The performance of the new golf 8 R is insane, incredible for a hot hatch with "only" 320 hp. The car is slightly quicker than an old RS3 367 hp or nearly the same of a RS3 400 hp. In an other channel the golf 8r made a drag race and rolling race against a new A45 amg 421 hp and it's very closed. And they have measured on a dyno another brand new golf 8 r bought only one week before on this same channel and the result was 340 hp (so the car doesn't get probably his full power because not totally "released").

yes, absolutely! And thats what i cant understand. The MK7 R needs about 5 seconds more 100-200 also with almost the same weight and hp.

Wow, this is genuinely incredible. To think a stock 2.0L 4 cylinder Golf is pushing 275km/h GPS, just feels unrealistic, yet here we are. Shows how strong this engine must be, when you think about the AWD drivetrain losses, this has to be closer to 350hp at the crank surely. Amazing!

I did 286 (tacho) in my stock 7.5 GTI TCR. So the 290 are even more impressive, considering the friction of the awd system, since the TCR is fwd.

AWD is Not used at this speeds with a Haldex System , it is fwd at high speeds

Super Video und super Auto! Aber was hier teilweise in den Kommentaren für Unfug steht, macht mich stutzig. Also 1. Mit 350ps sind defintiv hohe 10er - 11er Zeiten möglich. Beim Golf 8 geht es aber nicht nur um die 20ps und 20nm. Der Motor wurde komplett überholt und der teilweise anfällige IHI IS38 gegen einen großen Turbolader von Continental getausht. Beim Vorgänger fiel der Ladedruck ab 5k Umdrehungen deutlich ab. Beim 8er bleiben die 1,5bar (auch 0,1-0,2bar mehr als beim Vorgänger - allerdings schwer vergleichbar) stramm bis in die hohen Drehzahlen stehen. Gerade dieser lange haltedruck wirkt Wunder 100-200. Ich finde der Golf 8 R stellt alle Konkurrenten in den Schatten und ärgere mich sogar ein bisschen, dass ich nicht auf ihn gewartet habe.

@@reloadedgarage57 die Autos haben doch ohnehin mehr Leistung als auf dem Papier. Mein Leon ist mit 290 angegeben und wurde mit 320PS (korrigiert) auf der Straße gemessen. Fahre 100-200 11,7 +- 0,2s. Wenn der R nun 340-350PS hat, sehe ich das als sehr realistisch.

@@HVN8R Also die gemessenen Zeiten sind nur dann aussagekräftig, wenn auch korrigiert wird. Ich sehe immer wieder Leute die ihr Fahrzeug im Gefälle messen und sich dann freuen drüber wie gut ihr Auto geht. Selbst bin ich schon viele Fahrzeuge gefahren, sicher bin ich,zumindest, in der Vergangenheit gabs die pressefahrzeuge mit höherer Leistung als angegeben. Wird bei dem wahrscheinlich ähnlich sein. Hatte einen Astra h opc stage2 + mit ca 320ps bei 1350kg und fuhr knapp unter 12s 100-200. Mein aktueller S5 TFSI stage1 mit 415ps fährt 0-100 4,4 und 100-200 10,7. Natürlich ist er mit knapp 1850kg schwerer als der Golf, aber trotzdem kann der zauber-Golf mit 100ps weniger nicht gleich gehen. Den Golf würde ich realistisch bei 320ps bei mittlere bis hohe 11 einschätzen

@@reloadedgarage57 AFAIK korrigiert die Box von Automann direkt auf der Stelle. Ich habe meine Zeit mit Dragy gemessen und korrigiert. B2T: Der Golf kann schon sehr wohl gleich schnell sein 100-200. Gewicht, CW-Wert, Reifen (deine Sicher breiter als 235) oder Felgengewicht machen da schon einen großen Unterschied. Außerdem Quattro gegen 4 Motion. Der Golf kann 100% FWD fahren. Zumal du ja von 415PS max Leistung sprichst. Dein Auto hat nicht immer genau 100PS mehr als der Golf, sondern nur im Peak. Der kann je nach Programmierung natürlich auch erst im Begrenzer sein. Außerdem darfst du nicht die Leistung auf Papier vs gemessen vergleichen :D Noch ein anderes Beispiel. Ein A6 Comp fährt 15-16s mit 346PS im Overboost. Der 7er R fährt eine hohe 12. Das sind 3 sek schneller Trotz 30-40PS weniger Leistung.

@@reloadedgarage57 Achso, eine Ergänzung noch. Bei exakt 320PS wäre eine niedrige bis hohe 11 sicherlich realistisch. Gehen wir mal davon aus, dass die Serienfahrzeuge mit entsprechendem Sprit alle 5% nach oben streuen. War in der Vergangenheit auch gut zu beobachten. Vermutlich werden sich die Golfs dann zwischen 330-340ps bewegen.

Considering weight, drivetrain losses, drag coefficient, etc...I'm tempted to think this thing puts out about 320 hp and 420 Nm of torque... *at the wheels* . Could this be the closest we'll ever get to the old Golf R400 concept that Volkswagen never had the guts to produce it? This is enough performance to give even the Mercedes-AMG A45S a run for its money. Sure, the Merc may still be faster, but this thing doesn't fall behind that far, considering the official power/torque gap.

@@Automann-TV bin mir sicher, dass ihr das super umsetzten würdet. Dadurch, dass jeder auf andere Dinge wert legt, könnte viel berücksichtigt werden. Ich hab einen 7.5R und bin bsp entsetzt, dass die Alu-Einstiegsleiste mit der blauen LED durch Plastik ohne LED ersetzt wurde. Oder auch der emotionslose Motorraum ohne Lift. Das sind Dinge, da würden mich eure Ansichten interessieren 😁

What the hell? There is no way this just has 310 ph. This outperforms the new BMW 440 by more than a whole second 100-200 and the BMW has 370 hp. The golf isn’t even a lightweight either

When the mk8 r photos were leaked in early 2020, I didn’t like the headlights and the lack of button interior design. However, given its performance, I will for sure trade in my mk7.5 r for a mk8 r in the future.

they are not such particular and overwhelming data for a Golf R, it's a great car Don't get me wrong however if we talk about wow effect I would talk about the RS3 takes approx 3.8 seconds from 0 to 100kmh in the wet... And after that is really insane #SamePrice

Jep. Tesla always claims with ft. rollout and often 0-60 mph. That’s why we don’t reach the Tesla claimed times but usually get faster times out of R, AMG, M,...,Cars;)

Sehr sehr cooles Video! Der schwarze Lack mit Acrapovic steht dem 8R echt gut :-) Frage: Wieso fährst du nicht im Getriebemodus Sport+, den du im Fahrprogramm „Special“ bekommst? Das ist der aggressivste Modus im Golf, vielleicht geht dann zeitlich auch noch was 😏 Weiter so!!!

Danke🤩🙏 “Special” ist abgestimmt für die Nordschleife, da schaltet er nur früher runter beim Anbremsen, in der Beschleunigung tut sich da nix:)

Da hast du wahrscheinlich Recht 👍🏼 Ich würde dir den „Special“ bzw. Sport+ Modus trotzdem für maximalen Fahrspaß empfehlen, der 8R dreht sich durch die knallharten Lastwechsel vor der Kurve super ein, im manuellen Modus gibts dann sogar auch (endlich!) RambaZamba im Begrenzer 👌🏽 und wenn du nicht selber schaltest, hast du immer den perfekten Gang anliegen 💪🏼

Werkswagen mit ca 360PS. Eine erster echter User auf RU-vid tat sich schwer die 270 zu erreichen nach GPS und er hatte 100-250 ca 31Sekunden. Automann hat ca 24Sekunden für 100-250. Es wäre traurig wenn VW hier die Kunden täuscht. Aber schauen wir mal.
