You complain about Denmark’s weather but all I’m gonna say as a Brit born and raised in England witnessing British weather that I’ve enjoyed 10 years I’ve lived in Denmark and I love it inside out. The winter is not the worst but the summer is definitely the best in the world. I see so many complaints about Danish winter I mean for fuck sake, without a winter there is no fun once summer begins and stays between April til September. Imagine being in a place that’s sunny 365 days a year and how boring it would get? I was in Munich during summer and it was depressing and ugly because it’s landlocked with no fresh air blowing and it got up to 40 degrees everyday. You people know nothing about weather if you complain about Denmark’s weather. Denmark is the best country along with Norway inside out.
The answer to why the negative things ik Denmark are happening, coming from a 14 year old: 1. There is no such thing as bad weather, there is only the wrong clothes. And if you stil say bad weather exist, think about that other countries have bad weather as well. 2. The high taxes is because you don't have to pay for things like healthcare and education. Some people might have a hard time paying for school and a doctor's visit, so it is only fair that those who have the money helt other people out. 3. It is expensive to own a car, because it is better to ride a bike or take public transportation both for the climate, but also for the people in need that actually need a car, like people in wheelchairs.
the anti car policy only works because Denmark has a high level of urbanization as well as average population density. to achieve the same connectivity with public transport in the US or Canada would be a lot more expensive. not to mention, Denmark is flat and has a mild climate so it makes cycling easier.
@@echochamber1234 I think that type of countries should invest in trains. But yeah, that is a really good point, that even applies to some other countries as well.
@@m41437 The US at least is already quite well connected with trains for freight. It‘s okay for freight, because cargo doesn’t care how many stops you need or how long it takes. It just needs to get there. Humans can‘t be treated like that. I lived in the Netherlands, where the train system was good, but if I had more than two changeovers or the wait was more the 15 min or the station was more than a 5 min walk from my destination. I‘d just opt for car or bike or even walking. I‘d imagine wait times, distance between stations, etc. would be absolute shit in the US compared to that.
Copenhagen is NOT Denmark. It is a city in Denmark, and their way of living does not necessarily represent the rest of Denmark. Everywhere else people have 1-2 cars.
Well the only reason why taxes are so high, is because we can go to the hospital without paying, also the police and fire department is completely free too
In denmark cloudy is good weather I have lived here my whole life and We really dont get too much Sun But when We do Its amazing because of our placement on the globe
Well i guess if you are migrant the winter would be hard, but me a Danish bricklayer its just to damn hot in the summer. I like the winter most, also i never feel cold. I wear shorts all year because its more flexible when you have to bow down after the bricks.
I’ve lived in Denmark for 11 years now , tho I come from another country, Denmark really has some depressing weathers , overall, it had a lot of nice places tourists can visit , FX the Lille mermaid , it’s really nice seeing someone post about Denmark tho it’s a small country :)
83% of Danish homes have at least 1 car , most people use their car every day for work-in Copenhagen a lot of people bike or use public transport that is mostly due to lack of parking space
As a danish guy I can confirm that, Yes Texas are 56% because we get free medical support, and there is bad weather, even summer. Because Denmark is next to the Ocean and Flat.
Denmark. Is the 1st in world's happiest country.. and woman safety, equality, low crime rate, low corruption.. i think this is enough for survive happily.
Well, the only reason why the Taxes are so high, is because we can go to the Hospital without paying, also the Police and Fire Department is completely free too. 🤓🇵🇭
The official work week is just 37 hours. Taxes are high indeed. I would’t say it’s free, rather say that it gives free access. Nothing is free. But we pay high taxes because our welfare system is absolute. It means that all of its citizens have the same access to the welfare goods, such as education and healthcare. Ownership tax on newer cars is actually not that high either. My grandmother's car costed DKK 2,800 a year in ownership tax, which is about USD 400.
As for taxes, here’s the question do your tax dollars go to your government in Denmark? Because their infrastructure is strong and stable Americans pay high taxes too, but it goes to the feds that print the money and not the government.
They go to the state, which redistributes the money to, among other things, the infrastructure and to the regions, which administer the health sector, including the hospitals. The educational institutions are independent but supported by the state. But we as citizens have the same access to the things mentioned because it is paid for by taxes. The redistribution of the tax funds is regulated once a year with a finance law which, according to the constitution, must be present in order for the state to collect and pay out money at all.
@@Bassman2846 so overall it actually means it goes to the people and not some bank like in America? Then I don’t see a problem paying taxes and that situation but here in America when I found out our tax dollars don’t go to our government and it goes to Ukraine Israeland illegal immigrants who have no right to be in our country no longer comply to it and from what I hear on social media, I’m not alone
@@Stevesguitartraveling777 some of the money also goes to the Army, to Ukraine, to prevent refugees, and to the EU. We get some of that money back again from the EU in the form of agricultural support. The banks here make money from the interest they charge on the money they lend
The high taxes go to finance one of the best wellfare systems in the world and free education for all. In DK you will never have to worry about paying for hospital admittance, seeing your doctor or sending your Kids to university.
The weather isn’t that bad. Rain = plenty of drinkable water Cold winters = perfect temperature summers And there has never been any natural disasters and lightning and storms are like once a year
Although it’s true taxes r expensive, it’s imo one of the best things abt Denmark, bcz the high taxes make it possible to have an amazing infrastructure - free healthcare, education, insurance, compensation, and overall enough money for the government to keep the roads and streets at a good quality aswell
and another good fact is that the beaches are always clean like no trash and the sand is really soft and ik it cuz im from there but i dont live there but from like breaks my parents me and my brother drive to denmark to visit the rest of the family
Weather will always be a con in Denmark, except from the summer seasons, where it get very hot. Company Tax is lower in Denmark than the US by 1%😂 Income tax? it’s always high, mandatory 8% for non public workers, then 37-45%. (15% extra for those who earn 50k kr, thats why average income is on 45k) and most people get tax back because they paid too much. Car tax? 150-180%💀 It’s only people in Copenhagen that dosen’t use car that often. The rest of the country relies on cars for transportation. Many families outside Copenhagen have 2-3 cars.
Everything in Denmark is more expensive that's why the pay is higher. In actuality, the pay is not higher. It actually should be higher because everything is so expensive.
If one isn’t content in Denmark, it’s challenging to identify a more satisfying place. Many European countries face the impact of refugees, contributing to shifts in local culture. Crime rates are a concern, and there are challenges with health and welfare systems in some regions.
It's true about the weather. If I could summarize the Danish weather in one sentence, it would be "not what you expect" You can have snow on the 2nd off November, and yet only 2 days snow during the whole winter. You want hot summers? I hope you enjoy depressing rain for most of it. And you might say "oh, then just expect the weather to be bad" NO. The weather will be good then. It's a weird country, but Legos are cool I guess
I have lived in denmark for my entire life and its pretty nice where and every thing he said was facts except for that the weather is deppresing it is not it is just in the winter and also free wealth care
Cost of living is indeed expensive if you don't earn enough and yes cars and fines and licenses are expensive. But everything is relational and at the end of the day you will still choose Denmark or a better country
Ok the fact about the taxes are true but when I Went to Denmark it was a nice weather and Also people from Denmark have very expensive care like teslas
The reason Why tax is High is because it also covers any medical & Educationel cost. By that going to the hospital and School or College is always free.
bad weather is really relative thing. I live in northern germany, we have basically the same weather. So for me sometimes it is too rainy but in general it is ok(almost no freezing temperature in winter, no too hot in summer). I'd say the main problem is lack of sun, usually it's 1-2 hours a day, sometimes even 0(like today 10.06.24 - 0 sun 15 degrees celsious in the afternoon)
In Copenhagen some people don’t have cars since it’s just not sustainable for them. And you can live just fine without a car, which I’ve seen many people do
I dount that most people use public transport. Plus, the bike thing is a Copehagen and other big cities thing. People think Denmark is only Copenhagen, it’s not.
Why do people see high taxes as a negative? High taxes improves the wellbeing of a nation with more money going back into the public sector meaning better roads, better schools and better health care systems. All these are positive. You also end up spending less money with higher tax systems so you end up having about the same amount of money in your pocket but you have a better quality of live because your nation is doing better
