Done this few years ago on my way back home, but stayed in Saanen cause was already late when went from Montreux. If you can, go visit some mountain passes before they get closed cause of snow. Best and most are by car, few are by buses, very few by train reachable. 3 months to go am again off to Japan and this time staying in Kobe and Itoshima. Always done Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, so that i mostly know all off those cities. Walked all over. 😅 Kobe been 4x but never stayed there. Friend from Sanda visiting. I hope you will and can enjoy the most of Switzerland. 🙏👍
Hi Anna and thanks for another fantastic video. I'll be in Switzerland in May 2024 but I'm not sure if I'll have a chance to ride on this train as my itinerary is quite full but I'm hoping to visit Montreaux just to see Freddie's statue and the studio where Queen created many of their albums. Not sure if I'll have the time to visit Chillon Castle as I want to take the ferry from Lausanne over to Evian in France. Who knows - I may yet find the time to squeeze this train trip in my itinerary? Take care of yourself and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

We also took a ride from Montreux to Zweisimmen with Belle Epoque in last January, we already bought swiss travel pass for 2nd class but at that time the Belle Epoque was so crowded and some passengers are even sitting on the floor. We found a seat in the 1st class with no reservation flap so we took it without any problems.
Great video Anna 💯 Had a similar experience in a cafe in Ginza. Ordered a doppio/double shot espresso and through a combination of bad Japanese/English, was told I had to pay for 2 coffees 🤷🏻♂️

I don't think you have to because I didn't but it's better to do it especially if it's full...which we never know. And I saw some "reserved seats" so...I think you can do it at the desk of the station.
Hi, I would take the Belle Epoque train from Montreau to Zweisimmen. Please advise if I should take seat 11, 13 or 15. Not too sure which seat runs from Montreau to Zweisimmen onwards. Thank you.
You said the second class was cute, but you were showing the meal train, not the second class, which looks very similar to the first class. Just in case others are confused by this part. You were very lucky they didn’t charge you. This is not normal in Switzerland, I don’t recommend travellers risk this as you would most often get a fine and pay the difference.

Grumpy waiters are unfortunately nothing unusual, especially if you don't speak their language, but I haven't experienced that in Switzerland the times I've been there
Yeah, unfortunately some waiters here aren't nice. Maybe it's because the tip is included and they don't need to show an extra effort. But usually we Swiss are nice. A bit recerved but once you get to our hearts you will have a true friend.
@@travelloveranna Most often it's that they speak too bad English so they don't want to deal with one, often had that problem in Japan in the 80s came to the door and there it was Japanese only a bit frustrating after 15-20 times
