People said far cry primal was ass when it came out. I played it a few months back for the first time and it was actually a lot of fun, I found myself easily immersed in it. Who knows what retrospective will do for this game.

I think if you can somehow ignore Gollum/Smeegol and look at some of the cinematic shots of the environment, you'll find that certain scenery in the game looks really cool. But the flaws with the game are just too much lol

I'm about to put WAY more thought into this game than it deserves. I'm fascinated by bad games and got they got to be so bad. Like I truly believe no dev wants to pump out garbage, even if their corporate overlords command them to. That said, I did some digging. Apparently this dev only makes point and click games, I can totally see it in the game play. Everything about this game screams a point and click that someone tried to turn 3D like the companion mode. I think the game would have been better off it kept the point and click elements and played more like "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream". That game, did your item searching, dialog choices, and a form of a morality system, basically everything this game looks like it's trying to do.

I really wish AVGN would cover this 😂😂

I haven't gotten around to watching Lord of the Rings yet, and it's leaving me pretty confused about the lore in this game. They keep mentioning this "Baggins" character, but they never really explain who or what it is. And what's the deal with Gollum and his "my precious" line? Is he talking about himself or something else? Oh, and speaking of Gollum, is he a golem? Also, there's a huge spider and a massive lava eye thing that just show up out of nowhere without any explanation. I'm not sure how I can get invested in the story when it's not explaining these elements very well.
