Mom was really casual about the kid bringing the knife all over to her. And the silhouette of the kid in the first ending did not look like a three year old at all (indicated by the candles on the cake). I doubt a three year old would even reach mom's vital organs or major arteries.
Well that was incredibly disturbing (I'm a cat daddy), but I loved the medium of 2.5D being used in this manner - good artwork, and even better, 2-dimensional characters. The text definitely needs a spell and grammar checker, and like others have mentioned, needs a background for contrast. If anything, they could be reflective of the people who are speaking: the grandma could have a black, scribbly background, the mother could be red/yellow/orange (warm colors), the boy could be a neutral blue/green/gray, with decisions made changing the color of the backgrounds. The only way for the first ending to make sense, however, is if the mother didn't tell the boy to get his grandma - in the case of changing textual backgrounds, this would have a different background than the one used by the mother to show that someone else told you to "get your grandma." There could, conceivably, even be a 4th ending where you refuse to "get your grandma" and instead sit at the table to blow out your candles...and maybe a 5th/6th ending where you get your "birthday gift" (the knife) and use it to cut your cake then give a piece to your mother/grandmother, respectively. Or, giving your grandma a slice of cake could lead to the same ending as cutting the toy box.
They really did miss the opportunity of using the knife for the cake. The mom says “What are you carrying?” to which you reply with a “Do it!” action on the cake, as if to ask what else are we cutting it with, lol.
0:58 I was gonna say I saw what the devs did there but on a second look and pause it doesn't actually spell out the title (edit: oh it does happen later tho) Grandmaw was Palpatine all along! The text/font was hard to read on my phone, is it easier on a full size screen?
Idk why but it's one of these rare horror games that make me feel sad and bad... Poor cats and mom they were happy etc, that's so painful to watch. Also random French chatter voices
Interesting game, there’s nothing much to say about it other than you’re probably a man with a child’s mind if you can manage to kill your mother. Aside from that loved the artwork it has a sweet start and cascades into darkness one way or the others
It was a lot better before the end of the third ending. Demons and satanic symbols are so heavily overused for "scary" things that as soon as I saw the pentagrams on the doors, I instantly was disappointed. It was a lot better before the stereotypical "a demon is to blame". I feel like the idea itself is very interesting, but by the end it just feels rushed. At first I thought it was something to do with the kids themselves putting the items back, but it just kinda went with grandma cause she was the one who did it, like "welp if the kid won't do it I guess granny will do". Like if they had done something along the lines of "punishing kids who are bad" (i.e. didn't pick up his own toys ever and caused trouble, and he learned he was only a "good boy" after the damage was done and killing the demon), that may have been a bit more unique to me rather than Satan telling us to murder people from the toy box. But I'm in the same boat as everyone else regarding the art style: very interesting and I love it.
