Bill Carlisle singing the song he wrote "Gone Home" on 'Country Family Reunion Gospel Series' with Buck, Sharon & Cheryl White, Bill Carlisle was 90 years old when he did this performance!
What a joyous song Yesterday I happened upon an old cemetery, and as I walked about, I came upon a family burial site likely long ago forgotten. Along with only her first name, was written two simple words on the grave stone of little 4 year old Ida who died in 1855, and those two words were ‘Gone Home’. Newburg Cemetery, Bancroft Michigan
One of the most amazing and versatile entertainers of all time. Bill had a nephew named Phil Carlisle who was our church music director for a while, many years ago (Kingston, TN).. One of the most talented vocalists and choir directors I'd ever seen. A true visionary - - It's clear now that it was in the DNA.
What a treasure.my father in law wss a good friend of bill.He was like Bill musical and played music with Bill.Glenn Parritti know they are cutting up in Heaven.RIP
Great job Bill. The first time I heard it was from the Hee Haw Gospel Quartet (Grandpa Jones, Roy Clark, Kenny Price & Buck Owens were the other 2 I think although I'm probably wrong) but they did a awesome job. I didn't know Bill Carlisle wrote if about his grandfather. The whites did a fantastic job as well. If I would've remembered about this song I could've had it played at my dad's funeral January 2016. All those who have left in the country music business and in my own personal family "Have Gone Home" and I'll see them again. This is Country Gospel if there was ever any played.
His beautiful Gospel Hymn recorded by many but not him. Today, he could have been singing about himself,a lot of the people in the video, and John Prine.
Bill Anderson, formou uma equipe ou mesmo uma confraria de tirar o fôlego, isso com personagens do country music que já se foram, é fantástico e bom demais. maneco - Porto Alegre-RS -Brasil.
Hard to imagine Bill Carlisle writing this beautiful song especially when you see doing his famous song 'No Help Wanted' ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hVDRXHGxiV8.html
Saw theJerry Garcia acoustic band play this song on broadway in 1988, it was the last song on the album release, such a beautiful tune, great to finally hear the origin!
