Four eyes entwined Draw four separate lines And none of them point to you A tangled mess Of knots I confess But the intent Was there I swear We set out sights On something That we thought Was true So now we sit and stare across A surface spanning the whole state Two feet between And miles apart No words to speak Been here a week And still we haven't got a clue It falls apart there's not a heart to beat there It falls apart if there's not a heart to have It falls apart there's not a heart to beat there It falls apart if there's not a heart to have Each word a world all of its own Each thought rendered only in groans The syntax skips Semantics slip And what was left A growing cleft Of language lost Tokens unknown Then I guess we slipped right through And lost all meaning on the way We ended up A tiny piece Of every heart Of every part Of every stone Of every grave It falls apart there's not a heart to beat there It falls apart if there's not a heart to have It falls apart there's not a heart to beat there It falls apart if there's not a heart to have
@Diabolicu I could only catch what was said for a brief moment at 2:17 We ended up A tiny piece Of every heart Of every part Of every stone Of every grave The syntax skips Semantics slip And what was left A growing cleft Of language lost Tokens unknown Then I guess we slipped right through And lost all meaning on the way We ended up a tiny piece Of every heart Of every part Of every stone Of every grave
If someone else tried to claim this song as their own without giving credit to these wonderful gentlemen I would find them and make sure they never live to see the light of day ever again. MARK. MY. WORDS.
The words used in this song have me drawn in and hooked. I am caught and I cannot leave. As a developing poet and author, the rhythm, cadence, and just sheer poetry within these lyrics has me entranced and coming back for more each time. One of my favorites. I found you guys on Spotify and love Nomu, Drifting, Osmosis, Alchemist, NTTE, MDS, FRT, Aloe Lite, Bubbly, Break, and whatever else you put out!
@@tokage933 When the band was recording for Nomu, their bassist (Michael, who is super amazing and awesome) decided for that lyric to be the song's backing vocal. At the time he was really into the song "Animal Instinct" by The Cranberries, and had that line stuck in his head, so when they had to finalize the song's lyrics in the studio he kinda just blurted out "the animal instinct floating away from the start", on the spot, and they went with it. Nomu is a song about two people who are understanding each other less and less and are being separated. On its own it's pretty hard to tell what the backing track is saying, which is a perfect fit for the song's theme of faltering comprehension between two individuals. When we finally uncover what's being said, it's about *the animal instinct*, which can be more broadly interpreted as the inclination to protect/care for someone dear to you. If those desires fall apart, we can relate it to people breaking away from each other and having that connection that they share to be lost. It's cool how a randomly thought up lyric can fit so well with a song.
The fact I found you guys from a random meme comp a few months ago is insane, been actively listening and obsessed with the band since (0.2% of Spotify streamers and I found them maybe around mid September of last year? Even more insane is that t he wrapped was at the END OF THE YEAR!)
Hearing this in concert almost made me cry. I just wish I could've been closer so i could feel the loud, chaotic ending where all the voices entangle. It's so amazing. WOOOOO
@@GoodKidband You are incredibly welcome, I actually found myself looking through the channel again because you hearted my older comment and I found this gem of a song :)
'We ended up a tiny piece of every part of every heart of every stone of every grave' has to be one of my favourite lyrics of all time. I have no idea why it resonates so much with me, but it just...does. I can see it be my favourite song for a VERYYYY long time, cause it sounds so goddamn good!!!

I just heard this earlier today off Google Play and you guys sound so polished. I'm looking forward to you guys developing and going on tour. This is a number one alternative single waiting in the making.
This was released when I was the most happiest in my life, second year of high school... Good times. Decent now sure, but not like it was back then. I discovered you guys through Spotify Discover Weekly and you guys bring me back to a time when things were simple and not worrysome. Thank you.
Good Kid songs are attached to my life and heart. I play your songs during a mental breakdown, during focused moments, during my enlightened and happy moments. You have no idea how much this band means to me that I come back to these songs at both my highest and lowest points in life. Thank you so much Good Kid. I'll wait for you to grow more famous and possibly have a concert in the Philippines :)
I’ve just bought your Good Kid 2 Vinyl ( signed ) and can’t wait for it to arrive. I instantly felt in love with your music, especially this song. I can’t wait to hear more of you guys. Greetings from Germany and stay save. :)
I found this song while looking for songs for an assignment, and let me just say THANK YOU for making this. Nomu is absolutely one of my favorite songs and I've nearly memorized all the lyrics. If I didn't live in america I'd totally be trying to catch the band at a concert. If you ever release an album, know you've definitely got one dork that'd buy it.
