OMG Mark destroying the Synagogue in the setup was hilarious. I literally choked on my morning coffee...lol This is why I love live play throughs... so much fun.
Thanks Paul for the playthrough. Looks like another solid euro from Cranio. Eager to try this. Also, not that it changes anything, but Mark should have gotten four more points for his red menorahs scoring. He only counted three red menorahs and two golems when he actually had five menorahs.
Another wonderful playthrough. I didn't like the look of this game on its face but you definitely have shown that it is a good and, more importantly, fun game. Thanks.
Great game play guys. The only thing I would add is an action marker for when you're choosing the marble. You really wouldn't need it but it would help the game play a little bit :).
@1:32:00 Paul forgot to pay his coin to mirror, doesn't affect the game at all. And also during the final upgrade of round 4 I think both Mark and Rob could have used all those resources to upgrade a 3x minora tile netting 6 pts rather than the 2 they each got.
Wasn’t sure about this game when I saw the cover, seems more interesting after seeing it played thru. Doubt I’ll get it though with so many other euros. Doesn’t really have a different feel to it tbh
I am thinking about marbels and synagogue mechanic. It seems to be giving the first player a significant advantage. Is it something you observed in your games?
Hmm... this game looks fun, and I think I like it better than Lorenzo... but that isn't saying much really. I'm not a huge fan of the marble tower thing. I do like the basic idea of the golems though!
I love my heavy euros, especially my Lacerdas but I'm bouncing off this pretty hard. Looks are meh at best and the gameplay feels like doing euro things for the sake of doing euro things. Not really moved. Surprising given the hype. Oh well, fingers crossed Boonlake will live up to the hype.
