I only rented for my first two years and I understand your pain. My carts were always slower but I eventually just got use to it. Most who passed me knew it was a rental or I just had a slow cart. I waived many to pass me which they understand. Even with my new one I still get passed but I have just let it go I’m not in a race.

These carts are Evolution carts and come with many standard features but with some short comings also. For 10K they come with a 105 AH battery with 35-40 range. I prefer a 210 AH battery with 70-80 range. Also haven’t seen a cart enclosure for that price which you need and the verdict on quality and long lasting is still out when comparing components like wires etc. Not to say I’m intrigued. Like one of my commenters stated he hated the high prices of the villages and bought three less expensive carts in 10 years. I think a good cart new should last 10 years. My two cents.

That was Michael from TVE. He said he had a 70 miles range and drove from lake Denham to Spanish Springs and back with plenty of range left. I'm intrigued, but will definitely have to do my research. We haven't even started looking yet.

@@DisMindy5767 also read from another RU-vid that the Evolution battery not as powerful but dunno. Everyone should do research. Hubby always liked Yamaha gas so prob what we will get. Have had two up in NH

@@karenb324 we will definitely be testing out the Yamaha quiet tech. My hubby is definitely leaning gas. Plugging one in is easy and the quietness has me considering electric. I'm used to that kind at Ft Wilderness but those aren't lithium. The fort isn't that big.

Didn't see most of the prices on all those carts so I couldn't tell/compare.

Not sure, as I never saw a price list of options on website. I know when I purchased I only got the options list from the sales person.

Originally it was sticker shock to me as well, but after lots of research they are costly.

My assessment is prices are down or stayed flat compared to two years ago. Now you do pay a lot for bucket seats, enclosures, and extras but most want them. A basic new Yamaha 2 seater cart costs about $12,000 any where in the country without the things you want or need in the Villages. You don’t want to be caught in a rainstorm without the enclosure.

Price gouging. It's a golf cart. It shouldn't cost that much.

It’s a tie. Yes it is as you can get a lithium Star cart that goes 80 miles on a charge more mileage than anyone will do in a day. But the Yamaha gas cart has the long history of reliability. So either one is a great choice. That’s why it’s up to you.

In last two years I think I have seen two golf cart fires and both were gas carts. Most lithium batteries get a 5 year warranty and should last 10 years. In ten years the prices should be a lot less for a replacement than today. You should know if you didn’t watch my video on how to buy a golf cart or the one showing what I purchased. I got a Yamaha gas cart but I may buy a second one and it will be a electric cart.

I’ve looked and didn’t find any great savings. Maybe you can save a couple of thousand on a high end but you usually are compromising on the enclosure or seats or features. Golf cart stores are very competitive in the area but like the Star cart you can find for less but the battery is half the power so distance is compromised. Or you can buy reconditioned but that only saves a couple of thousand but it’s used. I took two years to finally purchase a cart and ended up purchasing from the Villages. Not saying you wouldn’t be happy with a cart that is not new or got items you want. Now buying from a Villager you can skip the tax and may get a good deal. Good luck.

We purchased both our Yamaha GC (his &hers) from The Villages GC, we paid a little more but the quality is top notch, and when you have them in for service and/or repair they give you a GC to use at no cost.

Just bought my third golf cart outside TV in 10 years and saved 3-4k each time except last week. Bought an Evolution D5 Ranger fully decked out as nice as that $28k star near the end and way nicer than the $21k ezgo 4 forward for $13048 including tax. Thier prices are out of hand. Also, everyone outside TV services your cart in your driveway. With TV golf store you have to drop off. Would never buy from TV store. They are insane

TV stores are way over priced for the limited selection they have.. be open minded, do your research, the four seat forward is taking off, every manufacturer is coming out with this version… lithium is definitely worth the money 😎Evolution .. good bang for the buck.. Some negative reviews on customer service/parts…🤨
