"50 years from now when you're looking back at your life don't you want to say you had the guts to get in the car?" Damn that scene and this song puts things in to perspective. the present is so immeasurably valuable. To take chances and dont be afraid to make mistakes. Live like you mean it
This song makes me cry, it's telling you to not hold back and live your life with open arms and I always struggle with that but this helps me remember that all our pride and insecurities are pointless in the end and to let go.
Takes me back to the Summer I graduated High School. Michael Bay knew what he was doing when he called John up to write a song for this film. John Rzeznik is a lyrical genius.
I was 15 years old when Transformers and Before It's Too Late release Since there I like Goo Goo Dolls music, I listen Goo Goo Dolls since Stay With You but Before It's Too Late convince me to listen their music, and is a great decision
I was born like a year after this movie came out but this is may be one of the best movies to exist and the movie that introduced me into the world of rock music when I was like really young I have so many stories with all the bands in the transformers movies
Jeez, I feel old. I remember watching the first Transformers film in theaters 8 years ago. I don't care what others will say about this film. It started my love for Transformers, and nothing will ever change that.
I'm not a Goo Goo Dolls fan but I love this song. I was still a US expat living in Hong Kong when this came out. I downloaded it right away to my iPod and listened to it non stop while sitting atop of The Peak overlooking the city.
This is the song that made me a fan of The Goo Goo Dolls. This brings back so many memories. Use to have this song on repeat til I fell asleep. Its so good.
This also made me a fan of the Goo Goo Dolls. Funny story behind it though. So I purchased the song on iTunes in March 2013. Late that month, a relative passed away. I had to go to the funeral, which was my first ever. So I had the song on repeat the whole time cause I'm a huge Transformers fan and I thought the song was pretty good. So I have a cousin, who's my age, who is the granddaughter of the man who passed away. Her name's Elizabeth. So anyway, I know who the man is who died, and I sort of know the people on this side of the family, but not very well. So all day, when I get the chance, I'm listening to Before It's Too Late. On the day of the actual funeral ceremony, after it, we have lunch together, the whole family and all. So we sit down, and Elizabeth sits down at the table across from me. Now I knew who she was, but we were never really friends; we never really became friends because ours families didn't visit often. So after lunch, she suprises me by introducing herself to me. At that moment, we became friends. On the ride back, we're chatting on Facebook and I'm listening to Before It's Too Late the hold ride back. Ever since that day, March 29, 2013, Before It's Too Late has solidified itself with Elizabeth. Everytime I listen to it i think of her. So the days go by and I keep listening to this song because it's REALLY good. So i decide to listen to some other music from the Goo Goo Dolls and I instantly became a fan. Long story short, the death of a family member and a new and amazing friendship with my cousin, helped me become a Goo Goo Dolls fan :D
Nick Tasy WOOOOOW!!! That is truly amazingly awesome. You really never know what's going to happen and what a song will end up doing for a person. Interesting story. a great one I should add :)
“50 years from now when you’re looking back on your life don’t you want to be able to say you had the guts to get in the car?” That line means so much to me. This song is amazing it’s pushing you to take chances and live fearlessly and until you do you’re not living! Do things that are consistently making you get out of your comfort zone so that you experience all that life has to offer.
I cannot believe that it's been 7 to 8 years since Transformers came out. I remember it greatly and the amazing year that came with it. 2007 was the best year of my life. When I first saw the teaser in theaters, I became ecstatic. It was the first ever live-action rendition of TRANSFORMERS, a long time franchise that's been going on since the 80's. To see Optimus Prime duke it out with Megatron on the big screen was awesome. The action, the story, the humor, it was just fun. Okay, the humor needed some work, but still it's an awesome movie nonetheless. And because of the movie, the franchise was brought back to life. There were TF merchandise everywhere; action figures, coloring books, comics, video games, novelizations, Burger King toys, music soundtracks, and the stop motion fan films. How could I forget the stop motion fan films. :) Of course, it wasn't just Transformers that made 2007 a good year. There was also the movie Surf's Up and some other stuff that came too. Sweet, sweet memories. :)
And suddenly your comment is 6 years old and that movie has aged even older and in another glimpse or two, transformers will loose its copyright protection in 84 years. And almost everyone who watched this very movie and everyone around us will be stardust. We wonder of our place in the universe, our place in the vast cosmos. I say, the answer lies in those 15 minutes of dawn and dusk everyday. Cherish the blessings that lies in abundance around you and they are often free of charge.
yeah ik there so many other great movies that made 2007 a great year like The 5th Harry Potter movie, Spider Man 3, Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer, Meet The Robinsons or Shrek The Third 😊😉 that was one of my favorite years for movies PERIOD!!!
Fun Fact About This Song: In an interview with City Beat, Rzeznik explained the difference between writing for a movie and writing for an album: "I think the biggest difference is when writing the songs for a film, you sort of have your subject matter in front of you and the concepts right in front of you. The emotional aspects of whatever part of the film you are writing for are laid out in front of you. It gives me a bit of a format to work under, you know to work with. When you are writing songs strictly for yourself, sometimes you're pulling stuff out of your hat. You're sort of making up stories or reflecting on conversations you had with someone. I think it’s easier to write songs for film because you have that road map in front of you and put the pieces together." In a 2013 Songfacts interview, Rzeznik spoke further about his role in creating film music: "I like it because it puts me in the role of supporting cast member. I have my subject matter in front of me and I'll read the script, I'll see the movie. I'll try to talk to the director, if that's possible. I'll talk to the music supervisor and ask them what kinds of things they want. To me, it's a really great exercise for songwriting because you have to fit what you're doing in a very supporting role. It's not the main thing. You're there to support the vision of the director, and support the story. And enhance whatever part of the movie you're asked to put the music into." Filming the music video, which features the band performing on top of a tall building, was a wild experience. Bassist Robby Takac told Pocono Record: "Dude, it was nuts. We shot it on top of a 20-story building in Hollywood. They had a bunch of huge costumes and banners hanging behind us to promote the movie. There were helicopters whizzing around our heads. I was looking at all this stuff thinking, 'This is more dangerous than anything they did in the movie.' Then I realized when people see the video, they're just gonna think they CG'ed us on top of that building, which kinda sucks. That's really us up there. And, dude, let me tell you, OSHA (the Occupational Safety and Health Administration) was nowhere to be found."
im in the military and im stationed away from a very special girl, this song kills me cause it makes me think about her so much. it pushes me to hold out to see her but everyday is a struggle. beautiful song, beautiful feelings, and beautiful thoughts thx
This song was my son and his girlfriend’s (now wife) They were high school sweethearts and every couple picks a song. I have 2 beautiful grandchildren now.
I don't think these two movies could be compared. Nevertheless, the first Transformers movie was OK. The rest is just terrible. - lots of CGI - no script - full of plot holes - different background story in every movie...
@@Vipera01 well obviously. Practical effects won't work when you need 20 ft tall robots fighting each other constantly. The plotholes also didn't start until the later movies. Pretty retarded excuses if you ask me. The 1st transformers movie was legendary regardless of what you think about it
I honestly don't know how anyone can not like the Goo Goo Dolls. I understand why people don't like some other pretty good bands but I just can't see a reason to not like the Goo Goo Dolls. They're music is beautiful, meaningful, its something you can close your eyes and get lost in. Its just amazing.
Before It's Too Late" I wander through fiction to look for the truth Buried beneath all the lies and I stood at a distance To feel who you are Hiding myself in your eyes And [Chorus:] hold on before it's too late We'll run till we leave this behind Don't fall just be who you are It's all that we need in our lives and the risk that might break you Is the one that would save A life you don't live is still lost So stand on the edge with me Hold back your fear and see Nothing is real 'til it's gone [Chorus] So live like you mean it Love 'til you feel it It's all that we need in our lives So stand on the edge with me Hold back your fear and see Nothing is real 'til it's gone [Chorus x2] It's all that we need in our lives It's all that I need in my life
I'm Awake Now (1991) - Freddie Krueger Long Way Down (1996) - Twister Lazy Eye (1997) - Batman & Robin Iris (1998) - City of Angels Before It's Too Late (2007) - Transformers All That You Are (2011) - Transformers 2
This song pains a completely different picture of transformers for me. Instead of it being an action packed robot death battle, it now looks like a story of people trying to survive...or something, I don't know it just feels different.
it's freaking cool that both of my favorite bands are in the same movie T1, the Linkin Park and the Goo Goo Dolls. But this song is always in my heart, it helps me ease my pain for what everything happens to me, just like this song said "Just Hold on before it's too late"
Man on man , i was in middle school when this came out . And how awesome this movie is unexplainable . This movie had me thinking out the box 😂😆. 2018 and this song still makes me feel some way lol P.s. I even have the decepticon emblem on my Cadillac on the side like the Camaro edition 🤷🏽♂️
G1 fans hate the movies because it's not their childhoods and say stuff about 80's stuff. Guess what. Not everything has to be your childhood. Real TF movie fans loved the movies (TF1 to TF3) are proud of being fans of those movies and we missed the 2000's and growing up with music like this and the beautiful music steve did for transformers compare to outdated 80's rock and keep in mind the 86 movie killed off a lot of characters.
The first 3 transformers movies, though not perfect, were a piece of my childhood I wouldn't trade for a million bucks. I remember when the first one came out on DVD (I had exams when it was in theatres, because life is cruel) I must've been about 13 or 14, me and my friends watched it and I swear for the those few minutes we were 6 years old again. I'd wipe my mind just to experience watching T1 again for the first time
Incorrect, they dislike them because they are, for the most part, bad films (and I wasn't around for the G1 cartoons when they were first released). The first film has great action and the CGI is still incredible today and I still rewatch it from time to time. The other two are the first film done worse with more nonsensical plots and increasingly stupid comedy and villains.
The first transformers was a masterpiece. Everyone at their top performing and great story. I love bumblebee !! Hated to see him hurt!! Very epic movie. Too bad they ruined the franchise. This one was all heart
This song reminds me of a past boyfriend, in Florida, which sadly the relationship couldn't be mended, 13 years ago. Throughout my life he stayed within my heart, i never forgot him., and never will. This song will always remind me of him. 💛
Megan and Shia were such a great Duo in this movie. Their acting towards each other had insane amount of chemistry. I'm so happy Shoa is doing well now,I wish I could say the same for Megan but she's damaged.
It was this movie that made my childhood so exciting. I'm glad my dad introduced me to Transformers and GI Joe, it made his childhood awesome so he passed it on to me, as I will to my descendants. Thank you, Michael Bay, for creating the perfect blockbuster movie in my generation
This song is helping me get through a rough break up, just thinking about who else in this world will be by my side next & actually being positive about it,
makes me feel so nostalgic, just watched the new transformers movie and the soundtrack is clearly not as good. bumblebee is still kicking some ass btw even tho we dont have almost any of those autobots left, ironhide was awesome...
Watching this video in 2017, after TLK has been out for 8-9 weeks, makes me actually nostalgic towards the time before and immediately after I saw the first movie. For all it's flaws, I believe the first movie was and still remains the best of them. just for it's simplicity.
2007- I was 10 years old and grade 4 at that time and now fast foward to 2021, i'm turning 24 years old, what's really sad is that how old we're getting. 😔
I had 15 years old when this song and the movie release, now I nearly have 32 years old I thank to the fate for the greatest moments like this movie and this song
Beautiful song, beautiful theme, beautiful clip movie, beautiful soundtrack, and beautiful movie💗💗💗 Actually, Transformers franchise are good, but the first one is the best movie ever made and will always be, without a doubt. 👊✌😉💗💗💗
i loved this scene and sams line "50 years when you look back from this moment don't you wanna remember you had the guts to get in the car?" and they got in...great scene thumbs up if you agree!
I've been listening this song since the beginning, my favorite song from the goo goo dolls. Shout out to the people who are still repeating it in 2017 as much as i do :)
Did you know they made a bad record deal and owed the record company? Just part of the story but certainly makes you hate make music for a time, what is what they love.
2007, I was only 10 yrs old when i watched Transformers, just a kid with dreams I’m now 25 holding on to hope and aspirations while I figure this thing we call life. Have a good night and be kind to yourself.
Congratulations to John and his wife Melina on the birth of their daughter Liliana Carella Rzeznik, it's the first child for the both of them, first-time parents ever, John is officially a father! I said it here because this was the first song I heard after hearing the news.
It felt so good to hear this on the big screen again when I went to go to the 15th anniversary fathom event. Felt like I was 12 years old all over again. I’ve always loved Transformers and the 2007 film will always be my favorite.
1 - this movie brings back memories 2 - Part 1 was the best out of all the 3 released in my opinion 3 - The goo goo dolls song: before its too late suited the movie so well. 4 - Very underrated song 5 - Good times. Best movie released in years. Oh one of the best top songs by the goo goo dolls
I love this movie.... just Sia Labouf, Megan fox, the transformers, I just miss this movie lol the sound makes me a bit emotional still can't believe it's been 8 years man
