He was actually in Goldfinger at this point. He was the drummer in goldfinger during the comeback album “The Knife”, and Mike was the bassist for that album, and still currently the bassist of Goldfinger. I never thought I’d see this when I was in high school.
hmmm...I think I remember my brother introducing me to them with this song as well. One of my fav tho is Ban the Tube Top, actually the whole Cheer Up! album :D
So funny to see all the people in the comments. They don't seem to know that these guys have been working together like this for decades. Gold finger is in the sell out video. I saw them in the early 2000's on the Crouching fish hidden finger tour. These guys always impress.
I was stoked to have Goldfinger play there fist Orange County performance. They where great! I asked Reel Big Fish to play but could not afford to have them play. I only booked bands to play with money I had topay and promote hard to give thgem a big crowd etc.. Being a club in Newport Beach I only would mostly promote the Newport & Huntington Beach area with some clubs in Costa Mesa too having too many 909ers can cause beach locals/surfers to not keep coming. Starting on a Fri night between the OP Pro and US open week long surfing championships with a quicksilver party having BOX CAR WINO featured on Quicksilvers surf/snowboard film that year named Cheap &Deep after a song they have on it with permision from a rep and kind of friend and my neighbor at the time went well and we continued to do it A lot of time and work. Not a lot of money for me and my friend /partner but a lot of fun. Having bands like Goldfinger One Hit Wonder El Centro Burnin Groove Drammaramma X Members Manic Hispanic SubLime with Brad Joyride Knockout 96 Decible Freaks HED PE and so many more was alot of fun1
This brings back so many memories of being in a band and playing at shows, then going to see the big guys play at a real show. I loved that time in my life, and this video genuinely brought a smile to my face I couldn't get rid of. Thank you for sharing!!
Maybe because he was in a little known ska band by the name of The Aquabats before he joined Blink 182. The Aquabats are actually pretty famous. They've got a kids show and some hilarious songs and videos. Definitely worth checking out if you have the time.
