one thing on the 3rd birhday my man, might have had good gameplay, but was subversive as hell. The one you were playing as was not the original protagonist, and you spent the game destroying her soul. if you are a fan of the series chances are you are not going to like it.

Have you already done Brave Story? If not, that's one I think everyone should play. Incredible visuals, probably the best looking game on the system. Could easily pass for a ps3 game.

Me and 3 other friends back in like 2014 got PSPgo’s for cheap and modded them. So many nights playing dissidia and Tekken 6 sitting on the couch round after round. I haven’t thought about dissidia in years thanks for reminding me. RIP Bryce

dissidaia feels insanely overlooked. As far as fighters go it has the best single player by far over other fighters. Such a great game overall i wish i had more people to play against.@@Yuzuki1337

There are plenty of other channles like it. Gamesack has been around for over 10 years on youtube. Nonetheless this channel is exceptionally good for being so new and covering more modern consoles.

Some lesser known PSP favorites of mine: Generation of Chaos: Pandora's Reflection - It's a real-time tactical RPG from Sting. There's way too many mechanics to explain but it's so much fun to play. The Japanese VA is stellar too. both R-Type Tactics games - In terms of tactics games nothing comes close to the complexity of R-Type Tactics. I love that you have to replay maps to "mine ore" so you can buy new ships. Also the ranking system is so clever. The rank tells other players what your playstyle is but also how far along you are in the single player story (which ships you have access too). It's so well thought out but admittedly it'd be a lot for newcomers to the genre. Tom Clancy's EndWar - Another innovative Tactics game. This time developed by the company behind the first PC version of Catan, Funatics. I like that they explain that you're giving orders via satellite so there's a delay. This means you can never be within range of an enemy because they will always hit you before you have a chance to move. Makes for very tense battles. Every map feels like a puzzle to solve but in a good way.

You forgot to point out that in Megaman Powered up, you get to play as any of the 8 robot masters once you defeat them, each one with their own abilities, sometimes changing drastically the way you play the game, giving it a high replayability value. Also, back then, you were able to design your own levels, and upload them to the community servers for others to play with, kinda like Mario Maker but almost 20 years ago... A very, very underrated MegaMan game, simply recomendable. 😗👍

Crazy how Capcom gave players the ability to make custom levels in a full remake of a classic Mega Man game almost 10 years before Nintendo did something like that for Mario

Never knew about this Megaman for PSP. Sounds cool too. And about Valkyria Chronicles, there is a fan translated Verizon of the continuariam (more like additions for the same game) valkyrie Chronicles 3 Extra Edition. More missions, story, incredible presentation and characters.

@@anduhdrea917 there’s an english patch in a website called cdromance. But be warned: the text can be very janky. I suggest using an old version of ppsspp somewhere around 1.6.0 to fix the sound issue

Thanks to this channel, I gave Sol Trigger a shot. Bloody hell. Amazing title! Not just that, but it gives the impression that many of the PS2 era Shin Megami titles, like Digital Devil Saga, could’ve been ported to the PSP with some minor adjustments.

You do not play as Aya in third birthday. She is a clone. It's also not the third game. It has nothing to do with the prior games. It's a spin-off. These things were stated in later interviews when they confirmed it's not the third game

Growlanser 4 stuck on PSP and it's on my top 20. It's a rerelease of a ps2 game, but they added abunch of stuff and the only version in English.

Bro Psp rocked, Sol Trigger was awesome I played it without being able to understand Japanese lol good thing for skill icons & it seemed to have a parents then kids story. Crimson Gem Saga well man I loved that game & 3rd Birthday listen I never hated a game so much but the gameplay was so awesome I stuck it out & beat it. Just the starting where you had to run from the enemy was crazy cuz 1 touch your dead kind a thing sigh.

The Valkaria Chronicles three just got a 4K texture pack you can find online for all you fellas out there that wanna play it. It’s close to 18 GB though.

DISSIDIA 012 was pretty fun.I don't think I finished it completely though. Just did the main story. Crimson Gem Saga looks nice, I like the graphics. I have the original Phantasy Star Portable 2 but I've heard the Infinity version is better. Might have to get it! I still need to finish Phantasy Star Portable 1 though.

Great list as always. One thing confuses me though. You've mentioned for two games in this list that they have now received translations by dedicated fans. I didn't own a PSP up till now but plan to get one soon. So my question is how exactly do fan translations make it to the actual game. Does the PSP allow games to be patched by anyone else besides the developers?

Sad that Hexys Force still hasnt shown up since its a title id like more people to try. Classic RPG with converging destinies, good vs evil and you get to pick which side you play on. It's just fun, though ill admit that it's not everyone's cup of tea. But yeah, i physically own it and im sad that its forever stuck on my psp who's battery inflated. 😕

For valkyria chronicles 3 player you can find similiar gameplay in mobile/pc example honkai star rail but the feel doesnt same

Now that I have a Steamdeck I can play every single PSP GAME that I never got to play ON IT and it looks plays amazingly especially in the best upscaled quality and the ability to remap camera controls on the Right Stick for some games that normally have it set to the directional button makes playing these games so much better and easier

@@thatvideogamesshow Honestly the best purchase I ever made I'm able play to play every single PS2&1 PSP PSVITA Majority of PS3 games , every WII Gamecube gameboy and a majority of the latest Switch games and all of my PC games all on one portable device only bad thing is the battery life sucks on the LED model better to get the OLED Model but both are pretty much identical

The PSP was the first console I bought for myself with a bit of money left over from an exchange programme I did in Poland. This thing gave me years of gaming joy throughout college. I’m so happy I kept it in a pristine condition to this day. The quality of the games that are on it keep me coming back to it all these years later.

Pretty decent picks, Dissidia 012 was an absolute masterpiece for a psp game imo. Insane amount of content, super fun and addictive gameplay and tons of different ways to play it. As a Parasite Eve fan tho, thank god 3rd BD is stuck on the psp and i leave it at that.

I loved the en patch for vc 3 so much it still baffles me why the dumbasses at sega did not give it the pc release like they did for vc1. then when they do release installments they shit the bed so badly! I hope they try again someday and do a scenario based on korean or cold war era story scenarios.
