Hi Dennis. I worked at Goliad SP and miss my days there but I had not heard about the cows. 😂The 1st book of my last trilogy is set at Goliad State Park and includes a lot of the history you’ve covered. I highly recommend kayaking the river but maybe not that boardwalk. LOL. I want to take Frugal RV Gal there and show her all of this. Thx for the vids of Goliad!

Morning Dennis! Goliad, Texas is the birthplace of Texas ranching. The four custom painted fiberglass cows were unveiled during a January 31, 2024 ceremony for the Goliad Stampede Greenspace. Great video. Thanks for sharing . Stay safe amigo and “Remember Goliad”

Hi, Dennis. Thank you for the tour of Goliad. It looks like a very interesting place to visit. They do seem to make an effort to maintain the parks, historic buildings, and old town. Loved that garden center, I wanted to jump into the computer and stroll around. Wherever you go in Texas, those old live oaks add so much beauty and charm. I'm glad you got to spend time (and eat jalapeno soup) with your friend Greg. Hope you're having a peaceful Sunday.

Hey Julie. I absolutely love Goliad. It has such a great history in the Mexican and French war and the Texas battle for independence from Mexico. It's a very neat little place. I believe they're only open at lunchtime, but they're right across the street from the courthouse.

that breakfast looked delicious!!! We love Goliad it is a great little town with a lot of history. I have beenthere on a Sunday morning and I was the only one walking around on the street. The Cream of Jalapeno soup from the Blue quail is delicious. They sell out of it a lot of times. That Park is a nice park I like to go there and Throw some disc golf discs. They have a nine basket disc golf course. That Kayak launch is setup by The Texas department of parks and wildlife. It is one of the Texas paddling trails. Presidio la Bahia is a very special place. We would be in trouble. Greg had my phone and his phone. I wouldn't have been able to call for help for at least an hour. Sometimes Greg goes off for five minutes and sometimes an hour. We all have our own agendas.

Hey Jennifer. It was really amazing that so many people just said hi or wave to low. People coming and going from the businesses or people that walk by while I was filming. The whole vibe of the place had that real southern hospitality.

Hey Jason. That courthouse is only a few minutes from the state park but I swear I think a lot of people don't even know about it. It's a really hidden gem and it's huge. Thanks for checking out the video buddy.

These particular ones were made by a friend of a friend. Nothing in there but egg. No preservatives or chemicals. They really rehydrate well.

The Goliad painted cows: It's an ongoing project coordinated by the city's public works department. A business sponsors, buys the cow, an artist custom paints it, the public works folks install it.

Good morning! Breakfast looks tasty! Goliad is a pretty little old town. Two old men eating soup in the park 😂 Very nice mail call. That fence is really awesome! Oh, no, on the step - glad Greg didn’t wipe out! That oak tree in the nursery is amazing. Beautiful mission. The flag has a few names but I believe officially it’s the Goliad Flag - commonly called bloody arm or severed arm flag. I have a thing for Texas flags. 🙃 Hope y’all had a good time! ❤

There certainly is. Ignacio Saragosa is from Goliad. He led the Mexican army to victory over the French at the battle of Pueblo. That is the basis for the Cinco de Mayo celebration.

Good morning Dennis! This was a nice surprise getting to visit Goliad again. The cows around town remind me of the bears around Boyertown, PA. I enjoyed the tour and the Greg Cam, and I'm relieved that Greg lived to see another day on that one. I've seen some kayak ramps in PA, but they're quite different so I didn't realize what that was until you explained it. Very cool! Anyway, I'm off on another adventure today, hope you are too buddy!

Good morning Jamie. I'm glad they had that signage there too. Confirm Greg's idea. I can't imagine trying to navigate that ramp if it was raining out, however. It was super slick just from the humidity. I hope you have a good adventure today, friend. We had a cold front move-in so it's 59° with a heavy wind right now, and it was raining until just a little bit ago. Not the best day for Sandfest.

Good Morning Buddy! Goliad is a beautiful town packed with history. Scotty sent me chocolate covered Macadamia Nuts from Hawaii once. I was selfish they were too good to share with my Granddaughters 🤣 At Stonevillage Market in Ft. Davis they have Jalapeño Potato Soup every Tuesday. Looking forward to that when I get back out there next month. Did Greg climb a very high tree to get the aerial shot of the Mission at the end of the video?🤣👍✌️

Good afternoon Dennis! The courthouses in small towns in Texas are usually gorgeous. The Blue Quail is a great place for lunch. The soup and sandwiches are delicious. The park has a great beginner Disc Golf course and the flowers are beautiful. They also have some really pretty old houses there. Great video! It made me want to go back to Goliad soon. I was really disappointed when I saw the courthouse here in Rockport and even the design of the new one. Nothing wrong with the new one, but I really was hoping they would've went with the traditional 1880s and 1890s style. Those buildings are amazing. They had a really nice one here in the past, but it didn't last long with hurricanes.

That is disappointing. I love the Victorian Era architecture. It had a style and gravitas that modern buildings just can't pull off.

@user-zi2zs8zs4v thank you amigo. I only know about Cuero because I've driven through there often and there's a big sign that says home of the fighting gobblers. Somewhere there is a proud mom and dad who are beaming because their daughter is the head cheerleader. That would make her the main gobbler.
