Thanks for your review. I want to use this device for my traveling computer for back up my 4k videos and raw photos. Do you think its capable for that purpose?
I bought an hannspree 21 monitor and it came with a tiny mini pc, and it just recently, went faulty after 6 years regular use and it was fantastic,it was the size of a cigarette box absolutely brilliant, a Google message keeps coming on screen,Google services not working, and as I have photos, music, and medical information,I don't want to lose them, if I reset the mini android pc,I have tried everything, but no joy, but honestly these little mini pc are fantastic
Which did u say was or would be a better purchase than this ...to run at least three programs at a time browser , outlook and Remote Desktop as example
Hi, I find the Gole1 very interesting as MP3 / MP4 players go to work. I dabe to a few questions. Can be set up to lay Gole1 in the jerk set a screen lock? How long can I ca with a full battery with off-screen music through Bluetooth / 3.5 jack Can remove the antenna?
Hi, Is it possible you to test the nox emulator on it, to see if it works flawless ? If you have much time, could you test the game ffbe with macro? Thanks
Hey Brad, awesome find! About the gamepad on Android, did you try using an USB OtG cable with that micro USB port? Just a hunch, but perhaps most ports are off when you are using Android, and you need to use accessories much like an Android phone with that micro USB port... Anyways, sounds like a neat little device for all sorts of applications... it'd be awesome if Linux distros becomes compatible with all the stuff in it, might be a good diagnostics tool on the go. Thanks for bringing this to us! I was thinking of getting another Kangaroo PC for me (got one for my mom), perhaps this one might do the trick better for what I want... a portable multipurpose device that is smaller than a regular laptop/desktop. Kangaroo must still be a bit more powerful with X5-Z8500, but oh well.
It's true, the USB ports are not functional when running Android. However Bluetooth enabled controllers are an option [exactly like most Android phones]. When running Windows 10 all the USB ports are completely functional. I used my Xbox One controller on the Gole. No problems! Keyboard, external 1TB hhd, all operate with no issues.
Doesn't make sense. Minute 12 he is using a mouse via usb in android. All the android pc boxes i had have standard usb ports and no microusb. Some software must be needed for the gamepad to function in android. The microsoft xbox controller is compatible by default with microsoft windows
True! I dunno how I missed that one... Perhaps something to do with the OS implementation then? XBox 360 gamepad compatibility should come as a standard with OtG, and it's been in smartphones since Android 4.0. I know that some of these chinese laptops and micro desktops comes with a highly modified version of Android that I don't particularly like... got some very cheap generic tablet not long ago here that had some extremely shady stuff with it. Some factory apps that ran all the time and that would factory reset the device if you forced an uninstall by rooting (you couldn't uninstall by default), and that kept sending alerts and make you go through a configuration step from time to time. Really really crap practices throughout. In any case, my Gole 1 will probably be arriving soon... when brazilian mail services get out of the current strike situation and finally decides to deliver my order after a couple of months of waiting. :P Then I'll be able to test it more thoroughtly... if I find anything new, I'll post here.
The USB ports are not functional while using Android. While in Windows 10 mode, my Xbox One controller natively runs via [the Gole's] USB or Bluetooth connections. While running the Gole's Android OS, it only works via Bluetooth.
Isn't Brad using at least the mouse on Android in the video though? This is something I hadn't spotted that JC pointed out in his comment... Though I have to imagine it's not a complete implementation of OtG or something... Anyways, my Gole1 just arrived today! xD Will be testing it out soon enough... thanks for the feedback!
it's fine lol thanks for replying. I've been trying to find these gole 1 things but shipping takes too long and I want to get the most upgraded model but it's hard to find a seller
this is the device I've always wanted and I never thought anyone would ever make one. there is the oqo but it's very outdated and rare. this thing however, has both windows and android, something I thought no one ever wanted or would make
its a regular computer so you can install any os compatible with pc. however WARNING you will most likely not be able to use the touchscreen and finding compatible audio drivers might be a problem. but it will run classic games fantastically. I got mine to run modern warfare 2 at 70s and 80s fps online.
My has not been charging properly. With it on, Windows shows it is plugged in, but that it is not charging. Android does the same thing. I've tried both the regular charger and a microUSB. Did you have any issues with this?
Given that it has windows, you could load on steam an play AAA games at ultralow settings, It would technically be better than a PS vita, dead space 3 at 800 by 600, runs fine on a baytrail 2 watt... Aliens isolation crashes at all low settings... That's with a 64gb class 10 micro sd. Hand held half life 2 anyone? It would be more productive than an Android phone... and better that having a chrome cast adapter.
nah. even a pentium quad fails to really run windows 10. (pentium quad is basically an atom cpu with a BIT more power, but nothing spectacular) Techically you could run some games, but it really starts to suffer.
yeah i agree and i saw a whole bunch of videos of windows tablets with 1gb of ram running skyrim and stuff pretty well just attach a keyboard or a controller
I have one. The WiFi works fine. The Bluetooth connectivity is dodgy at best. Them released a boys update that cleans that up as well as a battery issue.
The Rasberry Pi is not better than this thing. This would smoke the Rasberry Pi. Also, this is an x86 device. The RPI is ARM only. It can't run popular software outside of what is available in the Linux distro you install on it. This runs full desktop Windows and any of the countless applications that will run on any laptop or desktop PC.
Maybe the OQO Model 01 and Model 02, but I think just barely. Though, at least those had built in keyboards to justify their size. EDIT: Oh wait, the smallest UMPC ever is the Fujitsu F-07C, but that was Japan-only and had extremely awful performance and battery life when in Windows mode.
It has taken many years for general technology to catch up to the original OQO. Thermal design was always an issue but with the latest processors not so much any more. I owned about half a dozen OQOs now I have moved onto stick computers.. looking at this machine brings back a lot of memories..
I loved mine. If you check out my chanel I did many mods to mine such as i was the first person to cut the antenna off and put it inside and cap off the hole. and add copper shims for better cooling and optimize the os for performance and allocate 1gb of ram to the intel hd graphics.
+Spartan Patten If you use the 2gb ram model you can run it on lowest settings for around 40-50 fps.The more powerful variant will help you,not much but it will definitely help.If you want to know how the atom x5-z8300 (the one inside the gole1) runs windows games, take a look at other windows tablets with the same specifications. This setup (atom x5,2gb/4gb RAM,32gb emmc) is quite common with the chinese tablets.I recommend you see Chuwi Vi8 plus gaming test made by techtablets. The tablet has the same hardware as the gole1,and you can get an idea of what the gole1 can do.Just search in youtube Chuwi Vi8 plus gaming test and click the video that is made by Techtablets.Sorry for long answer lol.
Hey! That video was pretty cool. Great price here - it's for 175.99 USD with coupon code: GBGOLEPE www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-pc/pp_608687.html?wid=21&lkid=10691170 I hope it will be useful ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TQQgGHnVFiU.html
Yes, GPD is more powerful but also much more expensive. I would say GPD is a UMPC if that category still exists, and GOLE 1 is like a windows tablet like HP stream 7
