Trang died at the age of 27 in a car accident on September 3, 2001 near San Francisco, California. She and former actress/model Angela Rockwood-Nguyen, to whom Trang was to be a bridesmaid to later that year, were passengers in a car travelling on Interstate 5 between San Francisco and Los Angeles (they were returning from visiting Angela's planned maid of honour) when the driver (another of Angela's bridesmaids) of the vehicle she was riding in lost control.
This is depressing... I wish she were still alive.. it's weird to not know some in real life but to like their work and their tv personality enough for it to be such a blow when they're gone.. it's really.. really weird to think of her as dead... *shakes head* really is a huge shame..
the first power rangers when i was a kid was the best man and it always will be. fuck all these new ones they have. all i have to say is the very first one till light speed were good ones but the new ones are corny as hell. and to the original yellow ranger thuy trang may u rest in peace we definitely wont forget u
The car swerved violently across the road before hitting the roadside rock face and flipping several times before hitting the safety rail and plunging over the bank. Rockwood-Nguyen survived despite not wearing a seat belt, after being thrown out of the vehicle through a window before its final impact; as a result, however, she is now quadriplegic. Trang, who also wasn't wearing a seat belt, died upon impact. The driver only suffered minor injuries.
RIP Saber-Toothed Tiger/Griffen: I found out about this a month ago looking at some old MMPR epis and reading the comments and couldn't believe what I was reading, and sure enough it was all there on IMDB. What a cruel, messed up world (especially the uncanny timing)... I would like to think she's chilling with the extended family on a neverending vacation (I am atheist for obvious reasons, but believe in afterlife - and it is wholly up to YOU to get satisfaction in death).
I wonder if one of the Power Rangers episodes (I don't remember what form the Rangers were in [in Space, Lost Galaxy, etc.] during 2001.) had one of those "dedicated to Thuy Trang 1973-2001" things before the ending credits? Does anyone remember?
