To be fair, people who smoke pot and talk about it as if it is the panacea to all our problems are equally nauseating. If a person wants to smoke pot I think that is their business, as long as they don't drive or do other things that require a sober state.

Or, if a problem, just require businesses to only sell that product in small-dosages, equivalent to the amount of thc in a regular joint. You get what i mean? Morphine is 100 times stronger than codeine, but medically we still use both - just at different dosages. A drug being 'stronger' than another does not mean we need to ban it. No reason to think any differently about thc percentages - Different percent of THC? Use it for different uses, Sell/prescribe it in different dosages. Problem solved. He ,instead, framed the issue like that, presumably out either: An embarrassing amount of ignorance for a drug tsar - or far more likely - Out of an attempt at being willfully deceptive. It's ridiculous. Also like, c'mon. In reality a 99% THC piece of marijuana would be a (literal) clear crystal. THC is a crystal. That is not a product anyone buys, and afaik does not exist. It would be wildly expensive/wasteful to use/make, and impossible to produce at scale. Not to mention unfeasibly expensive to buy as a consumer. It's a product that exists only in his mind. Marijuana isnt that different to what it was 70 years ago - We've just gotten better at using spectrometers and identifying strains and THC and CBD levels within strains. We simply KNOW more about the differing strength of strains and of the plant's botany. This is all good stuff, if you care about the safety and health of users! Much like how its good to know how strong your coffee bean is, its good to know how strong your weed is. But because people have done this important work educating weed consumers - We now have to deal with people misusing this good research to make scare-campaigns saying "oh weed is so much more powerful nowadays" Honestly i love a lot of the guests you guys have on, even if i have political disagreements with some, but that guy was no beuno. Came across as either a quack or a willful liar. I'm ALL for science backed education campaigns (especially about how risky it is to use daily before turning 25) - So it saddens me that this is the kind of guy representing drug policy, and not a harm minimisation expert following best practice in the feild.

I also take medical cannabis for the same reason and it got me of the opioids(OxyContin)it also helps me with fibromyalgia when nothing else has.Oh and it hasn’t given me schizophrenia either 😅, wait who said that 😂😂lol.

No studies examining the link between cannabis and mental illness (that wrongly conclude cannabis is the cause) factor in cannabis helping with mental illness. For example, it helps with autism, schizophrenia, ptsd, anxiety, etc. If the media reported this more, then Kevin Sabet would become (more) irrelevant. Please bring Kevin back to roast him on this.

But you know what, most countries have restrictions and restrictions on strength of alcohol. Just legalise and regulate it if wants to be sold from genuine vendors so can only be a certain strength whole do more research, sure there'll be people selling the equivalent of moonshine. But it's going to minimise the risk while work through it.

It was the US government that used the word in the 20s/30s as a way to make it sound foreign and dangerous to ignorant Americans (ie, Reefer Madness). And history repeats itself….

Rules should be ignored if they are unjust, cannabis related offenses do vary from utensils to commercial selling so there is that distinction, yeah you got a point though maybe just certain cannabis offenses be wiped.

Anybody who’s been Charged with a non violent Cannabis offense should have their charges expunged period. Regardless if it was against the law at the time. Cannabis in of its self is not a crime, and never should have been. Before Medical was even legal in California back in ‘96 someone was taking the risk to get Cannabis to whom ever needed it and of course wanted it. A lot of people who have been Charged with Cannabis aren’t really criminals, and aren’t really doing it for the money. There’s a passion and love for the plant mixed with a little hobby when it comes to growing cannabis and even just smoking it, learning about different Strains and where they come from in the world and seeing how each strain grows differently and has its own affects when consumed.

That's what I thought and googled it. Apparently the oils are more than 90%. Still, how much you consume would have to be a factor. It's like alcohol - wine had less alcohol than spirits but drinking 2 vodkas is not necessarily 3x worse than drinking 2 wines. So I'm not sure.... I think the real test is more about how much is metabolized in the body rather than what is in the product itself
