I just did a double feature of both movies even though the first one is the better film, i do think the first 20-30 minutes of GB2 are pretty good. I wish it went into a more "Ed's Big Adventure" route instead of feeling like 3 episodes of a good burger tv show. Its more faithful than the undercover brother 2/bigger fatter lair garbage.
I respect this review so much because it's honest. Ppl see nostalgia and ignore everything else. This movie has a lot of potential to be a classic, but falls short ultimately due to uninteresting characters and poor storytelling. Even though Good Burger didn't need a sequel, they should've done this in the early 2000's with the original cast. I might have to do my own review
The first Good Burger movie was my sh*t, and it was just so iconic too!! In 1997 I was only 12 years old and both Kenan and Kel were 19 years old. They both made this movie while starring in their own show on Nickelodeon called Kenan & Kel. Growing up in the 90's for me was off the chain!! Happy Thanksgiving Buddy!!
If Kenan and Kel were alone in a setting. They would even tell each other that the GB2 wasn’t good. It’s a cash grab. I love the duo and stoked they reunited again, but as for the movie, I cringed nearly 10 times. Making a sequel 26 years later was a huge mistake. I get Kel was trying to replicate Ed in GB1 but it wasn’t working. The screaming was ridiculous and it wasn’t funny to me. Kenan was acting like he didn’t even wanna be there, and even he was more funnier to me than Kel in this movie. But again, I do love how they have reunited. I’ll always love Kenan and Kel man❤️
good burger 2 is a good movie and people have have wanted a another good burger movie for years now and i am so happy we finally got it and there planning for good burger movies
I honestly didn't mind the sequel. It was far from the best thing ever but I didn't feel like I wasted my time. I've seen much worst sequels...I'm looking at you Coming 2 America. Good Burger 2 at least feels like it takes place in the same universe as the original, can't say the same from Coming to America and it's sequel.
Personally, I liked the movie in that it was at least continuing the story and wasn't explicitly pushing a political agenda. This movie conveys the danger of automation in the workforce, especially the food industry. However, they also poke fun at human error through Ed's service at Good Burger. I didn't go into this movie thinking they'd have a very high budget. If Paramount + didn't exist, then this would've either been released straight to DVD, digital, or debuted on Nickelodeon. Although they rehash a lot from the first movie, that's unfortunately been a common strategy with sequels. The Terminator franchise's many sequels are rehashes of the same concept with a few changes here and there, but they worked before with tons of box office revenue (Such as Terminator 2). However, Terminator: Salvation went in a different direction with its story though bombed and got negative reviews. If rehashes of the first movie for sequels is what will make money, then I doubt future sequels will likely be bold enough for major changes.
To be fair the first Good Burger had shameless product placement as well. Nostalgia Critic even made a comment in his review during the smokestack scene going "Gee, I can sure go for some Rold Gold pretzels right now!" referring to the truck outside with a Rold Gold logo on it
I honestly don’t know what audience this movie wants to cater towards: On one hand, Nick is trying to appeal to the “Ohio Skibitti Toilet Grimace Shake” TikTok audience with rapid low-brow gags and “quirky” randomness… And on the other, Nick is trying to appeal to the 90’s Nickelodeon millennial fanatics with references delivered in the most unsubtle ways possible; a brick to the face every time one is done. I knew this movie wasn’t going to be the best going in, but holy FUCK within the first minute when a certain SNL member popped up, I knew I was not in a good ride.
Facts folks are never satisfied ,like I understand folks have their own opinions but sometimes people really get out of hand with these reviews ,like damn if it’s that bad get the money to make a movie yourselves like damn
@@BoodaBeats Not everyone is an empty shell of a human that sits eats shit and enjoys it. Some of us actually have standards And using the false narrative of its not for us, is just a safety blanket for you babies so you dont have to accept the fact the movie is garbage. Nostalgia doesnt work on everything children.
"Is it a bad movie,no" Quit the back pedal Literally everything you described makes a bad movie They tried way too hard hanging on the nostalgia And the nostalgia babies are coping acting like this is remotely good
It was a dumb movie the first time yet it was loved. The second one was goofy too but it was for the kids who grew up with it to watch with their kids. I watched it with my 2 year old son.
I. Just Watch Good Burger 2. And I hear Linda cardellini was about to come back to play Heather but the scenes end up up being cut And I heard linda form some time to do it but They and up cutting the scenes And I heard. They are. talking about doing a third good burger
I think this was too seKelly. A few spin offs. I can deal wit a ED and his family type movie or do skits wit the crew at the store.(the good burger show) I mean u got the dude in the blue shirt look like the manager from Kenan and kel for God's sake. But like u said Kenan heart wasn't in the film 4r.
You’re trippin…I loved the movie..it’s obviously aimed at kids and teens of today’s age..the original and this one has the same humor so I don’t get your argument
lol you said it was modernized then said it had old dated comedy lol oook. Also kennan always looked boring next to kel. And thank you for letting me kno kai cenat is in the movie so i wont waste my time.
I don't even get the appeal of the first movie, it was just as boring and unfunny as this, the people calling the original "beloved" are clearly blinded by nostalgia, it sucked then and it sucks now.
@@sirducksworthythe3rd842 No, no it wasnt And it wasnt even better than 10% of the films of past 5 years Even straight to video titles. And thats saying a lot Quit letting your nostalgia spread bs
So you tell us about all the cameos and throw backs but it's a non spoiler review smh next time (if you truly want to create a non spoiler review) say something like "the movie isn't worth seeing, there's some "C" list celebrities but I won't name them because this review is spoiler free" and then keep it moving but to show the cameos as well as tell us that "Kennon created an invitation that didn't work" is the total opposite of a non spoiler review smh
@@BroWitGlasses8008 I never said you spoiled it for me..I said you shouldn't say your review is spoiler free if you include things that aren't shown in any of the trailers but again glad to know I hit a nerve. Oh and btw some people may go just to see all the cameos just like some people are only interested in post credits scenes. You never know what a person's interest are as we are all different Ave have different reasons for seeing a movie. But because it's not important to you it isn't too the rest of your audience... Good to know. But anyway keep up the great work. Despite the inaccurate labeling of the review I still support because I know how to take criticism and keep it pushing.
@@BroWitGlasses8008 oh and if you're explaining the setup (something that is not previously known) how is that not telling part of the plot? You may not have meant to do that but that's exactly what you did. It would be no different then me telling someone (who has no idea who Batman is) well Bruce's parents get killed so he starts fighting crime. Well I may not have spoiled the main part of the movie but I still inadvertently spoiled part of the plot which is still a spoiler. But you're right it's ridiculous because now without watching the movie I know what forced him to go back to fast food but yep not a spoiler....smh
