Hello. Great video! I’m in the process of changing the water pump, and would like to know where did you buy the gaskets and how do you order therm. I would very much appreciate your help!
Oh, it was 5 years ago, i dont remember where i bought them from. Get the parts diagram pdf, look up exact part number and the search the internet, multiple online stores still sell parts.
I couldn't see if you replaced the crush washers that secure the water pump into the front cover. If you didn't it can leak oil into the coolant. They are special aluminum washers.
Hi Thomas, please I need your help. I need to buy plastigage to size the bearing's I will be needing for my Gl 1000 .I don't know which one to buy for the bigend and main bearing.thank you .good day.
The water pump bottom bolt. Is there a O ring inside where the pump attaches, or is there a washer on the head of the bolt? I have a drip from the bolt head
Drip on the outside of the case? Water pump bolts on from the inside of the front case cover. 2 orings separate water and oil. Once water pump fails it starts leaking from weep hole. Gaskets seal the rest. No bolts go through cooling passages.
Hi Tomas I ordered a new pump and thought that the gaskets come with it but they didn't. I do have the large one that seals the pump to the case. Would you think I would be safe to reuse the old seals and gaskets as I live in NZ and it takes a month before the new seaks and gaskets arrive. I could strip it down again and install the new seals and gaskets. Thanks for the video on how to do it. George
@@TomasMazukna Hi could I just ask one more question. I have the usual smoke on start up and have new valve seals that I an fitting soon. Are the exhaust and inlet seals the same size? Thanks again.
@@georgemooyman7155 I don't know about valve sizes. Look it up on the parts catalog or service manual. Mine used to smoke a bit on one size after startup but would clear up once warm.
Hi, i had a motorbike goldwing gl1100, this bike is overhead just begin, open the water pump the bike don't have a thermostat there are one thermostat fix in the bike from the another model of motorbike...? I live in Mexico is complicated buy pieces for this bike, could you help me. Thanks...!
I don't know if any other thermostat fits gl1100. If your bike overheats, thermostat will not fix it. Is your water pump good? Is your radiator fan working? Radiator not clogged?
Thanks mine radiador is clogged, is in service of clean just now, is necesary put the thermostat..?, The water pump had a litlle play the bearing could change the bearing i don't need Buy a full water pump...? Thanks for your help.
@@lazaroalbertocamarillohern6530 You need a thermostat, otherwise the engine will never get up the required temperature and will not run right. Waterpump is not rebuildable. If it is not leaking, leave it as is.
Hi Thomas please can you tell me where I can buy all the water pump spares (water pump ,the two gaskets, all the o rings, oil seals and the bearing) I am from South Africa.thank you.
