That was awesome, i have seen some titles zip ties, haven't seen any I actually clicked on though, you have a 1800 but your front is the same size as my 1500, I have a 99. I searched hi and low locally for someone to buy a tire machine from because I am so low budget I didn't even want to pay harbor freight prices ( they are now black by the way, no longer ed. LOL. 0 so I got the tire machine, the motorcycle tire kit, and the Bubble balancer all for less than a tank of gas in my wing. LOL I bolted it with drop in anchors to a slab out in the back yard. I have not used it a bike yet. But I have been taking old tires off the car wheels I have out there and it is working really great. two were difficult as can be because they were DOT 1989! LOl and rusted on. but i just saw your zip tie demo so I think this is going to be a piece of cake! i have what I feel like is a lifetime supply of giant zip ties! LOL also though , I have been using them for plastic welding but still probably near 1200 or so black white clear and green/ they were gifted to me. my back tire is different than yours, 160 80 16. might be easier than the front who knows. my tires are DOT 2009 though! YIKES!! i rode on those for over 1000 miles before I checked them after I got the bike . i aM GOING TO TRY sHINKO jOURNE the SR733 734 set.. I gotta great deal on them and they look awesome my old Dunlop e 3 set is still up and running but so cracked and split you would not believe it if you didn't see it. they are BAD! This outta be interesting.

Mo, love that "electric/neon" orange color on your ride!👍❤️. Now to do the fairing to match, and, you'll be stylin' & profilin' on the road in SPADES! Zip tie method does the trick when you do the maintenance on your bike at home!⭐⭐⭐🎉🤭 Doug

Good video. I put ceramic balancers on. I love them it has taken that slight vibration out of the front.

I take my own tires off and remount on my '08. I just pay an independent tire shop $10 to swap out the rubber. I use the centramatic wheel balancers, so I dont have to worry about balancing.

I bent BOTH of my front rotors muscling my front tire on and off in a similar way. You need to remove the rotors if going to do this kind of job. I learned the hard way. With the help from a good friend, we managed to literally bend/true the rotors back into place and saved having to replace them.

Did you not use wooden blocks under the rim? I've done this with no issues bending the rotors as long as the rim is supported. Best to use 4x4's or two 2x4's screwed together and have them long enough to extend past the rims (so they don't slip off). Of course removing the rotors works fine too just a bit more work.

More zip ties definitely would have been so much easier. I've used about 10 - 12 and didn't even need to use a tire "spoon", just my hands and knees. FYI - you can actually reuse the zip ties from the old tire by inserting a tiny screwdriver under the zip tie lock to release it. Good job tho. Cheers.

I suggest a pair of rim protectors. Get the bigger ones with the 2 holes in them. They work much better than the small ones with the strings. Also tin snips cut zip ties like scissors do paper.

Dont know if you did this yet but check your Preload Adj. It seems a common issue to have to add hyd fluid to the pump. Mine was doing nothing from 0-9 of 25 on the display. After adding I now have 3-25 giving more ride height.

Useful video, thanks. How did you break the old tyre loose from the rim, and how did you get on inflating the new tyre so the bead popped on to the rim?

Dude.......why? I took my wheel to the dealer, walked around for 20 mins, looked at some new bikes, got it back, balanced, clean and done. This whole thing was $56.00 out the door. I , also do almost everything in my garage, however some things just not worth it for me.
@mosmotorcyclejourney9067
@mosmotorcyclejourney9067 Год назад
Dude..... why? because I wanted to. The dealer here was backed up 4 weeks, and I'm inpatient. So that is why. Now I can do them myself because I have all I need to do it. Even going darkside. Do it myself. There is nothing like the feeling of riding your bike knowing the work that was done. You did it. So you paid 54 bucks to have 1 tire mounted and balanced. I paid around 60 bucks for all the stuff to do it. And I can do any tire for free from here on out. Just the cost of the tire. Thanks for the comment and for watching. Ride safe out there.
