Martin has the same firey personality that his mother had. That's what makes Dona Francisca frustrated, she hates that she can't manipulate certain people especially those with a strong character. She hated poor Pepa, she didn't think she was good enough for her son Tristan. Dona Francisca wanted Tristan to marry Gregoria Casas. This was when Tristan and Pepa believed they were brother and sister. Pepa found out the truth and crashed Tristan's and Gregoria's wedding to tell him the truth. I liked Pepa, she has integrity and she was honest. She was a good girl, a lot of people did her a lot of harm. Dona Francisca, ruined her kids lives by always wanting to control everything. She controls the whole village, she puts people at her mercy. She loved power influence and control, but unfortunately in the end it didn't love her back. She ends up losing her own kids and what ever people tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. Mauricio is the only one who really knows what Dona Francisca is capable of. In one episode I saw her put on some black hood and disappeared into her secret exit. She has a book shelf with a secret area in her office. Dona Francisca, is part of a secret society, I read up on this. This novela has a lot of surprises and secrets. It's also really long. Sadly there are so many deaths. There are a lot of good people in this story, and some bad apples thrown in. Dona Francisca is very intelligent but foolish in her pride. Because of that and all the bad shit she did, even kids didn't want to have anything to do with her. I believe Tristan and Soledad were probably embarrassed that she was their mother. Tristan and Soledad were good, they might have made some mistakes here and there, but they were generally good. They both got a long with most of the towns people.
