. It is a nice combo if you can pull it off since you can discard Eldlich through Genesis, special summon a level 9 or under which covers a lot of ground there's only 7 zombies this can't target, discard a spell or trap to activate Eldlich's graveyard effect, and then special summon another zombie, if you happen to summon something other than Eldlich then you can repeat this sequence. It's a +1 advantage at the cost of 1 spell or trap, it's a bit clunky, I've never pulled it off but the theoretical move is sound.
Because Vampire Kingdom sucks as is... I made this as a Camula reference! Vampire Infernalvania - Illusion Gate Field Spell Effect: (This card is always treated as "Vampire Kingdom".) When this card is activated: Destroy all monsters your opponent controls, then Special Summon 1 monster from either GY, ignoring its Summoning conditions. Zombie monsters gain 500 ATK during damage calculation only. Once per turn, when a card(s) is sent from your opponent's Deck to the GY (Quick Effect): Target 1 card on the field; send 1 DARK "Vampire" monster from your hand or Deck to the GY, and if you do, destroy all monsters on the field. You cannot Normal Summon/Set the turn this effect is activated. If you were wondering, yes, I interpreted some of the effects of Illusion Gate and tried to PSCT Infernalvania for this, too, as well as combining them with Vampire Kingdom. As a bonus, for any Vampire Lady effect across Vampires... what if the sent card is placed face-down in the GY? Just to kick the opponent in the teeth and ensure that that half of the archetype is fittingly restricted for being more annoying?
There is nothing funnier, than when your opponent is about to summon a monster from the extra deck, only for me to tribute 2 monsters in their field for vampire voivode because zombie world+sucker+ghost is a double kaiju.
My favourite archetype; even way back in DM, Vampire Lord (and still is) was my favourite card. One of these days he'll see a retrain finally... I hope... (And I really do hope Vampires get even more support in the future. Especially a Link 1. It would immediately get so much better, even if just as an Engine for another Zombie strategy, if an Ash'd Vampire Ghost could actually be linked into the grave...). Another thing that would be amazing is a Rank 2 and/or 3 monster to make Vampire's Desire work by targeting familiar, sending retainer, then self-revive retainer (and vice versa). Until then I guess playing a suboptimal generic will do. Though running Zenmaines out of Archetype in the year of our lord 2023 feels kind of strange... ;) Aaaaand since I am already wishing for the stars, can we get a retrain of Vampire Kingdom (name it Vampire Empire or sth, and yes, I do know that that is the translation of the ocg name) that always counts as Kingdom to go with the times of milling the opponent being awful? ESPECIALLY with Kingdom able to miss timing. I remember Shadow Vampire's release... They really did him dirty. THREE restrictions AND possibly missing timing, all while things like Satellar Knights were a thing... And there were exactly 3 Dark XYZ that needed 2 material that were out at the time. Asmodeus, Vampire Bram, and Shark Fortress...
There is one more reason for Vampire Kingdom only to give the ATK boost during the attacks to matter: Vampire Vamp effect's of stealing the opponent mosnter specify that the ATK of that mosnter must be higher, therefore, by not increasing her ATK from 2000 to 2500 by default gives her more range of monsters to take away, including a bunch of XYZ being played at the time. In all honesty, I even forgot that the direct attack spell was a thing and probably that was the main reason for how Kingdom was designed, but it is also possible when they designed Vamp they took in account the field spell as a means to balance her effect.
Honestly, there's very little about Yu-Gi-Oh that upsets me more than vampire lady, lord and genesis being bad. Those guys were my absolute jam when I was a kid.
I'm surprised they didn't change the Patrician Of Darkness name so he could synergize better with the Vampire Archtype like what they did with Vampire Baby.
I run a pure vampire deck, and it's my fourth favorite deck after Labrynth, Red-Eyes, and Gravekeepers. I was quite miffed that Vampire Koala, which had the exact same effect as Vampire's Domain, got cut from being considered a "true" vampire card. I tried to put him in my deck but all the vampire support cards required a DARK vampire, whereas Koala was Earth-type. I know most of the vampire cards after Lord, Lady, Baby, and Genesis are based off the Castlevania series, but I wish Koala got a retrain so he could join his brethren, since his effect worked well on its own, and 1800 was nothing to sneeze at back in the day.
Grimson is a Reference to Death a main antagonist of the Castlevania series and who is literally Death that explains why it has an effect to protect your monsters from destruction making a blood pact with him Vampire Vamp is based on the Succubuss and maybe carmilla from Castlevania... but i would stay with the succubuss do to the effect of equipping an opponent monster and draining its ATK as a succbuss draining the life force from its victim while seducing it Dhampire must be Alucard but i'm not really sure what i'm really sure is that his Summoning Trick to use an opponent monster as a level 6 is a reference of how Dhampires born from a Human Woman (your opponent monster) and a Male Vampire (your monsters) MEANWHILE with Zombie Vampire is the opposite the using of a enemy mosnters as level 8s is a reference of using the soul of thouse monsters as a sacrifice to bring back DRACULA itself from the death and its confirmed by the fact that is called ZOMBIE vampire meaning that has returned from Death once more
For the Vampire single card mill effect, they should get support to buff it by either making the card being dumped random after the type selection or slap a one turn negate lock on cards with that name.
Yesssss I LOVE the Vampire deck, its one of my favorite casual decks that i enjoy playing around this time of year, been doing it since dark saviors and plan to play it at my locals all month long for fun lmao Also Vampire lord is one of my fav old school yugioh cards, i used him all the time with friends with my old zombie deck
What really gets me with Vampires is not something directly on them, but that Konami has not made something with Werewolfes, who i´d say are rather connected to the Bloodthirsty Aristocrats
As a Vampire player I'm glad this archetype got an revamped, proper overview. I absolutely hate Kingdom, by the way, because it ties the deck way too hard into its old mechanic. While I -controversially- don't *hate* the lady-esque mill effect, Vampires really don't have tools they'd need for the effect to be any good at all, with Voivode being the only reason I can stand the effect being in our deck. Plus it's actually stupidly hard to even get the lady effect off at tines, since there are so few cards that can get it off with any degree of ease, with Grace being the easiest, but also annoying to get out at times. I've always been a pure Vamos player, and it really sucks that running Kingdom is just so bad. Konami really needs to print an alternate field spell that's always treated as Kingdon so we can actually make use of. Kingdom does one kinda decent thing and it just diesn't do it well, with the only major benefit it has ever provided me being that it sometimes keeps me from being otk'd by decks that also like to mill their cards. I'd seriously propose a Vampire Necrovalley if I were doing card design... But yeah, hopefully we get some new cards soon-ish, since this is one of my absolute favorite decks to play.
Be aware that Vampire Voivode negate only once per turn although it's not restricted in his card. For me I got rid of it untill they fix it . And by the way, Vampire Grace second effect is in fact garbage untill you put the vampire field spell then you can destroy any card you like and feel her majesty presence.
I gave retrains to the OG bosses of Vampires. Vampire Lord - Reincarnated Attribute: DARK Type: Zombie Level: 5 Atk: 2000 Def: 1500 Effect1: This card is always treated as “Vampire Lord”. Effect2: You can Special Summon this card from your Hand or GY by banishing one Zombie Monster from Either Player’s GY. This effect can only be used once per turn. Effect3: (Quick Effect) If this card is tributed to summon “Vampire Genesis”, then that summoned monster is unaffected by your opponent’s card effects. _________________________ Vampire Genesis - Reborn Attribute: DARK Type: Zombie Level: 8 Atk: 3000 Def: 2100 Effect1: This card is always treated as “Vampire Genesis”. Effect2: You can Special Summon this card by tributing 1 “Vampire Lord” on your side of the field. Effect3: You’re Opponent cannot Tribute Monsters while this card is face-up on the field. Effect4: If this card leaves the field, Special Summon it during the End Phase, and if you do, banish up to three cards from your opponent’s GY. Thoughts?
@@RedDragonForce2 I mean on reborn the banish 3 in opponents grave. If he leaves the field for any reason is kind of strong at least have it that it needs to be destroyed in someway rather then just leave the field
Very neat video. Been playing vampires for forever. They are so close to become a decent standalone deck. Give us ust one more support wave Konami come on. For now they work best with the P.U.N.K. and Ghost Fusion engine. Testing with the new Horus stuff and it's working great.
We've got a pretty expensive Vampire archetype. But where are the Werewolves? Sure we get a warwolf or 2 in other archetypes. But not one of their own.
Cool archetype, but you gotta wonder what’s up with Vampire Sucker’s artwork. It just seems so discontinuous with the rest of the archetype, rather than going with the gothic castlevania look or even that weird giant claw clothing motif of earlier vampires she’s a … anime teenage witch girl with high top high heel sneakers. She that moon in the background isn’t even red!
....Its one of þe link vampires and knowing what takeover did make me believe þat she's a newer generation vampire, like its summoning mechanic. Besides, someone needs to refresh þe boomers how þe world works like knowing what type of easy pickings for food.
Probably closer to 40 due to the low amount of low level playmakers and high amount of big bosses that have trouble hitting the board. But if you wanna go for 60, then make sure to include as much generic Zombie support as possible
60 allow you to run more generic Zombies and gas while also seeing the high level Vampires you don't want in hand less, but the Decks always want to open 2 to 3 names. In the end is mostly personal preference, but I would recommend to start with a 40 card Dexk because is less expensive, that way you can see how you prefer it
I will not tolerate kingdom and takeover slunder. The value they get you is ridiculous. And it's super easy to weave Duke into your special summon chains to easily trigger kingdom every turn on both player's turn and get a plus 2 every time. Zombie World be damned, I hate playing that package in other zombie decks unless it's dedicated zombie world deck.
