When visiting my brother in Seattle years ago, he asked if I wanted to go see Goldfrapp with him. I said; “Who?” Intoxicating, mesmerizing, stunning, amazing, enchantingly beautiful. There are not enough superlatives to describe that experience. I was drunk on her performance, and I was stone cold sober!
How I wish to see them live ... someone pls tell me that this could be my reality one day . I was just recently turned on to them and somehow missed their touring days ...I had to have been in a coma during that time lol ! I absolutely LOVE this band ! Her angelic voice sends goosebumps down my spine .
MS and RF thanks for the heads-up ... hopefully they can make it back to the states soon before this pandemic takes me out ! And RF I’m with you on the ‘Electro” comment , besides her awesome voice , their unique sound , it’s the electronic flavor that draws you in .
She brings tears to my eyes with some of their songs. And I say "their" because she's not alone. Really got into them this year. Love this band and can't stop listening to them. Massive talent.
Alison Goldfrapp is (at least for me) the hottest and sexiest singer ever on multiple levels. She's charming, intelligent, cute as hell and a fantastic musician. Just oozes erotic and artistic energy.
Major events happening in my life when this album was released.... I bought a pricey last minute ticket to this concert in New York City. The seat was front row center and it was like Alison was performing just for me.... it was an extremely moving experience for me.... I honestly could cry thinking about it....
This wonderful album, Seventh Tree, was released in 2008 and I was wasting my time hearing Hard Candy, Madonna's album, a trashy album to be honest, that was released in that year. How I would have wanted to know this album in that year, this is real music, not like other singers that get millions of views.
I think Goldfraap is fantastic and will be always (pun acknowledged) but nocking Madonna is not the way to go. Madonna is probably a far better singer. Take “Evita” for instance. Musically she gets blown away (Madonna that is). Blown away, arhem…. .
I was thinking the same,I saw her at Union chapel in 2007 or 8 it was unreal and I cooked for her after the show her partner had Sea Bass I forget what she had well I do remember her eyes.
It is, sadly, their loss - but there's still time to catch on. You cannot measure quality by quantity - that's the distinction between Alison & Ma(c)donna(lds).
Love Goldfrapp. Reminds me a bit of ELO at times, just with a more progressive sound, and a much more talented and hotter vocalist - no offense Mr. Lynne! 😀
