Adam , I have to say this, you are a very good instructor, your genuine and sincerity is so transparent. Your teaching style is so unique. It seems like you find each students strength and you enhance their abilities with it. You can’t believe how much watching your teachings have given me confidence in some of the things I doubted in my swing and I am 6 hcp. All I can say is wow. I have made it a point of duty not to watch any other instructors on RU-vid. You are it for me. I hope to meet with you some day👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Brilliant drill, the feel of pushing down on the club with the lead hand to bring the club head up and hands in, was great. But then I started moving my arms from my body, the alignment stick drill between the arms, making you turn with the hands and arms connected to your turn and on a beautiful plane, is awesome. I did this drill and started hitting straight and hit my 8 iron 150 plus carry. Not bad for a 63 year old😀my whole swing has changed from dragging the club on inside, then fighting not come over the top. Just fantastic instruction Adam. There’s such a lot of irrelevant stuff on RU-vid. Unless you get that takeaway right and on plane. You’re always going to be fighting your swing. Thank you Adam. Gary from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Mr. Porzak you aren’t bad at all, and I say this with the utmost respect. I very much like the way you explain everything and the ways you attack swing faults, from different angles and with great ideas, for you there isn’t just one way to skin a cat. This gentleman has a few swing faults that are obvious and you’re working one thing at a time and not getting ahead of other things, and I think that is awesome. I think to you teaching golf or the golf swing is as if you were peeling an union, one layer at a time. My swing is not like anything I’ve seen you teach, I have a single plane swing, a little Norman-ish/Bryson-ish, and I haven’t seen any of your students showcase that swing. But I’ve been able to follow your take away tips and it has helped me immensely the last two rounds I’ve played, since I hace pull tendencies. Your “hip bump”, that I’ve being doing for 30+ years and everyone and their mothers have criticized me for it, has been confirmed… I was right, it helps with the post and hip turn, I won!. Anyways, just want to say thank you for all you do and continue working with the youngins, they are the future of the game, keep up the good work. I’ve never taken a golf lesson in my life, I’m 50+ years old and I’m a single digit, I hope I could take a lesson from you. I hope you make it to S. FL one day, to the 305… 👍🏼😁
@PorzakGolf

Mr. Hernandez, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to write that message! Most importantly, I am the most excited that you did win and you were correct about the hip bump!! Hahaha … that hip-bump is key and don’t let anybody ever tell you otherwise! I appreciate you taking note of me attacking one thing at a time and not overwhelming the student, but actually guaranteeing they make real progress by chipping away at what needs to get done. I know it’s quite a flight for you across country, but you are always welcome in San Diego and I’m sure at one point my travels will take me to South Florida and I will reach out to you. You are also welcome to take an online or FaceTime lesson with me any time. Again, thank you for everything. Messages like this motivate me to keep delivering content and help players the best way I know how!

I've look at alot of coaches for drills and thoughts on keeping the path proper and it always some how gets really complex or just isn't easily achieved without them their. I'm really loving the content it's simple and effective! Just getting in position to make the best swing possible with that takeaway and easily getting to the top. Ahhh so glad I found your stuff man keep it coming!

His immediate takeaway look was amazing, great drill. I have noticed there is a kind of look Rory and a few others get where it looks like the club in folding to me, by that i mean hinging , so i guess the hinge is inline with their arm to give the look. and i just saw it here on this dude in the drill, nice work

I have this same issue with hands at the take away. Been searching for a drill and this is perfect as well as your comment on hands staying along toe line. So many great tips in here like the left shoulder in the down swing as well. I struggle with early extension and this video is tying it all together for me. Outstanding instruction!

Kudos to Matt for being willing to put himself out there. Nice to see the approach Adam takes with an average player vs. the stud D1 college golfers. The fundamentals are the same but the thoughts for us normal guys have to be different sometimes to get it to click. Love the thought Adam gave Matt about leaving that left shoulder down and working down and around instead of up and back. Matt's hands have a tendency to move toward the ball in transition. Do you guys have a drill for this because I feel I struggle with the same thing?
@PorzakGolf
@PorzakGolf 2 года назад
Thanks Richard, usually the hands going towards the ball in the downswing is a symptom of a bad setup and disconnected turn and top of backswing. Get people to set up right, and have a connected turn to the top and there will no longer be any compensation needed to get the hands back to the ball. Start from the ground up.

Adam actually spots and mentions it at 15:00 but i was noticing it since 11:00: almost EVERY attempt you can see that Matt's practice swings are perfect but when he goes for the actual swing he reverts back to old habits/muscle memory (club face opening, hand path creeps away from the body, and shaft hinges way under plane). he still does it even immediately after Adam points it out. go back and watch!! so even though the contact improves throughout the lesson, there is likely a lot more on the table left to improve. just goes to show why drills are so important--need to untrain years or probably decades of doing the wrong thing. also when going from practice to actual swing, slow down the actual swing so you can still feel the drill element of it. that was my takeaway from this video...pun intended!

I can understand concentrating on the back swing, but what follows is not good as he is still swinging around himself, flipping, and chicken winging with virtually no body rotation. With the proper backswing one would expect a better downswing/follow through. Not sure I understand the instructors praise for the result.

I wish any of this lessons will be filmed from the players point of view. Like a camera should be placed on the player’s forehead and film what the player sees and what this check points look from the player looking down the club and at the ball. All this lessons filmed from the back and front they show nothing what the student or the player is looking at , unless he has a friend to check his swing or film his swing and let him know if he is doing it right. 99% of the golfers they practice alone , what they see from the top looking Down and what the camera shows from the front or back are not the same . You can show this all day if it’s not me or the golfer looking down the shaft and what my hands do and where my hand are when I’m looking at them it means absolutely nothing. I think you are an amazing coach and your team does a fantastic job but someone in golf industry for the love of golf please film your teaching from the players point of view. It’s like filming a soldier from the back or side but you not showing the film that his camera on his helmet is filming. That’s the real view.
