Chilwero means "place of high view" in the local language of Setswana. Chobe Chilwero borders the Chobe National Park, which is the second largest national park in Botswana. Chobe National Park covers a diversity of landscapes ranging from riverine forests to floodplains and periodic marshlands. The area is home to the largest concentration of elephants in Africa, as well as an abundance of hippo, buffalo, antelope and lion.
On offer are guided game drives in open-sided 4X4 vehicles that take you to the heart of Africa's largest concentration of elephants. Highly qualified professional guides lead the game drives in customized open 4 x 4 game viewing vehicles. However the best way to see this area and to escape the high number of tourists that come here, is on the Chobe River by specially adapted safari motorboats.
